This world of theirs was indeed big, even for a so-called legendary. The sheer size of it could be overwhelming, however a set of wings and immortality tended to make such things somewhat less daunting. What was a huge distance when you could fly and had all the time in the world to get there, after all.
She could understand his confusion - she didn't quite understand why she'd asked herself. She'd always known she'd have to face her siblings eventually, and she had dreaded the moment, delayed for as long as she could, made all kinds of excuses. She supposed she had dragged her heels long enough. Looking at her brother, she had to concede that it might be time to let go of old grudges and turn over a new leaf as it were. And what better way to reconnect with her younger sibling than to search with him for Moltres? She'd be killing two birds with one stone, as it were.
Lithre laughed, although it sounded just a little forced. "Well, that's certainly a relief." It felt strange to just talk and try to be nice and happy. She couldn't remember the last time she was truly happy. Content, yes, but ecstatic? For centuries her heart had felt as cold as the icy lands of her old home.
The bird felt guilty to hear how much her brother had wanted to help her, how much he must have sacrificed to try to do so. "I've been in Remoor for a while now, put down some roots. It... isn't the most welcoming of places, but it could use some help." As she spoke, something occurred to her - if Zapdos had been searching for her all this time, moving from place to place in pursuit, it was unlikely that he had a job, or a place to call his own. "Do you two have a place to stay in the citadel? It can be a struggle to find any decent housing." The question felt awkward, and she wasn't sure what she would do if he didn't have a place. Could she really let him stay with her, so soon after running into him again? Could she trust him again?
Lithre herself had a neat little top floor apartment, and a number of Pokemon living with her. Five, to be exact. She wasn't sure how they would react if she were to bring home a brother she had almost never mentioned.
Grey eyes drifted to the slowly melting ice in the lake as Ashurera spoke. She stared intently as the water dissolved a delicate crystal of snow, listening but not grasping the words fully at the same time. She didn't feel prepared to face the whole truth yet. It was too soon. She marveled at the humor in that - it had been over a thousand years and it was still too soon? A slight smirk tugged at her lips at that thought.
Honestly, Lithre didn't know what the punch was meant to be either. It felt heavy and awkward, and she regretted the gesture immediately. Things were much less complicated when she could just hate her brother. Then again, blaming someone else always was more convenient then facing the real problem, wasn't it?
His response made her snort in amusement. "Gee, Zap, you couldn't have chosen an older-looking human form, could you? Then again, I could always buy for you. That is supposedly what older siblings are for, according to the youth of today." She could appreciate such an outlook on life, although she could not say she approved of underage drinking. Risky behavior like that caused at least half of the incidents she had to rescue people from. Humans. Both infinitely brilliant and immensely stupid, sometimes in the same instance. She loved that about them.

Elec never really asked about stuff like that and Ashsurera never told him anything upon his own accord, So it was a subject left alone. Though, Elec did wonder just how much Ashsurera could remember. He knew that the young legendary was always trying to remember more. Spending who knows how much time doing that along with searching for his sibling. Course the search took up almost all of his time, so memories were pushed to the side that he was attempting to remember.
"No. I don't have a place." Ashsurera answered.
He never really did have one save for his island right? That was where he never caused too much damage and the pokemon there liked having him it seemed. Plus he was able to go down to the human town and see what they did. Become interested in their ways. Besides, his search meant that he would have to be ready to move at any given time. Making roots anywhere was a thing he couldn't do. If he made roots, he would want to stay and that would make the search come to a halt because of his stupidity.
The human form he liked it as it was. It was the first thing he looked like when he succeeded in making himself look human. It wasn't too bad of a form, he just didn't look his age in anyway and he was fine with that. He had thought about making himself look older but, he already had a hard enough time getting used to this form and just creating it along with maintaining it. Maybe it was just a foolish thing to remain somewhat looking like a teen that was a adult yet. But in all honesty, he felt like it just suited him more for some reason.
"It just suits me better." Ashsurera said.
Besides, only someone younger than a adult would have as much memory lose as him.

