PERSONALITY:
Likes:
- Sherry - It's true, Cass does like to treat herself to a glass of sherry every once in a while. She isn't one to drink for no apparent reason. If everyone else is drinking around her, sure she will join them and drink whatever is available. But her favourite is by far this special drink. You should consider yourself lucky if she ever invites you to join her for a glass.
- Sports bras - It may seem bizarre, and really it is, but Cass prefers to wear sports bras compared to your average bra. She finds them more comfortable, and there is no doubt that they provide better support, which is just what a woman needs when there is no telling what your job might require you to do. This odd fact about her often gives people quite the shock when she chooses to not wear a sports bra. She's more defined in the chest area than she lets on, something that often comes as a pleasant surprise to men, and even some women, when she is forced to wear a dress, or something a little more… Revealing.
- Her uncle - Though he is part of her family, and there is a part of her, a severely blackened smear on her heart that hates him just as much as the rest of her family, a part that constantly reminds her of all the horrible things he has done in past years… There is the smallest hint, the tiniest of smudges deep within that still clings to the ghost of a memory she remembers as her love for him. Growing up, he had always been her hero, her true 'father', and the part of her that still clings to her youthful innocence, sheltering it from the cruelty of the world remembers him as the good man he was, her knight in shining armour.
- Her gang - Because she considers them as her family, Cass feels a certain connection to them. She would give almost anything to protect them. When people join her gang, she gives them a single promise from her, an invisible contract that binds you to her with words alone. "Remain loyal to me, and I will be loyal to you". This single statement gives her word that as long as you are beneath her, as long as you swear your loyalty to her, she will protect you to the very best of her ability. Break your end of the deal, and you might as well be dead.
- Her Pokemon - Each one of them holds a special place in her heart. No matter how cold she may appear on the outside, she cares about them, as a mother would care for her child. She is hesitant, reluctant to use the word love, believing in the idea that today's society has corrupted and destroyed such an emotion, but if she loves anything in this world, it is without question her Pokemon. Each one has received the same promise that she offers the members of her gang, and each one of them is fiercely loyally to her.
- Pain - It reminds her that she is still alive, still human. She has made it this far in a life that has been trying to destroy her since the beginning. Whether she be the one inflicting the pain, or the one receiving it, she gets a thrill. When it comes to receiving pain, she'll bare it almost silently, only releasing the occasional cry when it all becomes too much. As for inflicting pain, the woman does so in one of two ways. Either she'll hold whatever instrument she has chosen to bring you pain, or she'll decide, if you're really 'lucky', that you deserve "The Reckoning". Those two innocent (or not so innocent) words are two of her favourites to speak when it comes to this topic. It is around here that anyone chosen for this special treatment gets to meet her two boys, Armageddon and Apocalypse, two Pokemon who will find a way to hurt you until their mistress is pleased.
- Spongebob Squarepants - Another bizarre little quirk, but a true one. Every Wednesday, this gang leader turns on the TV and tunes in to watch the popular children's show. This habit was probably derived over her younger years, where she would sit with her uncle and watch Spongebob. Though she doesn't sit to watch just the show anymore, she will still turn it on, as background noise while she is doing work, occasionally glancing up to watch the silly antics of that yellow character.
- Blackmail - Being one of the Queens of Blackmail, it is no wonder this woman enjoys it so much. It heightens her feeling of control, knowing that she can collect information on just about anyone she wants, and compile the perfect list to destroy or manipulate them. She finds it an effective way to get almost anyone to do exactly what she wants them to do. You better watch out. You never know what she might have on you.
- Sex - Though Cass doesn't believe in love, this is one activity she will take part in from time to time. She uses it as a stress reliever, and only with those who think of it in the same way. She doesn't 'make love'. She only fucks.
- Being tied up - This is perhaps one of her closest guarded secrets, but nonetheless, it is true. There is something… Thrilling to her, something that strikes a chord deep within her. It might sound completely backwards, but there is something about being bound that makes her feel… Free. The total loss of control experienced when bound is makes her feel as though, for a moment in her life, she doesn't have to be strong or in control. Ceasing her control is her release.
