Powers: Truth. Jace was born with an extraordinary talent, the ability to strongly influence people to tell the truth whenever they are in his presence. Well, that's how things certainly would have been if it hadn't been for a recessive gene that kind of reverses the effect of the power. Since it is a psychologically based power, it is supposed to essentially attack the mind of others and insert the feeling of having to tell the truth, but it instead attacks his own mind; he has no choice but to obey the impulse of truth-telling, his mind weak from the constant presence of the power. Long story short, he is forced to tell the truth and there is no way in which he can speak a lie.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Hair color and hair style: Black, cut to taper just to his eyebrows and slightly pat his ears.
Eye Color: Dark bluish-purple.
Height: 5'6''.
Build: Lithe.
Skintone: Pale.
Other Appearance Information: He's a relatively tall man, standing at almost six feet tall, and his long limbs attribute to the elongated appearance he has. There is little muscle on him. Originally a shy child and then hardened by the reactions of other people, he wasn't one to find a reason to socialize or to go out and play, or even to go to the gym in his schools. This leaves him to be on the skinny side of things. His face is somewhat angular with a few softer features, high and prominent cheekbones, and almond shaped eyes. His eyes have some relatively thick lashes around them, black in color, and illuminating the blue and purple within the irises of his eyes. He also wears glasses when he works, needing them to read most things.
His skin is incredibly pale, as though he's never set foot outside in his lifetime. He tends to burn very easily, as he never has spent much time outside, but there are few blemishes on his skin in general. There are scars trailing up his forearms, very faint and very short markings resting horizontally on his skin. He went through a period of time in his life that he doesn't discuss even now, and these scars here contribute to his outside the home attire. There is another scar on his back, crossing diagonally on his shoulder blades, thick and dark, a result of his father's drunken and angry rage. He does have a tattoo though, a small rose on the back of his neck, hidden by his hairline, representing his older sister.
Mostly because of his scars, he tends to wear anything with long sleeves whenever he is outside of his house. He keeps an air of professionalism, wearing button down shirts and dress pants with matching shoes. Whenever he is at home, he sticks to more basic clothing, like comfort clothes. A t shirt and some fabric shorts or such. He isn't afraid to bare his scars in his own home, where no one can judge him on these things. His Pokemon will send him some looks of sadness or something, but he pays it no mind, as they don't bother to say anything about it. Whenever he is at work, he is sure to wear fabric gloves when moving away from his desk, and a belt tightly around his waist; that's for a different reason.