The past was a touchy subject it seemed, no matter who was talking about it. Lithre tended to avoid hers as much as possible, but now she was being forced to confront it. As an ancient being, she could be very opposed to sudden change when she wanted to be. That generally only made the whole thing that much harder for her to deal with.
She'd never considered how not remembering something might affect another. For the most part, her memories were intact and they were all in perfect detail - something that was not always the most enjoyable experience. But to be missing entire sections? That, she felt, was surely far worse in almost all cases. In the back of her mind, a thought that such amnesia could also be a blessing flashed in and out of her stream of consciousness.
If someone had been monitoring her heart rate they would likely have noticed a sharp increase in response to Zapdos' simple reply. Lithre stared blankly at him, deep in thought. She couldn't very well leave him out in the wilds, but she didn't know if she was ready to have him stay with her. He was her brother, though - she couldn't just leave him to fend off the infected, especially not when she had a perfectly good apartment with a spare couch and ample room for two guests. Deliberating, she ground her teeth, then sighed as she came to a decision. "Well, then, I guess you'll just have to stay with me." Arceus, she hoped she wasn't going to regret this choice.
There was rarely a time that the legendary had not had some sort of home, or at the very least a base of operations - she might be a largely solitary creature, but she liked to have someplace familiar and comfortable to sleep. The rootless days of her youth were long past, and she led a more settled existence now, at least in location. Or, she had, until Mewtwo had stepped into the picture and she'd been forced to flee. But even here, in Remoor, she had not only found a place, but also a job and some friends, even if those friends were oblivious to her true nature.
Lithre had never really considered how she looked as a human - she simply knew that she looked like a human, and she didn't stand out too much in a crowd, and that was generally good enough for her. She had never put much thought into the form, despite the fact that she now spent more time as a human than as her actual self. There was only one feature that she paid much attention to at all, in fact, past basic grooming and ensuring that her clothes were acceptable, and that was her glasses. She didn't need them for her vision and, in all actuality, they weren't even hers. Yet she wore them all the same, and she could swear to having to push them back at least once every couple of minutes.
She nodded to that, and her pesky glasses made a dash for the end of her nose. Grimacing slightly, she fixed them back into their proper position. And now she found herself out of things to talk about. Silence descended as she prayed for an idea, or a new direction in the conversation from Ashsurera.
Family reunions were always so awkward.

If anyone talked about the bad parts of the past it would be a touchy subject for them as well. Ashsurera though, his past was worse. It was just what had happened but the shear fact that after all this time, he still couldn't remember! He wanted to remember, he wanted to remember and make amends. But how could he do such a thing, when he couldn't remember? Every time he tried all he got was fog or darkness.
Sure, some would consider it a blessing to forget so much, considering if what they forgot was the bad things. But it wasn't. It was far worse than just being able to remember all the bad things. Elec could never understand, even though it would be grand if the little electric rodent pokemon did. Articuno's words surprised him. About him living with her, he looked at her confused.
"Doesn't...you guess usually mean you're not sure?" Ashsurera asked as he sat there.
He could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time. So really, Ashsurera was leaning more towards that he was just wrong considering how often he was. He was already right about anything. The silence that started to fall between them came quickly and he didn't know what to do. It was Elec, who after twitching his ears, ended that silence.
"Say Articuno, do you think that if Moltress was here what would be a spot they would most likely be at?" Elec asked.
They needed to find Moltres in a way still right? So why not? It Ashsurera and Articuno could make up, then maybe all three could? It would be very grand if they all could and start to slowly become a family again. Elec knew that was what Ashsurera wanted also. His friend always seemed disheartened more when he saw families and siblings getting along and being happy. The raichu didn't doubt that Ashsurera was putting all the guilt of how the siblings hated each other on himself. Not a healthy thing to do, but Elec could never get his friend to stop doing that even if he wanted.