Dislikes:
- Smoking - Anything to do with smoking, this particular woman despises. The scent, the sight, anything. It is recommended that if you choose to partake in this activity, you keep it well away from Cass. Oh, and if you're entering her office after having recently smoked, you better use the air freshener that she keeps near the entrance. It's there for a reason. She is not about to tolerate it. Her deep-seated hate for the activity more than likely arises from the fact her father used to smoke, as well as the addiction she developed in regards to it a few years back. She has managed to quit, though she does occasionally find herself craving them. It goes as far as she will often find herself holding a pen in her hands or to her lips as though it were a cigarette. When she notices what she's done, the anger and unmistakable despise she has for them becomes clear in her eyes.
- Dresses or Skirts - She isn't a big fan of either of those more 'feminine' outfits. She finds them incredibly irritating, constantly riding up, or restricting her movement. This isn't to say that you will never catch her in a dress. When the occasion presents itself, she will reluctantly wear a dress or a skirt, and rock the hell out of it too. Other than that, she would much prefer to stick to her jeans or other suitable pants.
- Disloyalty - This is something Cass will not tolerate. You are either loyal to her, and listen to what she says, or get the hell out. Her gang and those who follow her are her family, and she sees it as her job to ensure the security of everyone beneath her. She will do anything to ensure the members of her gang are as close to safe as can be when involved with an Anti-Pravus gang. She takes her job seriously, and will not tolerate even the smallest hint of disloyalty.
- Her family - She has been living with a deep-seated, burning hatred for her family for a long time now. It began with her father, but soon it grew to encompass anyone with genes related to hers at all. In her mind, they are nothing but rich bastards who care about no one but themselves. This hatred is what pushed her to rip through the ranks of her father's organized crime ring and eventually claim it as her own. Some think she is a monster for overthrowing her own father. It is usually these people who refer to her by the nickname The She-Devil.
- Drugs - For a woman who runs one of the largest crime rings in Remoor, dealing drugs among other things, it might seem absolutely ridiculous that she would hate drugs. But it's the truth. She does not think highly of people who decide to use drugs, and isn't afraid to show it when talking with someone who uses, or about someone who uses. Though she isn't about to tell you what you can and cannot do, Cassandra discourages the use of drugs by those within her gang.
- Fairy types - When she was younger, Cassandra often found herself wishing she could be a fairy, or own a Fairy type Pokemon. However, as Cassandra grew older, she began to develop a hatred for this particular type of Pokemon. She finds it too closely associated to her younger years, and events that she has no desire to revisit.
- The color pink - This particularly bright and cheery color is immediately linked to the fact that many Fairy type Pokemon are of some sort of pink color. She will never be caught wearing the lighter shades of pink, though the ones that lean towards fuchsia do not bother her as much as such stupid colors as neon pink.
- Fish - No, this has nothing to do with Magikarp or Feebas. When she mentions a dislike of fish, she is referring to the food group. It could easily be marked as she hates seafood, much preferring to stick to her red meats, except for the fact she seems to be able to tolerate, and maybe even enjoy calamari. When it comes to actual fish, however... She would never be caught dead eating tuna, salmon or anything of the sort.
- Murder - After an event in her past, Cassandra has made her very best effort not to kill anyone. She will torture and maim until they beg for mercy, until they cry out in pain, but she much prefers to not end their life. This isn't to say that, if it is in the best interest for her gang, for their safety, she won't do it. Because she will. The gang always comes first. However, much like the use of drugs, she discourages killing as a way of solving problems. There is too much work involved in the cleanup of a killing, work and effort that could have been directed somewhere else, and put to better use.
- Clowns - Don't even bring up the subject of those bastards with Cassandra. Her coulrophobia has left her with a deep-seated hatred towards them. Even though she may be against the idea of killing anyone, if there is anyone in the world she is willing to break that belief for, it is clowns. In her mind, they all deserve to die the most horrifyingly painful deaths known to man or Pokemon, so that they may go and rot in Hell where they came from. She would happily live out the rest of her life without so much as a brief sighting of a clown.
Strengths:
- Blackmailing - This woman has an uncanny ability to gather information on just about anyone. She is ruthless in her search, and won't stop until everything she needs has been collected. This can occasionally leave her as seeming overly strict from the perspective of those working for her. She has been referred to before as the Queen of Blackmail, and it is not simply a title in this case. The only question is... What does she have on you?
- Technology - She seems to have a natural affinity for technology, and is comfortable on just about anything electronic. Though she may not be a professional hacker, she knows a trick or two and can usually get herself into whatever she needs. And if it just so happens that something has her stumped? She has the resources to get herself someone who can get it for her.
