There was a strange sensation that came with saying someone's name for the first time, Lithre found. That first fleeting impression, a stark highlight of what one thought about the person to whom the name belonged, whether one realised how they felt or not. She'd like to think that she'd said her brother's name in a way that suggested, at the very least, civility, but in all honesty she couldn't quite place the tumble of emotion that accompanied it. It worried her that she didn't know how she felt, but she supposed that only time could tell what her true thoughts and feelings were.
Elec's response drew a humorous smirk. The Raichu looked hungry, and not at all like the threat she had feared he was earlier. Sometimes all it took was a reminder of someone's mortality to remind her that most people and Pokemon were OK. There were of course exceptions, and thinking about those sent a shiver through her. She'd had some close brushes with those anomalies, experiences she was not eager to repeat or relive.
Food could be an issue in Lithre's home too, although the only shortage was created by the demand - feeding six hungry mouths, plus herself, required a great deal of food. She was grateful that she had gone shopping yesterday - the grocery shop wasn't exactly close to her apartment, and she was already feeling weary. Having to stop off at the store sounded like a particularly troublesome chore, one that she was pleased about not having to do. Having to cook the meal would be enough, she thought, to keep her occupied after the day she'd had.
She waved away his concern, although she couldn't quite shake her own. "It's fine. After all, what kind of sister would I be if I made you stay in a hotel?" He'd probably have trouble finding any place that was not involved in questionable activities, to say the least, at such late notice.
With another smile, this one impossible to determine whether or not it was forced, Lithre turned and led the way.
"It shouldn't take too long to reach my place. It's just on the edge of the citadel. If it weren't for the walls, you'd have a perfect view of the mountains..." Sometimes she would sit by her window and stare out towards those mountains, especially when she was feeling homesick, pretending that there was nothing to separate her from them and that the concrete wall and mesh dome did not obscure the base and cut lines through her view of the stony peaks.
((Maybe we should continue on in another thread in the appropriate area?))