No, she wasn't sure. She wasn't sure about him staying with her, she wasn't sure if she could really forgive him, she wasn't sure she could even be that physically close to him without having some sort of breakdown. "I'm sure. I want you to come stay with me, at least until you can find a decent place of your own. It's what family does." She wanted to try. She owed him, and herself, that much at least. And spending time together might allow them both to heal.
Brown ears twitched, and the Raichu spoke. "Please, call me Lithre." She glanced around as she replied, as though paranoid that they might have been overheard. Slightly too late for that, she supposed. Besides, they were in the middle of the ranch, next to the lake - she doubted even Pravus would be listening here. "They'd be somewhere warm, but aside from that, I've no idea. Obviously they're making an effort to remain anonymous - the whole region would have heard if Moltres had been spotted flying around. Honestly, it's not going to be easy to find him, especially if he doesn't want to be found." She wouldn't know, though - she hadn't exactly been looking.
Lithre supposed that they did need to find Moltres, in a sense. They needed to find him, if only so they could all move on from the mistakes of their past. She just hoped that finding him, confronting him, wouldn't end up making everything worse. Articuno had been made quite cynical by the passing years, and she didn't hold out too much hope for any fairytale ending in which they all made up and everyone lived happily every after. She would settle for an ending that wasn't unbearable - if they could all be together without any one of them trying to kill the other, she would consider that a triumph. Anything beyond that was just amazing. She would try her best to get along, though, if not for her sake then for her brother's sake - looking at him now, she could see that it meant a lot to him. She didn't want to let him down, not again. She would do her best to get along with her brothers and to make amends.
With a sigh, she stretched her arms, and stared out across the lake. She missed Kanto and she missed flying. Most of all she missed just being able to relax and ignore the rest of the world. Maybe she could go back to that again if she could just bring herself to forgive her brothers. Maybe...

She was sure? Why didn't it feel like she was though when she spoke? Perhaps Ashsurera was just being ridiculous or a bit too unsure due to the past. He knew there was a strong change of forgiveness never coming. Finding a place was still furthest from his mind still.
Upon hearing the raichu's suggestion to keep looking for Moltres, Ashsurera looked down at him a bit confused. Why did Elec want to go after Moltres? Moltres wasn't needed and honestly, he didn't know what his big brother would do when he learned. Learned that the electric legendary couldn't remember the cause for the fight nor anything else about it really, save for bits and pieces of the fight itself. To what he could remember, Moltres was bigger and much stronger what would he look like as a human? Tall and muscular?
"That could be anywhere." Ashsurera said. "Some homes have heaters...that'll make heat."
It was true, depending on much of a heat source Moltres wanted, it would make finding him difficult. Besides, he most likely wouldn't admit that he was Moltres to anyone. Unless they revealed what they were to him and all, which then he might. But the whole thing could go downhill very fast. Moltres could see them as a threat and attack, or see Ashsurera and attack.
There were so many things that could happen and Ashsurera didn't know which to hope for. HE wanted to make amends but he doubted it would work. Considering the fight had started between Moltres and himself, where Articuno only interfered. It would be easier for Articuno to forgive, she had only gotten mixed in. She wasn't at the start.
Hearing his sister ask to be called by a different name. He nodded his head to show he understood. Best to call her Lithre instead of Articuno anyway.

She recalled being a better liar than she was currently. The only conclusion she could come up with was that she didn't do well with lies that had to be nice. Lithre really did want to make amends - the sentiment just had issues translating into sincere action when she was so close to what had been the source of so much anxiety, so much pain, over the many years. Perhaps the key to finding a way to let bygones be bygones was through exposure - the more time she spent around Zapdos, the more she saw of him, maybe, just maybe, the more she could come to terms with things and finally let the past go.
He had a point - there were any number of things that could raise the temperature in an area. Looking for a needle in a haystack did not do the challenge justice - they were searching an entire region with so little to go on that they might as well just search metre by metre, and they could still end up completely missing Moltres. "That's true. But there are some areas that are significantly hotter than others in Remoor - deserts, volcanos... We should start with those." Lithre shrugged a bit, realising just how much of a long shot the whole thing was. "It's not much, but it's better than nothing."
Hopefuly, Moltres wouldn't attack if they did manage to find him. A petty part of Lithre wished that he would, but the logical part of her mind knew that a peaceful encounter would be better for all of them, physically, mentally and emotionally. No, it would be far better if the whole thing went down without a hitch. They had to actually find him first, though.
Forgiveness was relatively easy when compared to trust - Articuno wasn't exactly the most trusting legendary to begin with, but after having been burnt? Even if she wanted to trust Zapdos and Moltres again, her subconscious was working against her. Her shaking hand was testament to that, and she stared at the tremors running through the limb with a mixture of disappointment and disgust.
He nodded, and it occurred to her that perhaps she wasn't the only one with a new name. "So, is there something else I should call you, brother?" The corner of her eye caught on the orange streaks curling through the sky. It was later than she thought - it would be getting dark soon.