- Persistent - As briefly mentioned before, Cassandra will not stop until she gets what she wants. She is perfectly content to let it slide, make you feel as though she has forgotten about something, only to have it launched back at you when you least expect it. Her persistence can easily be named one of the strengths that got her to where she is now. You can't compile important information if you just give up when the going gets tough.
- Leadership/Commanding - It is often said that Cassandra has an air about her that seems to simply cause others to work harder, or drive them to listen to what she has to say. Now, whether that be simply because she can be terrifying when angered or not, she likes to think of it as a commanding aura. Though this tends to show more from Charlize the gang leader, some of it remains even when she tries to dispel it.
- Keeping her cool - It is no secret that this woman has a temper, and that when her temper is activated, you should run for cover. The trick here, however, is that she is quite in control of her anger, which appears in three different phases, most of which are calm (if not too calm). Preferring to stress words rather than yell, she can make it seem as though something isn't bothering her as much as it truly is, wrapping her victims in a false sense of security.
- Sadistic - Though it may seem bizarre to see this as a strength, Cass doesn't mind causing pain to others, in fact she takes a certain enjoyment from it. When it comes to searching for information, or protecting the members of her gang, she is perfectly comfortable making others suffer. She is a little more hesitant when it comes to inflicting pain on women, but if the need presents itself, she can and will bring herself to do so.
Weaknesses:
- Emotions - This isn't solely due to the fact that she thinks any showing of emotions is a sign of lack of strength. In truth, the thing that bugs her the most about emotions is the way they take her. During the day, she is able to hide most of her emotions, cramming them into the back of her mind in a tightly sealed bottle for safe keeping. However, nothing can stay hidden forever. If she doesn't busy herself with other activities, it is the night that gets to her the quickest. It is then, and only then, that her emotions manage to get the best of her. She would never admit it, and will fight to keep it a secret until the end of time, but she has cried herself to sleep more than once since the age of sixteen.
- Nikita Harris - Her uncle. She generally refrains from thinking about him, as such thoughts bring many emotions to the front of her mind. Should he be mentioned in front of her, she'll put up a wall that is even heavier than the one she normally carries, in hopes of keeping up her cold attitude. She'll play it off as though she doesn't care about the man anymore, even though the truth is far from that. If there is anyone in the world that could completely shatter everything she has built to this day, every wall, ever cold-hearted display, it is the man she once thought of as her own father.
- The past - Her weaknesses have a tendency to link into on another, creating something similar to a chain reaction, prepared to destroy her. Her uncle is a big part of her past, though he is not the sole item that leaves her feeling so empty most of the time. She does her best to avoid remembering much of her past, and has become quite skilled in the art of dodging questions that are asked about her past. It isn't something she wants to talk about, and if she has no desire to speak about it, it is highly likely you will never hear about it.
- Guilt - Though guilt could be considered an emotion, it has been separated for a reason. This is the one that affects her the strongest. Cassandra has a tendency, and a knack, for blaming herself for many things. She can't help but think that somehow it is always her fault. This really comes into play when something happens to one of the members of her gang. She thinks of herself as responsible for each individual within her gang, almost as though she were their mother, in some sense. This feeling of guilt isn't limited to her gang, however. Much of her feelings of guilt tie into events of her past.
- Masochistic - This seems to directly oppose her sadistic tendencies. Just because she likes to cause pain, doesn't mean she doesn't also enjoy being in some amount of pain. She sees it as her punishment, for everything she has ever done. It is a way to suppress her guilt, in a way. If she can take pain, she can pay for the mistakes she made in the past. It is a twisted way of thinking, but it is, at least, still a step forward compared to what she used to do to attempt to vent her emotions (hint: see scars on her wrist).
- Women - Ah yes, women. Being a tad bit on the feminist side, she has something that could almost be called a soft spot for them. She doesn't hold men in high regards, and believes that they really are nothing more than scum who's goal it is to stomp out the will of women, so that they might control them, claim them as their own. Whether it is this train of thought that leaves Cass almost completely unable to bring any sort of physical harm to a woman is still unknown. All that she can really make out from the mess that is her mind is that, though she is bisexual, she really only uses men to reach a certain high that women can't provide without the aid of extra tools. Otherwise, Cass has a preference for women.
