TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH YOU
( tags: terrakion. words: 400) Ah, nightlife....
...why am I here?
The busy sounds of people coming in and out of the doors below were starting to turn into white-noise for those on the balcony above. Crowded bars had never been Kiyoshi's favorite places to be, but at least the mess of people stayed congealed to near the brightly-lit bar or the equally bright dance-floor rather than the balconies above. Hardly anybody was even up here, despite the view of the people below and the cooler, calmer atmosphere.
Leaning on the metal railing, a teacher and god was swirling a glass of cranberry juice and soda in his left hand, the other raised and supporting his chin. He looked surprisingly bored. On the weekends he found himself having less and less to do as the loom of spring-break approached faster every day. Not that he didn't enjoy spring or a holiday...it just meant, well, less to preoccupy himself with. This was why he'd agreed to meet up with some students at this place. Figured they'd wanted to get drunk.
They were all legal, of course, so he had no qualms about this. There was just something about drinking with people not only thousands of years younger than you but also those who you grade the tests of. It was just...odd.
With a small sigh Kiyoshi raised the glass to his lips and drank the last sip of his fizzy, non-alcoholic beverage before moving from the railing and daring himself to either get something from the bar or simply leave. He was half-way down the stairs when something familiar caught him off-guard.
A laugh. It was odd that he hadn't heard such a laugh in a long, long time, but that he recognized it almost instantly.
Of course, he had never seen Terrakion in a human form before. While the bull and his brothers were out blending in with that world, Landorus had been stopping typhoons and keeping fields alive and soil rich. Much less adventurous times--except maybe the first point--than the life of the musketeers.
But that wouldn't make seeing him any less enjoyable. Now where was he? Kiyoshi glanced around the crowd as best he could, dodging between oddly dancing young folks before being knocked over by somebody and tripping into a bar-stool he hadn't noticed. So graceful.
Maybe he should wait to be found instead of getting himself trampled in here.

It was quite an amusing conundrum, the cycle that his life had fallen into of late. When he was participating in his current employment he waded into the midst of danger and even adventure, spending all of his time with beautiful ladies and more often than not accompanying them home for 'additional duties'. Odd it was indeed then that whenever his rare occasions without work came along he spent it not relaxing in his study, but rather courting danger in the search for beautiful ladies to accompany home. Perhaps it was simply the manner of man, pokémon, that he was. Afterall he and his brothers had been the originators of such exploits in the times before any such concepts had even been contemplated. Of course there was also the possibility that he'd heard his own legend told so many times that there was really no other way for him to live anymore, lest he shatters the beliefs of far more than a handful of beings.
Whatever the case, it didn't really matter or even merit an overabundance of consideration. Terrakion was what he was and that was the way he full intended to remain, Arceus willing. So far he'd managed to somewhat accept his past, or at least drown it, and was able to more easily focus on the present. And presently that present consisted of several presents seated upon his lap and several more gathered about him, all of varying genders, appearances, and ages. What united them all was the huge, boisterous man at the center of the mass, who was currently booming with laughter for no reason other than that he simply felt like it. He'd been at the club for only a short time but he was already the center of attention; something that tended to happen quite immediately regardless of the locale.
Unfortunately however, he revealed to them that he must briefly depart. This was met with groans and protests from the assembled crowd, all of them begging him to stay and assuring him that they could take care of anything he might need. He jokingly informed them that he needed to use the facilities, only to receive a comment or two from the edge of the group that the speaker(s) could handle that as well. Rather than being disturbed as most would he merely burst out laughing again, continuing to do so for a short while before settling into a low chortle, thanking them for their hospitality and assuring them he would return momentarily.
Once detached from the ladies and gentleman he moved into the crown, the strange swords at his sides clinking softly. As he walked the dim lights glanced across them, making it appear as though the gems sit into their guard's were moving, looking at people; but of course it was just a trick of the light, right? Clearly. In any case he made his way across the club, only to have some slender little person practically falling all over him. With a curious glance he turned about, the gems seeming to be staring directly at the young man, and reached out one huge hand to raise him to his feet. Once he was standing the much larger man eyed him thoughtfully, before grinning and clapping him roughly on the back. "Well, eef eet eesn't old nanny farmer. 'ow 'ave you been my friend?" He'd sensed the fellow legendary from where he'd been sitting, hence his departure, but hadn't quite been certain exactly where he was. To have him literally tripping over him was quite a stroke of luck indeed.

TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH YOU
( tags: terrakion. words: 298) It seemed that Kiyoshi's little trip had gone mostly unnoticed by the other patrons of the bar, which was something of a blessing. Even with sixteen years as a mortal under his belt he still couldn't quite grasp the concept of legs. A downside, surely, to being human. But at least in a place full of stumbling alcohol-fueled dancers stumbling here and there his little slip wasn't mocked openly.
Just as he was about to pull himself up from the stool a large hand grasped Landorus by the shoulder and hoisted him up for him--was he really so light? No, it was just that the man who did it was strong and tall as a mountain himself.
It took much less time on Kiyoshi's part to recognize the man, or bull, in front of him, and a warm smile spread across his face the moment he had. The nickname could have been done without, but he was too happy to see his kin to care. "My dear cousin, it has been too long hasn't it? I have not seen you in a millennium at least. I'm well. Glad I caught you in your...element," Kiyoshi paused in his sentence as he was nudged by a passing patron, as if to prove his own point. This place was getting all the more crowded by the moment, making the god uncomfortable.
Such discomfort showed clear in the way he moved so his back was against the bar and, thus, not exposed to the humans around them. "I never understood how you and your brothers could handle such crowds. But how have you fared these last few centuries, Porthos? Ah, you still go by that name, don't you?"
Maybe he could convince the bull to join him on the balcony instead...

