The moon was high in the night sky, illuminating the world below in an almost eerie, yet beautiful light. It was quiet, like the forest itself was holding its breath, waiting for the moment spring would come and melt away the sparkling white blanket that covered the ground. Taking a breath, Michi tore her eyes away from the glistening tree branches covered with frost and snow and looked up at the night sky. Amazing how still, peaceful even the night was, nothing compared to the chaos the morning brought. Night was the only time Michi felt safe enough to venture outside, there weren't many people in the park then. This way, it was less likely that she would get sick from the sheer amount of emotions pressing against her senses.
It had been Sora, her Starly that had finally convinced Michi to venture outside. She deserved a break after all and perhaps some fun would get her to relax, or so the Starly believed. Ever since he had finally convinced Michi to leave the toxic environment she had called home, she had become more withdrawn despite being determined to find her parents. Sora worried about Michi in truth and hoped that this way she would be able to be happy, at least for a brief moment. While his trainer wasn't watching, the Starly formed a snowball as best he could with his wings and threw it at Michi, laughing at the startled yelp she gave upon impact.
Distracted as Michi was by the star-filled night sky, she hadn't expected the snowball that hit her in the leg. Turning to see the mischievous smirk on her Starly's features, Michi laughed and formed her own snowball,"I'll get you for that, Sora,"she replied, snowball already in hand. It seemed Sora had other plans as he took flight, effectively dodging the projectile; his ploy had worked after all, Michi was finally having fun. Not long after, Michi's footsteps could be heard running after him, refusing to give up so easily. Besides, it was the dead of night, the likelihood of anyone finding her was slim to none. For once Michi could let her guard down and just have fun and that was more than enough for now.