Personality:
- Feminist - The fact that anyone might consider a woman as weak based solely on her gender makes Cass sick. She believes that women are just as capable, if not more so, than the men who think they rule the world. In fact, she might even go as far as to say that, if the head Pravus had been a woman rather than Ethan McKenna, perhaps the region of Remoor wouldn't have fallen to shit as it did. Or at least further progress in repairing it would have been made. She will not stand obediently and listen to you tear down the female gender. Her biggest pet peeve, one that will go as far as to tip her over the edge of her temper is when abuse is brought into the equation. Nothing angers her further than the question of sexual assault. She isn't afraid to get in the way and protect anyone who might be facing such a situation, especially if they are a woman within her gang. She takes it seriously, and if it was ever brought to her attention that a male member of her gang was acting inappropriately towards women without their consent, she would not hesitate to ban them form her gang.
- Cold - You might go as far as to call Cass the Ice Queen. On the surface, all you will meet is the wall she has built up over the years. She is detached, often putting space between herself and other. Should anyone attempt any sort of affection, she would simply regard them with empty eyes, and stiffly ask them to quit their nonsense. It isn't uncommon for her to wear a stone-faced expression. Due to the fact she views emotion as a weakness, it shouldn't be a surprise that she keeps a very frigid, unemotional air about her very waking moment of her day. The only time this iceberg of a wall crumbles away is when she is certain she is alone. Even then, she is hesitant to let it collapse all the way, fearing that she won't be able to build it back up in time to face the next day.
- Harsh - Perhaps due to her cold demeanour, she comes off as harsh. If you come to her seeking soft words of comfort during business hours, you are definitely barking up the wrong tree. The only thing you will find then is sharp words. She might even go as far as to tell you to get over it. The only exceptions to her harshness (and to most of her personality traits to be exact) is if you are a woman that has recently gone through a traumatic experience, or you are a woman who finds themselves tangled up with Cass 'after hours' so to speak.
- Strict - As Charlize, her voice always seems to carry an authoritative tone. Some say she was simply born to be some sort of leader, others say she was moulded into one by the mostly mysterious events of her past. Whatever you chose to believe, it should be noted that not obeying what she tells you to do could land you in a bad spot. She views disobedience as a form of disloyalty, unless you have an extraordinarily good reason for you disobedience. And disloyalty is not something Cass forgives easily. To her, there is a certain way you should behave yourself, and it would be in your best interest to behave yourself in said manner. Simple as that.
- Self-hatred - The particular characteristic is reflected in many of the details that she keeps hidden from the world, the biggest one being the scars that mar her wrists. Though she has more or less stopped that behaviour, there are still little clues that lead into her self-hatred. Her masochistic tendencies can be linked to this particular trait, along with her idea that literally everything terrible that befell those she cared about, or everything that befalls those in her gang is somehow her fault. Her mind finds a way to twist things in a way that leaves her eaten up by her guilt later on. And this behaviour continues as long as she isn't miserable. She thinks that, in some way, she doesn't deserve to be happy, and her thoughts to a perfectly dandy job of ensuring that she isn't.
- Calculating - It is often said that Cass has a tendency to be a little ruthless. Incredibly determined, and insistent that things be done correctly and on time, she spends a lot of her time figuring out the best way to perform a specific task. To say that she ever rushes headlong into things without a second thought would be a lie. With the exception of the few times she reacts impulsively, Cassandra puts an almost absurd amount of thought into everything she does, whether it be the perfect way to effectively execute a drop, or just what needs to be said during a meeting. If she is to get what she wants, she needs to devise a logical structure as to how she expects to get there, after all.
- Convincing/Manipulative - There is something about the way she conducts herself, something in the tone (or perhaps lack of tone) of voice she uses, that seems to tug at you. She has a subtle way of influencing others that, if you aren't careful, she'll find a way to get you to do anything she wants. The way she speaks when she wants you to do something... It is almost like a series of questions, asked one after the other. More than once, people have been left feeling like a child being spoken to by their mother when she is finished with them. It comes off as so innocently harmless, when it truth, it is more dangerous than a striking Arbok. There are times when her manipulative skills are just short of brainwashing. The younger the target, the more influential Cass' words become.
- Condescending - With the exception of one of the above traits, it is probably the collection of them that leads to this point. The way she faces the world with a sharp, emotionless attitude can often give off the impression that she thinks of herself as superior to others. She only puts forth this attitude to make herself feel as though she has control over the situations that may present themselves. If she is as high up as she can be, nothing can pull her down. The truth is that she thinks of herself as pretty freaking low. Not that she would ever let anyone find this out.