It had indeed been quite some time since he'd last encountered any of his kin, especially those that likewise hailed from Unova. That was especially curious considering that the bulk of his ages in that land, in several forms. It was not altogether strange however, his kin had a tendency to avoid one another. To the best of his knowledge they only chose to actively affiliate with those within their own spheres, if those. He and his brothers were much more active amongst the ranks of course, but even they hadn't been together as one in so long as to be considered the distant past by mortal standards.
He'd always rather enjoyed the younger brothers of the so called 'Kami Trio'. While it was true that at times they did tend to get carried away, they were quite amusing to watch and to party with, which were two things he valued quite highly. One might think that he'd have preferred the company of the eldest, due to their own affinities for the earthy elements, but it had always been Cobalion that had gotten along with Landorus due to their inherent stuffiness. Still, as with all things a barrel or two of mead made the fertility god much more enjoyable to hang around.
The giant of a man chortled, a deep, rumbling sound, both at the fellow god's greeting as well as his obvious discomfort. "Quite so my friend, quite so. Eeet 'as been far too long. You should 'ave come to visit, I spent quite a deal of time in Unova before zee war." As soon as the words were spoken the spark in his eyes vanished, replaced by coldness, guilt. The gems on the swords seemed to shrink somewhat, then almost seemed to turn upward to watch the man they were attached to. Whether this too was fact or merely a trick of the light was up to one's own interpretation, as the look faded the moment he turned towards the bar, signalling the barman, who he new well, for two scotch on the rocks.
Again he chortled, his massive arms on the bar serving to support his even larger body, head turned towards the much smaller man next to him. "Aye, I do. Eeet's quite a good name, I see no reason to change eet." He paused, chuckling once more. "And eet is quite amusing to see ze reahctions. What ees eet that you go by now? Surely you have thought up something more masculine zan last time, eh?" Upon the arrival of his drink he immediately plucked the glass up, the shotglass appearing like something from a dollset in his huge hand, and poured the entirety down his throat before replacing the glass.

TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH YOU
( tags: terrakion. words: 284) Ah, the war. When a look of cold remembrance crossed over the much taller man's face, a similar grim, pained smile showed for just a moment on Landorus. It made enough sense to him that the musketeers must have been a part of such battles, even if only to protect the other Pokemon in harm's way. But where had he been in the midst of the war? Studying. Learning. Trying to find a less violent way to aid in the restoration of the planet.
It seemed noble at the time, but now he wasn't sure if he could compare such choices.
Thankfully the moment passed by quickly. Unfortunately it seemed to be replaced with alcohol consumption. Why did he order two--oh. Good, it hadn't been for him. Maybe Terrakion remembered the last time alcohol had gotten into Landorus' system...he didn't quite remember details but when he had sobered up corn was growing from the roof-tops and suddenly there had been a "baby boom".
A little sneer popped up at the bull's teasing. This was why he'd preferred the steel-type of the three. "The last and only human name I took was a effeminate because I was a woman, unless you've forgotten. Naturally I have picked a more masculine name since that," he paused to place his empty glass on the counter and ask for another alcohol-free drink before returning his attention to Terrakion, "Though to you it may always sound a little feminine. You may call me Kiyoshi or Mori-sensei, since I teach at the University now. Agriculture, unironically."
"I don't suppose your brothers are in the city as well? I haven't spoken to Athos and Aramis in some time. Are they well?"

The war had been quite a difficult time for the eldest of the musketeers. For the first time in his long years it was not his fellow pokémon that were in need of protection from the humans, but rather the humans in need of protection from the pokémon. If only to make matters worse, many of these humans had been under his guard for centuries, forming bonds far stronger and more dear than even blood. Thus when the time he was torn between his age old vow to ward his fellow pokémon, and his feelings toward and vows to protect the humans whom had become as his children. No matter what choice he had made, it would have torn a great rift in his heart, as it inevitably had. These days he spent more time drinking to forget than to revel, something he nor any of his kin would have even been capable of fathoming at their long forgotten dawn.
Fortunately he was quite apt at the art of subterfuge, as were all his brothers to varying degrees. One would not expect it by looking at the massive bull but he was quite the actor; or actress, when the situation required such of him. Thus he gave no further indication that there was even a single ill fared thought passing through his mind at the time of this reunion with his old kin, merely motioning for further drinks. Unfortunately for the fertility legendary Terrakion did not at all intend to allow him to leave sober this night; or even leave on his feet, as he intended to drink his legs out from beneath him.
At mention of his brother's he shrugged his massive shoulders, throwing back another of the newly arrived drinks before replying. I ahm afraid zat I 'ave no idea. I 'ave not seen ze louts in quite some time. Eeet ees my 'ope zat I shall encounter zem here in Remoor; ze region ees littered with out kin zees days." Curious, that. He had no idea why but it seemed that nearly every legendary on earth was abandoning their natural environment in favor of this land. Was it the war that had brought them, or something else? Only time would solve that puzzle, and he could only hope that the answer was one they would not lament. "Ahnd you, cousin? 'ave you been in touch wis your own brothers?" Perhaps they could liven the old beast up some.
