The dojo was one of the few places on this island that Sid could relax and train all in one space. Normally used only twice a year for the lower privates, it didn’t see too much use. And that annoyed him to no end. Here we have a place where one can at least hone their body if they’re on this infernal island for copious amounts of time and it was barely used at all? It seemed like madness in Sid’s mind. Throughout his time spent here for work, the male had decided to take the place for his own and occasionally practice his sparring with the training dummies. Sadly, the dojo had been relocated into the smack dab of Pravus Headquarters. He preferred peace and quiet when training, but this was better than nothing.
If he wasn’t working or prowling about, Sid could be found here sparring and practicing punches, kicks, anything that could help to de-stress. Being near the top was a job that was stressful, as one would think. Having to endure several years of it, one would think he got used to it. That was completely wrong. While keeping up with his job, Sidney continued keeping up with his body, as did his team. While some people didn’t exactly mind the sounds coming from the dojo, the cacophony of Sid’s members tended to gather the ire of some people. As much as he tried to keep quiet, it was close to impossible.
Today was one of the few days where the sound was manageable, Sid on the hardwood floor with Forge standing right in front of him. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he nodded at the scrafty, signaling him to charge. With a cry, the fighting type charged, one foot slightly raised for a kick. As Sid prepared to dodge, Forge had changed, faking him out for a punch. While the scrafty’s arms seemed frail and weak, years of training have left him with enough strength to pack a punch as much as an above average human without having to resort to using his attacks, which was the goal of this.
Even if he wasn’t a fighting type, Sid would go through a training session with his team to focus on their strong and weak points. If hand to hand combat was not their forte, he would have them deal with things such defense, speed, and more. Forge was the only one of his team that he could regularly spar with without any problems on either side despite his attitude. Off the field, the scrafty was a tad shy, and fighting seemed to be the only way he could get his feelings out. The human and Pokemon continued trading blows and kicks for minutes at a time before Sid held up a hand, signifying to stop.
The two shared a small bow and a handshake before sitting on the ground near each other.
“Is something the matter? You were kind of distracted back there.”
Forge nodded, pushing two of his fingers together. “Er, yeah. Was just thinking about, you know…outside. We’ve been here for a while, why can’t we leave the island, at least for a bit?”
Sid grunted and sighed. He adjusted his jacket-cape, clipping it off and giving a shrug of his shoulders. “Sorry, but work. Maybe when they let up, we can have some fun, eh? This is just so none of us go stir crazy.” He commented, patting the Pokemon on the back. Forge cracked a grin and stood up to stretch, bringing up his signature baggy pants.
“How about one more spar before we go back?”
Sid nodded and stood up with a grunt, cracking his knuckles and neck.
