Tch... can't believe this is the best place...
It was a rather clear evening in the Nada Citadel, the sun starting to set over the horizon to pass its last hours of light upon Memorial Park. Thankfully, the park was a rather expansive place, large enough to accommodate whatever functions the city needed to fence off. Of course, this still wasn't an ideal place for Nuru to be, especially when he was trying to tail someone. All of these open fields? Just what was he supposed to do to keep himself hidden?
Well, he tried his best to slip in with the crowd. Since it was starting to get cold out, the Gardevoir could get away with wearing a thicker coat and a hood, such that one could only pick his identity as a Pokemon out by looking at him from the front, and in most cases, even a Gardevoir wouldn't draw more than a glance from most people. He kept to himself, briskly gliding across the side-walk, checking the position of the sun intermittently.
Dang it... why does she have to live on the station? I could have been through with this anywhere else! Tch... I have to deal with this now, before they get even more on my scent!
It was rather unfortunate for the criminal. Ordinarily, such an occurrence wouldn't draw his eye, but this... 'Sarah', apparently, was getting too close to the truth, and Nuru didn't have nearly the power needed to stand off against the whole city's police by himself! If she caught on too well, Nada wouldn't be a safe-enough place for the clone anymore. This was completely unacceptable!
Fortunately, he had the opportunity to tail behind this detective for a few days, figuring out her patterns. With some variation, Nuru came to the conclusion that it was common for Sarah to spend an evening at the park, to collect her thoughts and the like. And, it was here that she liked to stay away from the crowds to be able to think in peace: here was the most consistent place he could find her alone!
Thus, where the gravel road verged right, Nuru walked towards the left, over a grassy hill. It would be a good distance, before the Gardevoir would stop, behind a tree, and focus out a faint psychic aura, just to see if anyone else was there.
If there was, he wanted to be through with this quickly...

Sarah stood, looking out in empty space with Bogart at her side. She was ignoring everything around her, lost in thought about the case they were investigating. She was confident enough to do that here, because there still people around. And her Zangoose partner was looking out for her. He'd warn her if anything untoward came their way. But right now, the detective needed the partial solitude of the park. This investigation required all of her mentality, and she was damned if she let anything sway her concentration.
Fact 1: She was dealing with a criminal that was in no way regretful. The way he dealt with the trio was ruthless in the extrme, and he seemed well in his mind when he had done so.
Fact 2: It was a pokemon culprit. She was able to view that much during her visions. They were rare, but not too unexpected with the relative freedom they were given.
Fact 3: The criminal lived in the slums, and had a feared reputation.
Fact 4: This was not the first crime commited, but the first one with fatal results. The other victim was saved only because of the intervetion of Pravus, the people who employed her. They likely knew the connection, and it was probably the reason she was hired.
A violent pokemon, a violent psychic pokemon at that. Sarah didn't yet know why he had attacked th three fighting types, but she wagered it required little goading. He seemed to enjoy the kills. She'd have her hands full with this one, and that was another fact. But now she should try and search the slums. Somewhere near there was where this killer called home. The warehouses would be a safe bet. She would start there.

Spacing out as usual... perfect.
This was as ideal as it was going to get for the Gardevoir. Though it was still a somewhat public place, and there was a good chance that someone would catch a whiff of what he was about to do, he still had his coat as a disguise, and there didn't seem to be anyone watching him.
It was just him hiding behind the tree, Sarah a bit further down the hill, and a Zangoose keeping watch. Sarah seemed intent on staring out in one direction, the annoying normal type keeping watch around the scene.
That's alright. I'll just blow her away before the Zangoose has a chance to react... don't think there's anything a normal type can do to stop me if I knock her out. Keeping behind the tree, the Gardevoir closed his eyes and focused, bringing his palms together to create a powerful Shadow Ball between his fingers.
He wanted this over quick: turning around the tree, the disguised Pokemon raised its palm, and fired off his Shadow Ball: like a demented cannon ball, it flew down the hill, aimed straight for the center of Sarah's back!
Die!

Sarah's mind was involved with finding the puzzle pieces and placing them together. Everything she and Bogart had found, placed into orderly conclusions. It was somehow rather zen, and the Private Eye was struck with some measure of tranquility since the beginning of the investigation. She wasn't letting her guard down so much as finding solace in a familiar and ordered activity. Of course, she had no idea that the culprit was on to her, and was mostly unprepared at his retaliation. It was only thanks to the sharp eyes of her partner that she was able to manage.
The Zangoose caught movement near the top of a hill and yelled out his partner's name. Without missing a beat, without even a single hesitation, Sarah fell forward and came back up in a roll. The shadow ball chipped off the bark of another tree before fizzling out, and didn't so much as clip the detective. Without the disorientation of someone just attacked, Sarah had pulled out her colt and both her an bogart faced where the attack had come from.
"Come on out, criminal. You wont' be dealing with me so easily as you did the three fighters. Surrender now and I'll make it easy on you."

Missed the mark, huh?
Well, that was irritating to say the least. As soon as he confirmed that his attack sailed straight over the detective's head, the disguised Gardevoir retreated back behind the tree, back stiff and mind far more focused than he was before. Briefly, his hands clenched into tight fists, teeth gritted in frustration with what Sarah was saying. How dare that mere human give her such an order... ugh, this was frustrating! And he was so confident that he could get away with this cleanly, too. He had half a mind just to go and-
No, he couldn't. If he lost control here, much more than a detective would be after him; he couldn't do anything to draw a crowd. Slowly, his hands relaxed, Nuru's composition calming down a bit.
This is fine, just calm down and extend out your senses. There's more than one way to off this wench...
It wasn't as if he was concerned about Sarah's threat, anyway. Push came to shove, he'd just teleport off before she got close and try and run off. It was then that he stared down, and smirked: they were at the park, now weren't they? Well, maybe Nuru's ghostly powers wouldn't be enough, but this villain had more than one trick up his sleeve. With a 'pulse', Nuru's eyes glowed a faint green, connecting with the meadow below his feet. Slowly, he confirmed Sarah's location, as best he could using his psychic potential.
In the next few moments, the grass around the detective would stir: growing into vines, it would snake up and try and constrain Sarah's ankles in its binds! It was rare indeed, but Nuru's grass knot was finally coming into use! Let's see how you deal with this, you cur!

Sarah almost believed they were at a standstill, herself and Bogart at the ready on one end, the psychopath hiding at the other. She did, however, curse her clumsiness. The young P.I had allowed the culprit to get wind of her investigation and had crept up on her. She should have been more vigilant, and it would probably cost her. Well, there was some silver lining she supposed. An early encounter with her criminal. If she was lucky, she could cut the rest of the investigation now and take the pokemon in for trial. Of course, her enemy wasn't going to go down easy, no matter what Sarah had on her side. A colt pistol and Bogart's claws were threat, but not to someone who had torn through a family of fighting pokemon as easily as she would wet paper. This stand still wouldn't last long, and someone was going to get hurt. Before the pokemon had a chance to get away, however, she would have to make her move. A single gesture to her partner, and they were both moving up the hill.
It was the fact that she was moving that saved her from binding. Her feet weren't on the ground long enough for the grassy vines to wrap around, and once she noticed what the flora was doing she was careful to keep it that way. Another sneak attack, foiled by chance. This was a clever opponent, and it'd probably take that chance for her to capture him. "Give up, criminal, before things go out of hand. You will not find us so easy to tear through as your last victims."
