"...Why did you make me wear this ridiculous outfit?"
Jace glared at the little Torchic beside him, shifting uncomfortably in the Meowstic costume as he stood just outside the door to his home, receiving strange looks from the people on the street. The costume was well designed and everything, but it was for a woman. Whether this was Sunny's jab at his recent coming out of being gay or what, he didn't find it funny in the slightest, but he didn't have anything else to go as and he had promised Vice that he would take him out trick or treating or to the ball thing with the costume contest.
The costume was that of a Meowstic, a female Meowstic, and Vice had gotten the male version. Jace would've quickly taken it if it hadn't been a thousand sizes too large. And now he was stuck wearing a dress with gloves and boots and a pair of ears sitting on top of his head. He felt absolutely ridiculous. Sunny merely laughed at him, chirped and wandered back inside. He sat in front of the apartment, waiting for Vice to emerge from the house.
Jace's arms were crossed and his back to the door, looking particularly cranky and flustered, the blush across his face obvious to that fact. He felt so exposed, so girly, and just so.....embarrassed. He didn't even want to do this. He wanted to stay at home, curl up in his blanket, and watch a movie or something. Vice could go by himself. At that thought, he sighed, ...That would be mean of me... Plus, he would much rather have him there in the blanket with him.
The male muttered something again and waited quietly.

VICENZO [ RAIKOU ] ABBOT While Vice didn’t quite understand the concept of this human invention known as Halloween, he did appreciate the chance to tease the hell out of Jace. The small male had looked so embarrassed at the costume his own Pokémon was making him wear that he had a hard time containing his laughter. However, knowing how self-conscious his mate was, the legendary had stolen a quick kiss and told him how cute he would look – and practically sprinting out of the room before Jace could think to throw something at him.
Shiloh had followed after him closely as he went to change in their bedroom, and watched as Vice frowned at the Meowstic ears that were supposed to go over his head. “This looks fucking ridiculous,” he grumbled under his breath, rolling his eyes in exasperation at the Jolteon as she giggled. He had to resist the urge to chuck the stupid accessory at the wall.
Despite his words, the legendary would do whatever it took to make his mate happy. Even if it meant dressing in this ridiculous, Arceus-forsaken outfit, it wouldn’t matter if Jace smiled in the end. That was what was important here.
Though it still amused him greatly that Sunny had managed to convince the small male to wear the female version to his own costume – as though it were intended, which Vice wouldn’t be surprised if it was. That bird had a way about her.
“Come on, Vice,” Shiloh called out to him when he was distracted, nudging his leg with her paw, “don’t want to keep Jace waiting.” The legendary glanced down at her, and muttered something irritably in Italian as he adjusted his costume uncomfortably. Jace had told him about the strange human rituals concerning Halloween, and despite his dislike of them, he was curious. What did dressing in idiotic costumes and receiving candy have anything to with a holiday that, according to what his mate told him, originally celebrated ghosts and spirits?
Vice made his way back towards where he was certain Jace was waiting for him, costume ears in hand. He truly did not want to wear this stupid thing – what else could these useless ants come up with, honestly – but it was part of the costume. The legendary scoffed at the thought quietly, wrinkling his nose in response. It was a wonder he could even tolerate the stench in this city.
It was when he was at the door where he caught a glance of his mate, and Vice couldn’t help but grin a little at the sight of him. “Don’t you look cute,” he drawled teasingly, coming to a stop behind the small male and leaning down to press a kiss to his forehead. The silver-haired male waved the costume ears now. “Do I have to wear these?” he asked, sounding more like a put-out five year old than a centuries old legendary.