- Protective - Much like a mother Beartic and her cubs, Cassandra is fiercely protective of those she thinks may require her protection. The members of her gang will always have her promise of a place to stay, to live, and, in some twisted way, a family, so long as they swear their loyalty to her. She isn't one to let her gang members starve, or face trouble alone. The only exception to this is if the protection you require of her might put the gang as a whole in jeopardy. The needs of the many outweigh those of the few, this is her motto. Look at the bright side. She'll at least ensure your body (or whatever is left of it) undergoes a proper burial.
- Cynical - Oh yes, cynicism. She doesn't believe that anyone really operates for anyone but themselves. This might seem twisted, given the fact she seems to extend her aid to those in her gang. No, she isn't some sort of exception. She doesn't hold herself above others, saying such nonsense as "Everybody is a terrible person except for me". She recognizes the fact that, the most likely reason behind her willingness to extend help to others is in the expectation that, some time down the road they give something in return. That form of payment could simply be their loyalty, though she accepts almost any kind of payment.
- Sharp Minded - Though Cass never had the chance to attend university, and in fact just barely scraped by through the end of high school (mainly due to emotional instability), doesn't mean she isn't a smart person. She is a rather quick thinker, even under stress, which is a useful skill given her line of work. Though she wouldn't be able to help you finish your calculus homework, she has a mind that has managed to sneak her out of any previous troubles she may have encountered in her past. This trait is linked quite closely with her calculating manner. She has a sturdy ability to make judgment calls that bring about the best result for her, though they may effect others in a different manner. She does try to use her mind to uphold the "needs of the many" motto as best as she can.
- Occasionally Temperamental - Though she is generally able to keep a calm, albeit a little chilly, attitude about her, there are certain things that will push Cass that little smidgen over the edge, leaving you to face her anger. The anger comes in three different stages. The first is one that leaves her speaking with a tone that is even colder than it usually is. Her words are deliberate and slow, as though she were grinding her teeth while speaking, and she will be overtaken by a general tension in her shoulders. The second stage of anger is one that will actually have her raising her voice above a normal speaking tone. It is in this stage that she can get a little snappy, her words coming off like cracks of a whip rather than any sort of chill. Though this one may seem like the scariest, it is the third stage that should have you cowering in the corner. Should she be angered enough to enter her third stage of anger, you'll find that her speaking mannerism changes full circle. Her voice becomes something that is too sweet to be true, almost dripping with it, as though it would give you cavities should you be exposed to it for too long. She begins to overuse pet names, especially when referring to her Pokemon. If you find yourself faced with that tone, get out or you're pretty much done for.
- Isolating - This particular trait refers to her tendency to isolate herself from others. This includes all kinds of relationships. The only true relationship she has with anyone is the cold yet mother-like relation she has with her gang. Cass doesn't really have any friends, and had lost contact with the members of her family who are still alive. Not believing in love (at least temporarily) means that she has no true relationship with anyone who might occasionally share her bed. She thinks that, even if an abstract thing like love her possible, she doesn't exactly deserve anyone in that way. If things continue in this manner, she'll likely live out the rest of her life isolated and distanced from anyone else.
- Level Headed - Closely tied with her sharp-mindedness, one of Cass' strong suits is common sense. She has a good sense of what is right and what is wrong, and shifts her way of doing things to accommodate a situation. Her lack of emotional connection (or mostly) gives her the advantage that her judgment is rarely clouded by personal relationships. This trait also ties in with her usually calm demeanour. She does her best not to let anything get the best of her, preferring to approach any situation as an outsider, so that she can properly evaluate any aspects of a situation for herself, thus allowing her to solve it as quickly and efficiently as humanly possible.
BACKGROUND:
History:
- To say that young Cassandra was born into a normal household would have been a lie. The marriage that bound her parents, Boris Harris and Merissa Warner, was one of mere... Convenience. They had messed up, and that one slip up had left Merissa pregnant. Neither one of them truly cared about the child to come, but Boris' father had convinced him that it would be for the best, that it would look better if the two of them were married rather than have the child be aborted or born to two unwed individuals. And thus, the wedding took place. The two 'parents' had come to an agreement: they would play the game and put on a show if the public was ever witness. Otherwise, they were free to do as they pleased. Merissa was all too happy to be wed into a wealthy family. Still a relatively young woman, money was something important. It meant that she had more to spend. As for Boris.. He developped some darker habits.