A peaceful encounter would be nice. Hopefully it would go that way. If it didn't, Ashsurera wasn't sure on what to do. If he should run away or try to stop his brother from attacking if he did. That was the thing though, why did he get an odd feeling when he thought about that part of the risk?
Elec was also hoping for this to be a peaceful meeting, there was something about his legendary friend that he wasn't sure if the others were aware of it. Elec was due to when they first arrived he saw it first hand. Ashsurera losing control of his powers and unleashing them onto the infected pokemon, while he still kept a human form, he was dangerous and pretty scary.
"Sounds like possible places to me, we should start searching some time tomorrow." Elec said, he then turned his gaze to Ashsurera. "Right?"
Ashsurera nodded his head. The response made Elec sigh a bit as his ears slightly lowered. He removed his gaze from his companion. There were just times when the legendary was just too confusing to the electrical rodent.
Hearing his sister's question about name, Ashsurera turned his attention to her as well as his gaze. That was true, he hadn't mentioned his new name to her yet did he? Well that was another thing he had forgotten to do. It really was awful to be him sometimes.
"I go by Ashsurera." Ashsurera answered as he stood up slowly, still holding the electric rodent in his arms.
Elec just remained there happily. At least his friend would answer some questions on his own. There was hope for the guy but whatever hope that was it was often slim and hard to see in everyone else's eyes. Since others knew him as a forgetful person.

Lithre had often thought about how a reunion between her and her siblings might go. Never once had it been a peaceful scenario. Then again, she had been proven wrong by Zapdos already, so perhaps she could be proven wrong again. Should Moltres attempt to attack when encountered, she knew what she would like to do - brutal and unrestrained retaliation. However, what she would actually do was anyone's guess. Sadly, instincts rarely complied with reason and planning.
There had been a time when Articuno could be equally terrifying and formidable, but in current circumstances, she made an effort not to utilise force if she could at all avoid it. Sometimes being peaceful was quite a struggle.
Tomorrow it was then. They had a lot of ground to cover, though - it was unlikely that they would find Moltres anytime soon. Especially as Lithre had a job to do, and her unpaid work on the phone. It seemed unwise to search alone, so they would have to look together, severely cutting down on the time that could be spent searching. An unavoidable reality, she supposed.
"Ashurera..." Lithre rolled the name off her tongue, trying it out. It was not unpleasing to say aloud. "It's a lovely name." Much like her own nickname, it was also unique. One of a kind. She was certain that she would not be running into another one anytime soon, which was nice, she supposed; fitting. It was as singular as he was, the only one.
Lithre stood, grimacing slightly at the feel of her knees cracking as she got her feet underneath her and straightened her legs. It was on the verge of night, and she had work in the morning, before the sun even rose. "It's almost dark. Perhaps we should continue this at my place - after we eat, even." Her fridge was, thankfully, well stocked - having six hungry Pokemon meant that she always made sure to have plenty of food. Emergency grocery shopping was never fun, after all.

Ashsurera listened to the way Lithre or Articuno said his name. It wasn't in a bad way thankfully. Perhaps she really did mean her words before. That they could get along and make amends. That was what Ashsurera wanted after all but wasn't willing to enforce or anything like that. Elec's ears twitched to the mentioning of food. The poor fellow was hungry.
"Yes! Please." Elec exclaimed happily, really just wanting the food now.
Ashsurera stood up, holding the electric pokemon in his arms as Elec waved his front paws about. He must've been hungry to want to go straight to eating and ignore everything else. Couldn't blame the fellow though, Ashsurera didn't have a lot of money so normally food was just something small that they could split with each other. A full blown meal though would be a welcome to the small rodent most likely.
"Sure." Ashsurera agreed; there was no reason to disagree on the matter. "If it's really alright with you."
Still couldn't help thinking that way though and in turn it caused him to voice it. Ashsurera didn't always voice what he thought but when he did it was usually out of fear and all. Elec sighed lightly but the electric rodent understood why Ashsurera thought the way he did. Elec considered it was instinct for Ashsurera sometimes to respond the ways he did but he couldn't be sure. It could be anything really.
Ashsurera would follow when Lithre started walking to lead the way. Still holding Elec in his arms he couldn't help but to continue questioning it all in his head. Was she really fine with it all? Or was she just putting on a brave face and pretending? He couldn't be sure and only time would tell if that was the case.