Personality:
- Loyal -- He would do anything for those he loves and would never betray them. What friends he does have and what family of his remains he would never hurt. While he cannot protect them, he will always be there for them, in the most supportive way that he certainly can.
- Intelligent -- He is very smart and has spent most of his spare time reading books or focusing on school. He never made many friends as a young child, so he was left to focus on his studies. He's never slacked in his studies, finding some comfort in it and making it be a distraction for him.
- Diligent -- He is a very hard worker, as he always has been. Good habits start early, but sometimes he can be too much of a hard worker. He pays close attention to his details and keeps everything organized as it should be. He is a good worker and does his job well.
- Secretive -- He doesn't like sharing things. Whether it comes from his past or relates at all to his feelings, he doesn't enjoy sharing them and keeps just about everything to himself. This causes a lot of pent up anger and depression in his head, which might one day drag him back to old tendencies.
- Truthful -- This is an obvious thing. He can't help but be this way, and sometimes it's a blessing and a curse at the same time. He must be truthful with others. Some appreciate the brutal honesty, but most find it offensive and don't enjoy hearing the truth. It's likely another reason he didn't make many friends.
- Lonely -- He has nearly no friends, and while he loves his Pokemon, some normal human interaction from time to time would be nice. All things considered though, he doesn't have much of a basis to make friends on, and it can be very hard for him to do so. He doesn't really have much of a life--outside visiting his sister in the hospital.
BACKGROUND:
History:
- He was born and raised in the region of Remoor, to his mother, Jenny, and his father, Thomas, and joined his only sibling, Rose, in sibling-hood. He was a very small baby at birth and almost didn't make it, left in a large glass case until he could breathe on his own. Rose stayed at the hospital the entire time, seven years older than him, but very excited to have a brother.
- He had a very plain childhood. He was a very small child and often picked on, and he discovered his power (and its defect) at an early age. He was bullied and didn't make friends when he started school, so he focused on his schoolwork, a trait that would carry on with him throughout his school years. His sister was the only one who knew about the bullying, and did what she could to keep them away.
- He met Sunny on the playground one day, and she was sitting on a bench singing her little heart out. This ritual continued for several weeks. Jace sat on the bench, did his schoolwork, and listened to the little bird sing. She enjoyed his company at the same time, and eventually followed him home. He made a good friend in her, and she was one of his first. Sunny was her name, and she helped him get through school, helped him cope with keeping the secret of his sexuality. He didn't know why, he simply knew who and what he liked. At first, it was just a guess and a feeling, but it became more of a concrete feeling as time passed.
- Rose managed to keep the bullying away for some time, but it continued nonetheless and he hated himself for letting it happen. Things didn't start getting any worse until he reached middle and high school. In middle school, he did make one friend by the name of Cherise. She was a sweet heart to him and allowed him to tag along with her during lunch and other places. She invited him to a party once in the beginning of high school and he got caught up in a silly party game that people their age played, and he ended up in a closet with Cherise herself. They simply sat and talked for awhile, nothing happened, and she was the first person aside from Rose he openly confessed his sexuality to. He trusted her, but it didn't stay that way.
- To say the least, his father was less than pleased when he found out about his son's sexuality, even verbally degraded him for it. His mother didn't have much to say, influenced by her husband's words every second of the day. His father was a drunk, and abusive when there was alcohol in his system. Rose was brilliant in everything, and he was utterly proud of the young blonde, so she remained mostly untouched. Up until he found out his son was gay, he hadn't bothered with hitting him. He believed if he did hit him, then he would 'beat the gayness out of him', in his words. Jace remembers those words to this day.
- His life certainly didn't get any better, and by the time he was sixteen, he had grown into some rather bad habits. He spoke little to anyone, especially Cherise, who tried to apologize. She had told someone in the first place, and the word had spread, and he was picked on even more. Granted, it wasn't physically that he was degraded in school; it was mostly emotional and his self-esteem lowered significantly, something of a depression coming on him. He began cutting his arms to make the pain go away, over and over again. He would hide it from day to day, wearing long sleeves, and took it out on his schoolwork. He stole his sister's makeup to hide the bruises.
- When he was seventeen, his sister was planned to get married right before she graduated college. She asked his help in designing and preparing the wedding, and he did so happily. She wanted him involved in the wedding, and so she asked him to go do all of the things bridesmaids would do. Her friends didn't mind his company and even thought he was absolutely adorable. He helped her pick out her dress, pick the bridesmaids dresses, comforted her when she freaked out and the other girls were worrying over their own makeup and dresses. Their father, drunk and having been carted to jail for a DUI, did not attend the wedding. Jace walked her down the isle instead.
- Rose went off to live her life with her husband, and they kept in touch through technology as it advanced. His father's abuse on him worsened. He cut himself more, and eventually got his hands on his mother's prescription pills; he woke up in the hospital the next day, hooked up to IVs and his sister sitting beside his bed. He was eighteen at this point and legally allowed to move out. Rose offered him a place to stay while he went to college, but he had to promise to get help first.
- Jace agreed to this and moved in with his sister and her husband, who had severe PTSD from something that happened to him in the past. Jace went to meetings with a counselor and slowly talked out his issues. He didn't understand why his father didn't love him, couldn't appreciate him and accept him like he did with Rose. The counseling went on through college, and he eventually got better, but he had grown outwardly cold towards most people. He didn't like anyone touching him.
- Through the war and such, he continued with his life, and he graduated from college at age twenty three. He was hired by a woman as a secretary, doing what she needed him to do. She quickly developed a crush on him and has attempted to get physical with him quite often. To which he pushes her away and leaves. No matter what he tells her, every bit of it the truth, she refuses to back off. He loves his job though.
- Not long after he got his job did he find out his father was thrown in prison for assault on his mother. When he went to go see his mother, he found that she had left the country for fear of her life being taken from her. She didn't leave a note. She left nothing for her two children, and they were devastated, but they managed to get through it together.
- His brother in law's PTSD got the better of him after he moved out from his sister's home, and the news came too late. He had gone into a fit of rage during one of his drunken flashbacks and attacked her. He beat her severely, and the neighbors had called the police, but by the time they reached her, she was unresponsive. Rushed to the hospital, she was put into an OR to fix her fractured skull and bleeding brain. He makes frequent visits to her, always bringing roses, talking to her in the comatose state she has been in for the last three years.

Personality: He is a very playful and happy creature, even if he had once been in a state of poverty. He likes to make people smile and he has such an energy that sometimes it's hard to not smile when he's around. He quite likes to be helpful, too, doing what he can to assist Jace in his chores and whatnot for the day.

Personality: He is a huge grump and tends not to like the company of other people all that much. He has a negative disposition on anything and has an aggressive streak. He is a good Pokemon though, and a good friend when he wants to be. He is incredibly protective, though, and will fight anyone to defend the ones he cares about.

He's a strange creature, makes a good "house wife" of sorts, yet has this playfully darker side to him. He enjoys practical jokes, no matter who the target is.