- When the day of the actual birth came around, Boris was nowhere to be found. It was instead Nikita, Boris' younger brother, who would drive Merissa to the hospital as she entered the first stages of labour. It was a long labour, something that Merissa was not all too thrilled with. In her eyes, she had suffered for nine months already: did she really need to go through more suffering to get the damn child out of her? When finally she was free of the child, who happened to be a girl, Merissa was not all too concerned with holding it. Truth be told, the first person to hold the nameless child was Nikita, the child's uncle. When prompted for a name, Merissa shrugged slightly and announced the little girl's name to be Cassandra.
- After bringing the child home, the new parents agreed on hiring a caregiver for the child. Even after staring into those big, precious blue eyes, neither parents seemed all to concerned for the child. They figured everyone would be better off if someone else took care of it instead of them. Boris was far too busy with work, and Merissa had other things to attend to. It was up to this hired caregiver to care for the child. Nikita spent a fair amount of time with his niece, and it was obvious that there was something between the two of them. When Cass would look at her uncle, she would bare nothing but a smile of glee as she emitted a sound of joy, clapping her hands and reaching for her favourite person in the world. When Cass was old enough to begin actually eating, Nikita dismissed the caregiver, and began to seemingly take over as Cassandra's father.
- When Nikita married Robin, Cassandra was still too young to fully understand. She didn't know who the strange woman who seemed to accompany her uncle everywhere was. It took her a little while to warm to Robin, but with a woman as sweet as she was... It seemed inevitable. Though Robin was never quite on the same level as Nikita where Cass was concerned, the young toddler did grow to love the blonde woman. It became plenty obvious that, as Cass grew older, Nikita and Robin became her parental figures. She was always much happier with the two of them than she was with her biological parents.
- When Nikita and Robin had their first true child, little Cassandra was more than a little confused. There was suddenly this other child with them all the time! She would blink curious blue eyes at this smaller being, wondering just where it had come from, and how come Robin's belly was suddenly flat again? It was all so confusing to young Cassandra. As time wore on, however, Cassandra thought of little Meredith as her own sister. The two looked enough alike for it to be true.
- Robin and Nikita had their second biological child while Cass was in kindergarten. She was thrilled when she came home to find Robin with yet another little one cradled in her arms. Cassandra loved being the 'big sister'. She loved Meredith, and was more than willing to accept little Conner as her own brother. She spent as much time as she could with Nikita and his family, only returning to her house when it was absolutely necessary. But her house was no home. There was no happiness to be found here. As Cass began to grow and understand the usage of the telephone, calling her uncle's house became something she did frequently. If she was awoken in the middle of the night, terrified and crying because of a nightmare, she didn't call out for her parents. She stumbled with the phone, desperately dialling her uncle's number and hoping that someone, anyone would pick up. She always felt better when Nikita or Robin sleepily answered, only to pay her closer attention when she sobbed into the phone line. One of them always managed to make her feel safe again. They truly were her mom and dad, no matter what her birth certificate might claim.
- On her tenth birthday, young Cassandra had been so excited. She had finally hit double digits! She ran downstairs, hastily combing her blonde hair into something acceptable with her fingers. Whenever she took a moment to reflect on that day, she can't help but wonder what she was thinking. Why would her tenth birthday be any different than any of her other birthdays. And sure enough, Boris and Merissa were still asleep. She was left to prepare herself for school on her own. Her lunch had been packed the day before. She quietly poured herself some cereal for breakfast, plodded up stairs to change, and headed out to catch her school bus, bagged lunch in hand. It was an ordinary day. Disappointing even. Until the final bell at school rang. As she was leaving, heading to the bus that she recognized a familiar figure. Sure enough, her good old uncle Nikita. She had never been so happy to see that sleek black car in her life. Sure, she loved playing in his cars, and helping him with little tasks that involved the upkeep of his many, many cars. But in that moment... It felt as though someone truly did care that it was her birthday. And then he told her that he was taking her to Johto. The Johto region! She had never left Remoor. Her parents had no desire to travel. What had begun as a rather dull day, one she would have rather have started over, or erased from her memory for good, managed to morph into the greatest day of her life.
