"Oh! The woman's sea glass blue eyes lit up excitedly as she saw the haunted house. It was so close, too! How convenient! The blessed mutant was practically dancing on her toes in the silly Vaporeon themed dress-costume she was wearing, which flowed around her in waves and stood out against her tanned skin and long blonde hair, which was intricately braided and dressed up in various blue trinkets down her back.
"August! It's a haunted house! Oh, Arceus, this is so exciting!" Surprisingly, Vivian and Phoebe enjoyed haunted houses, so this would certainly be fun. Though, with her grip on the man's hand and her tugging him towards it, she had to remember that he likely didn't know what a haunted house was. She was simply excited to have him back, fulfilled and happy to have him near, like nothing bad had ever happened.
Hope paused before the steps that led up to the door of the haunted house, turning to him with a grin, "Haunted houses are fun. They're not really haunted, I promise, but they're meant to be scary. Will you go in with me? I'll hold your hand if you get scared." Her grin was bright and her tone was teasing. Halloween was only something so recent to come into the human world, but, oh, how she certainly loved it!

August couldn’t help but smile brightly at the excitement that practically bubbled out of Hope’s body, his hold on the woman’s hand gentle and firm as she tugged him this way and that through the countless streets of the city. He didn’t mind that she could barely sit still during this day of celebrating All Hallows Eve, content to follow her wherever she led him. The blessed mutant was simply happy to have her back in his arms after those long years of unwanted separation, thanking Arceus for the thousandth time since he had found her again that she was safe. He truly was fortunate, to be able to love her like this and to have her by his side once more.
He squeezed her hand, intertwining their fingers together in a tender way as he listened to her upbeat chatter with that same warm smile. He easily bantered with her, as though they were back in those simple days when they had first fallen in love. August was entirely grateful.
To match Hope’s costume, he was dressed as a Flareon. He wore a suit of the brightest orange, flecked with red and gold to match the coat of the Pokémon, with similar bursts of color in his hair. The shade complimented his tanned skin and brightened his green eyes, though he had initially been embarrassed of the costume. (Hope had assured him that it looked perfect, despite his compliment that she looked far more beautiful.)
When Hope spotted the haunted house, August looked up curiously and blinked at the old building in front of them, tilting his head. Though he knew of All Hallows Eve and its older traditions, he was not fully aware of what exactly these new practices were. Such as a haunted house: was it truly haunted? Were there ghosts? Before he could ask Hope, she was already tugging him forward eagerly. His smile widened in response, stepping in time with her easily, and as she paused on the steps he simply looked at her. August was sure at that moment that he had never seen anyone more beautiful than this stunning woman in front of him.
At her words, the brunette male laughed gently and squeezed her hand once more. “Now what sort of question is that, my love? Of course I’ll go in with you.” Verdant eyes danced in amusement at her tease, and he lifted their joined hands to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to the back of her hand. “I will keep a hold on your hand if you keep a hold on mine,” August said, giving her a boyish grin. He bowed his head to her slightly and stepped in front of her to hold open the door for her, gesturing for her to go first. “After you, my lady.” | WORDS: 470 TAGS: @hope NOTES: my replies to these keep getting longer CREDIT: LAIKA OF GS! |

The feeling of his hand in hers, of having some kind of warm embrace of his around her once again...that was such a wonderful feeling. The pain was practically gone, the ache of being alone for nearly fifty years, of living with the regret and the pain of thinking she had killed him, that she had been the cause of her own loneliness. But he was there, holding her own hand within his, intertwining their fingers. She prayed to Arceus he would never let go, would never leave her again, but she had to rely partially on herself as well. She had to keep taking that medicine and try to keep her personalities under control; losing that control scared her most...
"Good! I was gonna drag you in anyways~" She laughed a little and leaned up on her toes to kiss his chin. "But only because I want to spend the time with you." Hope wanted to spend every waking moment of her life with the man that she could, and she could do that forever, and she wanted that. She felt she had messed up, and badly, but...she had not been punished. She had wondered why she had not been punished in any way, not been removed from her position as guardian of the fountain. She felt the blush touch at her cheeks when he kissed her hand. "Always the gentleman, my sweet knight..."
The murmur was gentle on her lips and she gazed at him with such a warm love, her heart was blossoming forth with that sensation and she was reminded again why she loved him so. "I will never let go of your hand... Not again..." She squeezed his hand lightly as she did so, slipping inside and grasping his hand again as they went in. The darkness enveloped them as the door closed behind them, holding his hand tightly. To be honest, part of her was a little anxious to enter the haunted house, and she clung to his waist almost tightly, in the case that she did get scared. She was more worried about him stabbing something, though... The thought made her giggle a bit. "Not scared yet, are you?"
"Hope speaking." Hope thinking. @august
