It was not often Theo personally went on recruiting errands. He preferred his boys (and girls) to bring in their friends, since there was already the bond formed with one member, a bond that could quickly be transferred to him and the rest of the gang family. Theo met all hopeful recruits and passed the final verdict, no matter how large the gang got, that was something Theo would not give up. Today was a special occasion, with a special girl in mind. Maybe she could be recruited, maybe not. It was not every day an un-affiliated Pokemorph moved into Noxus territory. It was only polite to go welcome someone to the neighborhood.
“You are positive these are her favorite,” Theo stated to the empty space in front of him.
The apparent emptiness spoke, “I am positive. She stopped and stared at those sweets for ages.” It was a ghost, one of those who rarely, if ever, took visible or corporeal form. Theo told himself he could feel the ghost’s presence as more than just a chill down his spine.
“Ok, but if this goes south, you owe me,” Theo warned, holding out his hand to deliver the payment.
A short time later and Theo had a bakery bag slung over the handle of his chair as he wheeled off with purpose. The faceless ghost lead the way without more than a muttered word or two. Theo mostly followed the happily floating Flippy. Theo trusted the psychic and dark type’s senses more than he trusted his own, maybe imaginary, ones.
“Here,” the gruff voice drew Theo up short and directed his gaze down a small alley way. There, behind the fire escape, Theo could see part of the crouched form of a girl with strange features. That was his target alright.
“Thank—“ Theo broke off, sensing the ghost had already disappeared. He gave the emptier space a glare, then composed his face and mood. Automatically selecting a route through the debris-studded alley way, Theo rounded the rust covered fire escape.
“I thought I would find you here,” he said loudly, so as not to startle her. He elected to pretend he knew the girl; it would throw her off balance, maybe enough to keep her from bolting.
[tell me if anything doesn't work!]