- Not too long after her return from Johto with Nikita, Cassandra had been on her way home from the bus stop when she noticed something out by the dumpster. It was a Pokemon. A little purple cat-like Pokemon. She hid behind a trashcan the moment Cass made any attempt to approach. For a few days, Cass began to sneak scraps of food from the table, or from her bagged lunch from school. She would slip outside when she figured no one was looking, and leave the little Purrloin the pieces of food. She felt so... Sad, seeing how hungrily the poor creature wolfed down the food. It was obvious that it had not eaten properly in a while. Cass wanted nothing more than to pick it up and tell it that it would be alright. Or course, the moment she attempted that, the feline lashed out, scratching her left arm before it fled. Cass ran back into the house and cleaned it up as best as she could. This continued for a while, until her uncle took note of the multiple claw marks that marred her pale skin. One day, he followed her. He was good at that, at making sure Cassandra didin't know he was following her. When he saw the poor Purrloin, wracked with malnutrition, he tossed a Pokeball at her, much to Cass' astonishment. With the Purrloin caught, Nikita knew he had some explanations to give Cass. He taught her everything she needed to know about caring for the damaged Pokemon, as well as training. Though Cass did understand the benefit of training, it was the care that really caught her attention. She fell in love with offering her unconditional love to the little cat. No matter how many times she was scratched in the process, she never gave up. There was one little problem, however. Both knew that Brois would never agree to letting Cass keep the Purrloin. This is were Nikita took a stand. Cass hid as best as she could, her hands over her ears. But not even that stopped her from hearing her father's voice as his voice rose against her favorite uncle. She never once heard Nikita's voice, but she could hear her father's voice, and that was enough. Even when things quieted down, she remained huddled where she was. She didn't dare come out until Nikita found her. He coaxed her out, holding her as she came out of her shock, and then he gave her the good news: She could keep the Purrloin, but she was to take classes, and if the cat ever needed to go to the Pokemon Center, she was required to take it there under her own power. It was here that the bond between Cassandra and Sarabi began.
- Nikita once again proved himself the best uncle Cass could ever imagine when he showed up with a gift for her twelth birthday. To begin, it quickly became apparent that he had brought her a Pokemon. But when she saw the Pokemon... It was then that she felt the flutter of her undeniable love for her uncle. The little golden Swablu, with feathers softer than what she imagined a cloud would feel like. He was perfect, absolutely perfect. She squealed excitedly, promising to love and care for him just as she had been doing for Sarabi over the past year. With a second Pokemon, one so special to her, Cass' collection began to grow, and with it, her happiness did too. With her two companions, it became easier to survive in her household. She didn't feel so alone with them by her side. And, much like she did whenever she was with Nikita and Robin and their children, she began to think that maybe things would look up for her in the long run.
- At the age of fourteen, an event happened that would stick with Cassandra for years. She had been wandering around her house, searching for something. To this day, she no longer remembers what she had been searching for. But she can still recall exactly what she stumbled upon when she entered the living room. No part of her can figure out why, of all the possible (more private) places available in their house, he chose the living room. But the living room was what he chose. To see your father 'doing the dirty', as it is -
At 14, first witness to her father's true nasty side. He doesn't seem to care she sees him, he smirks at her and continues- 'The last straw' is drawn at 16. She runs away from home after seeing her father rape someone. Person to go looking for her is Nikita. Beginning of the great downward spiral. Nikita finds her, he is scared. Strikes her, piece of her breaks.
- Back home, Cass is numb, closed up, antisocial save for with Pokemon. The war keeps Nikita busy, repairing the fracture between them is difficult
- When she turned 18, father tells her of arranged marriage. She disagrees, her father (drunk) gets fired up and argument ensues. Argument ends when he hits her. Cass runs to mother, last ray of hope for the world. Mother turns her away with nothing more than a shrug. The true last straw is drawn and Cass flees home for good.
- She cannot be found, father releases public disowning, claiming she is a trollop. Lives on the street, first months are the hardest. She is weak, vulnerable, and broken. She tries to end her life the first time a few months in, but fails
- Life doesn't get easier on the streets, though she begins to understand a little bit more. Second attempt at her life. Each leaves a distinct scar on her left wrist
- After a year, she finds a Nidoran, lost and scared. Takes it in, protects it and feeds it as best as she can. Cleo grows bodyguard-like towards Cass
- Third scar is added to her wrist.
- Cass rescues a Feebas, takes it under her care as well. To begin, rescuing the Pokemon was something done out of pity. Slowly realizes it means a little more to her, brings something that is almost like joy. Cleopatra and Mirabella become part of her family with Sarabi and Quince.
