Personality:
- HARD TO ANGER - It's very difficult to piss this man off as he will usually avoid conflict all together, or "let things slide" every single time. If he is pulled into an argument, it will be one sided. Instead of running away from an argument, he will stand there and not say anything. However, it is still possible to anger the man, depending on how personal the argument or complaint happens to be.
- EASY GOING - Normally, he walks around in a rather upbeat manner, smiling and things of the like. Purely positive and would rather not look at the negative side of things for he deems it unhealthy for one's mind. He often tells jokes, no matter how lame many people think they may be. Some people think of him as laid back, he says otherwise.
- CARING - Hugh is a highly caring individual, hence why he quit being a lawyer as soon as he received his licence for he did not like all of the money grubbing in court. A caring individual that would halt his life in order to take care of his grandparents, or his parents as he would say due to the fact that they were the ones who raised him. He is the type of person to put his life on the line for others. The one to donate his last dime to someone else in need.
- OVERLY BLUNT - Despite so many pluses to his personality, he is unnaturally blunt. His sense of humor is rather dull, and he seems a bit too laid back at times. Perhaps it's just one more reason for women to not like him, but hey at least he tried.
- GENEROUS - Generous. A bit too generous. This goes hand in hand with him being caring. He will often offer things to those that are less fortunate, or seemingly less fortunate. Nine times out of ten, people take his kindness for granted.
- EASILY MANIPULATED - It is not uncommon to see someone take his kindness for granted, or to see a woman try to get with this man solely for the few dollars that he may have on hand. He's a complete sweetheart, but being a sweetheart will get you nowhere fast in Nada Citadel.
BACKGROUND:
History:
- Orphaned - Hugh never knew his father, nor his mother. The only memory he has of his mother are from the photographs his grandparents would often show him as a child. When he was born, he had been his mother's first child and as all people may know, childbirth is not easy, even with modern technology and experienced medical care. The boy's mother sadly knew from the beginning that she may not survive her birth for she had always been a weak, fragile woman. Getting pregnant had been a mistake, but she never wanted her baby boy to know that. Half way through her pregnancy she had mailed her own parents a letter, telling them to give it to her child when he was old enough. They didn't understand why their daughter was acting in such a manner for they never knew that she was not physically able to carry a child and survive. In truth, her doctor had advised her to get an abortion, but she had stubbornly declined. When her baby boy had came into the world, she had already passed on to the next.
- Nanny Marie - Marie had been a wise Kangaskhan that had stood alongside Hugh's mother for a great number of years, and when she saw her master declining she vowed to watch after her trainer's child, for she herself had lost her child a few years back. The Kangaskhan would cuddle and hold baby Hugh until the grandparents arrived onto the scene. While Grandma Dolly would mourn over her daughter almost immediately, Grandpa Sam would only stare stone faced before taking the bundled baby away from the Kangaskhan and gesturing for her to lead Dolly away from her daughter and back into his vehicle where they return to their home out in the suburbs. The grandparents had not expected that they would have to raise another child once they had seen their own three children grow up, leave the house and have children of their own. Where they could not do as much as they could in their younger years, Marie would pitch in and carry the baby around in her pouch, even teaching him how to talk and walk once he was old enough. Aside from a nanny, Marie would later become Hugh's very first pokemon.
- GIFTS - When he turned eight, he soon discovered that he wasn't an ordinary kid. He could move the earth and soil with a flick of his hand, an earth bender! His grandparents were amazed, but they had always thought of their grandson as special, and such a trait only made them hold him even tighter at night, and love him tenfold. When he turned ten years of age, it came time for the grandparents to hand him the letter his mother had instructed them to present to her child at the time. Inside the letter was a strange orb and bracelet, a Blazekinite and mega ring, such rare materials! Apparently, his own mother had been a trainer and aside from her Kangaskhan Marie, had also owned a Blaziken who had once utilized the mega orb. Following the directions in the letter, the grandparents and child would soon find themselves at a farm for Torchic and its evolution line and the boy was soon presented with his second Pokemon, a bouncy, feisty, yet intelligent young Torchic. A cousin to the Blaziken his mother had once had years prior. Hugh would come to call the red bird Tracey, and they would form an inseparable bond that would be expected of a young child and pokemon.
- EDUCATION - Hugh wasn't the type of kid to stand out much in school. He didn't involve himself with the popular kids, or any other clique for that matter. In truth, everyone thought something was wrong with the kid, the way he always kept his nose in a book, or looked the other way when someone looked his way. Hugh continued on with his education and due to his hard work towards earning scholarships, he was able to pay for his tuition to an elite academy where his grandparents could not afford. At eighteen years of age, he graduated from high school and attended an elite academy overseas, bringing on his close partner, Tracey, with him. There he graduated at the top of his class with a degree in business and decided to take up being a lawyer, something he had aspired to be since he had been a little boy.
- THE HOODY - As he was walking to his dorm, the acrid scent of burning smoke hit his nostrils and he immediately turned on his heels and ran towards the smoke in the distance. It didn't smell like the typical, 'building on fire' kind of smoke, so he was stunned when he discovered a burnt, wounded human body. He didn't bother to ask "are you okay" because it was obvious. The man immediately phoned 911 before removing his hoody and offered it to the unidentifiable individual. As soon as the ambulance arrived on the scene, Hugh left.
- LIES - After being a young upstart lawyer for no more than a year, he quit the profession all together. Hugh had always been a good man, and he did not appreciate how people lied to one another in court for the pure sake of money and allowing guilty men to walk without consequence while the innocent were forced to stand behind bars for something they did not do. While he had been a lawyer, a handful of women had become interested in the young man, yet Hugh's sweet and generous disposition often led to women betraying him or using him for the pure sake of his money, or bragging rights that they were dating a lawyer. After quitting the profession mere weeks after receiving his license, he disposed of it and returned back home.
- FAMILY BUSINESS - After spending so many years in college, Hugh had neglected to notice how rapidly his grandparents were declining in health. Seeing that he really didn't have anything to do, he volunteered to take care of his grandparents and manage the family restaurant. He'd often have to deal with his grandmother always murmuring a question 'when will you give me grandchildren Huey' every single morning. Due to having so much on his plate at this point, he is rather lost in life. No luck with the women either, what's a man to do?
- SECRETS - Much like he had been doing in his free time much of his life, Hugh participated in battles whenever he still had time. At one point in his life he had wanted to become a gym leader, but the restraints on his life would not allow him to do so. As he was training with his Pokemon after closing up the restaurant one night, he remembered the strange orb that his mother had left to him in her will of sorts. Neither he nor Tracey knew how to work it, but he always kept it on both of them for his mother had stated that they would discover how it worked when they needed it the most. Hugh doesn't talk much about his mega evolution items, neither does Tracey, for they understand how valuable it is and that anyone may try to steal the item.
- HELPING HAND - Another past time that Hugh took on was working in the soup kitchen, and at the shelter once to twice a week. He feels sorry for the ones that are unfortunate and tries to help in any way he can. He looks at their situation as though he were in their position.
- PRESENT - In present day Remoor, Hugh still looks after his grandparents, runs the family business and trains his Pokemon while participating in battles. He was fortunate enough to not have to participate in the gruesome war, not that he would have wanted to because he is strictly Anti-Pravus due to a dislike in the 'secrets' Pravus hides from its inhabitants. He still has not had any luck in the relationship department, and is rather a lonely man, aside from a few acquaintances and friends. He is still trying to figure out the mystery of the mega stone he holds.