- When her fourth scar appeared on her right wrist, she was caught by Cleo, her whole team was devastated. She promised to try and stop
- She realized that she was steadily depleting the reserve of money she had taken. Begins to sell some belongings she feels she no longer needs. Doesn't question when Sarabi shows up after hours of disappearance with money. Uses it to feed her little family.
- She found an orphaned Larvitar and offered him a place in her little family. He hesitantly accepted and joined. He was first named Magnus, though he never quite seemed to like the name, though he didn't mind when she called him Mage.
- As she approached her 21st birthday, she found a Cyndaquil. He was terribly injured, beaten, bruised and obviously starving. He was in worse condition even than Sarabi so many years ago. He could not tolerate any touch, and reciprocated with reactions of absolute terror. He wouldn't come close to her at all for the first few weeks. She would leave food for him and leave him be. Slowly, the wounded Cyndaquil would stay out of his hiding spot for a little longer, and turn his terrified eyes to her. She steadily began to talk to him, in a soft, crooning voice. She would call to him softly, by the name Callum, though mostly just Cal for short. It would take a few more weeks before he began to actually respond to the nickname.
- Two and a half months after his discovery, he made his first approach. It was only Cass, he would not come near if any of her Pokemon were around. But if it was simply her, sitting alone and quiet, he would dare venture towards her. His physical wounds had begun to heal, and with the food Cass had been feeding him, he was looking a little better. His psychological health, however, was still fragile. He looked to be what could be considered a teenage Cyndaquil, but he displayed the characteristics of a much younger one, and he could never stop his trembling. If anything startled him, he immediately retreated.
- Four months later, he officially joined her team. He was very timid and often hid behind her, would accidentally spit embers at those who scared him, but never Cass.
- When Cass went to train her Pokemon, she was most careful with Cal, and most hesitant with Quince. By her 22nd birthday, she had a Liepard, Mioltic, Nidorina, Swablu, Pupitar, and her greatest accomplishment, Quilava.
Cleopatra - even more protective
Sarabi - laid back, most relaxed with Cass
Mirabella - caring, gentle
Quince - cuddly, often scared
Magnus - stoic, quiet, proud
Callum - jumpy, small signs of mental fragility appear, though Cass' presence seemed to keep him relatively calm.- Suddenly, Cass made a rash decision: she was going to kill her father. She'd found out he'd been running a crime ring, and wanted to end it. After learning his address, she grabbed the gun Sarabi had magically obtained (through stealing no doubt) not long ago for her protection, and headed out, all her Pokemon safely stowed in their Pokeballs.
- The encounter. Cass flees scene, leaving gun behind.
- A fifth scar appears on her right wrist.
- When news of her father's death spreads, she comes out of her shelled state, having gone into hiding after the event, something had changed, something had hardened.
- For reasons still unknown to her, she dove right into the ranks of the gang, which was weakened and beginning to crumble due to power struggles happening within. Perhaps it is this that gave her the advantage: no one expected her to be a threat. When she did manage to take hold of the gang a few weeks later, she held it with a vice tight grip, backed by her now Tyranitar, Milotic, Typhlosion, Nidoqueen and Liepard.
- Black mail became her calling. Sarabi was good at sneaking around and obtaining things. Cass had a knack for all things computers.
- In order to discourage rebellions, the Reckoning was created.
- A year or so after she seated herself on top, things began to settle, and became easier for her. She became known for her cold, ruthlessness from her first period of reign, though she did begin to relax slightly.
- The Reckoning was used less and less on members of the gang (until none at all) and more on prisoners, in order to obtain information.
- Cass despised drugs, but continued in their trafficking, knowing full well they brought in the most profit.
- The gang became like a makeshift family for her, one she felt a need to protect. She rules with a combination of respect, strictness, a little bit of fear, and a certain cold ferocity. She doesn't want others to get too close to her, but she doesn't want to rule solely on fear like her father did.
- Has since adopted the alias Charlize Reiner in order to steer away those who might recognize her from her old life. Only those close to her know her real name, or much more than the fact she has blonde hair.
- Her financial situation has improved considerably. Though she used to sleep in the head quarters on the gang, in what could be vaguely called an office, she has since purchased her own house, and renovated certain aspects of her office. Her house is registered under her real name, to eliminate any connection to the gang at all. She will occasionally bring members of her gang who require shelter to her house, fully intending to take care of them. Though she is cold and closed off, it would be a mistake to say she doesn't care.
