HAZEL
20. HUMAN. FEMALE. NEUTRAL/UNKNOWN.
ABOUT THE PLAYER:
OOC Account: Alyssia
What do you wish to be called?: Aly
Other Characters: Alyssia, Cresselia, Suicune, Natalia, Hope, White, Dunnelon, Volkner, Mesprit, Avalon, Atticus, Mina, and Carmen.
BASIC INFORMATION:
Full Name: Beatrice Daphne Miller. She is known as Hazel.
Nickname(s): Hazel.
Gender: Female
Age: 20.
Allegiance: Neutral.
Occupation (Position): Her family has always been involved in running a drug ring and her brother forced her into prostitution through persuasion. Now, though, she has no recollection of anything and is stuck to let someone else care for her.
Species: Human.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Hair: White.
Eye Color: Pink.
Height: 5’7’’.
Build: Lithe.
Skintone: Pale.
Other Appearance Information: Her hair is quite long, stretching down and reaching at her waist with thin, finger-like tendrils. It tapers unevenly around her waist, the sides tending towards a shorter length and the back tending towards a longer length. The color is a shock of white, perhaps best compared to that of a coat of freshly fallen snow, untouched by any living being. Granted, considering the light she is surrounded by, it seems to take on a hue of it. In a room with orange walls, her hair will likely seem more orange than white. The same would happen perhaps for some clothing she was wearing. If a dress was dark pink, her hair would resemble some form of pink more than it would white. To the touch, it feels something like corn silk, and it’s relatively thick, but she seems to keep it well brushed and untangled for the most part. She isn’t usually seen wearing it up, but will throw a flower or something in it on occasion. There are some bangs that split awkwardly around her face. They split off to the sides, but leave a chunk of hair in the center of her forehead.
Her face is not perfect and even she wouldn’t consider herself all that pretty. It is oval in shape and just overall rather plain; there’s nothing all that special about her in this area, except maybe her eyes. She gets the thicker lashes from her mother as she does her hair, but the iris pigmentation is something she and her brother receive from their father. It’s appearing as a shade of red, though on the lighter end of the spectrum, and can tend towards more of a dark pink for her. They are not red, they are pink to her, and that is how she so claims it. Many would think her albino due to the coloration of her hair, eyes, and even the paleness of her skin. But it’s simply hereditary and she has no health issues that come with appearances like her own. Her cheekbones rest fairly high, but it proportions well with her forehead, and doesn’t make her eyes seem too big or too small.
The girl is fairly tall by nature, especially in comparison to the average height of girls her age, but perhaps the more noticeable thing about it is how skinny she is. Her brother kept her this way, malnourished and underweight, to keep her from backlashing at him, simply out of his drug induced paranoia. It gives most of her a somewhat sickly look, but all of the physical activity she does end up doing has given her some muscle, especially in the legs and in the abdomen. Her bones tend to poke out in some areas, like the bottom of her ribs, part of her spine, and even her hips. Her breasts are a little on the medium side, but seem large enough, as though they’d throw off her balance if she weren’t careful. Her brother often found ways to make sure that the lack of good feeding was hidden on her face. Upon rediscovering food and how delicious it is, she will likely gain quite a bit of weight. With her brother unknowing of her location, he can’t exactly stop her from eating.
Her skin is very pale, though not necessarily pasty, and the white hair doesn’t seem to help that matter all that much. While it takes on an appearance similar to porcelain, it is certainly not unmarked. She has a few scars that dance across her collarbone and a few on her stomach and back. Mostly small, but the most noticeable one would be on her face. It extends from her the bottom of her jaw on the right side and pulls up towards her eye, stopping a few centimeters away from it. It’s fairly thick, so it’s well seen. It was caused by her brother’s irritation. She also has a tattoo on her back, extending from her right shoulder blade and down across her back to reach the edge of her left hip. This is what it looks like, and it’s the symbol representing the drug ring her brother runs, but also has some personal meaning.
Her clothing style will come to be something that’s rather interesting. When she manages to get into her own clothing style, it will differ greatly from what her brother made her wear most of the time, which, considering what he forced her into, is not always going to be socially acceptable by mothers. She will take a liking to some older styles that have long since fallen out of place. She will love scarves and large hats and different style dresses, perhaps in the style of those that existed more so years ago, with pants and intricate, frilly shirts too. Not to mention, she will come to have an affinity for historical outfits, fitting them into a more modern style. Old war coats, layered ascots, and old brass buttons. For no particular reason, really, other than she finds a fascination with them.
PERSONALITY:
Likes:
- Food (it's currently her favorite rediscovered thing, since in her mind, she's never had it)
- Pokemon (she has a connection with the ones she does have, finds comfort in them)
- Trying new things (everything has been ripped from her memory, what's new is exciting)
- Weird clothes (something she just kind of knows she likes, though not why)
- Weather (of all kinds)
- Asking questions (the answers are worth it the majority of the time)
- Flustering Silver (she finds it the best source of entertainment)
Dislikes:
- Strange men (there seem to be an awful lot of them who know her)
- Not knowing anything (it irritates some people and does make her feel bad)
- Staring (not sure why, she really, really, just hates being stared at)
- People knowing her when she doesn’t know them (it doesn't tell her anything, she wants to know and she doesn't)
- Loud noises (just another thing she doesn't like, and she does hate yelling, as much as she does it when she gets freaked out)
- Oranges (another thing she simply knows she doesn't like)
- Beatrice (herself, basically, as when she finds out, she hates what she sees)
Strengths:
- Blank (it gives her the opportunity to start over, to escape a worse life)
- Stubborn (good or bad, sometimes it comes in handy)
- Loyal (she respects and loves the new friends that are kind and
semipatient with her)- Knowing (like a sense, sometimes she just simply knows what's wrong and right)
- Fun (she likes trying new things and seems to have fun doing it)
- Open-Minded (she is open to trying whatever, seeing as everything is new to her)
- Friendly (for the most part, it's relatively easy for her to get along with people she's first meeting)
Weaknesses:
- Confused (when someone tells her something, someone else may tell her something different)
- Curious (they always say curiosity killed the cat, and while not a cat, it might still get her hurt)
- Stubborn (sometimes she is this way, for good or bad reasons)
- Clueless (she doesn't know any better about many things)
- Defenseless (and not knowing any better likely means she won't take her Pokemon everywhere)
- Temperamental (her emotions are a jumbled mess, she doesn't always know how to feel)
- Food (she can be easily bribed with it, it just tastes so good)
Personality:
- CURIOUS -- Who wouldn't be after losing their memory completely? Everything is brand new to her and she simply just wants to know about it all. She asks many questions, but only because she really wants to know. Granted, some things she doesn't want to know, like her old life. Part of her is afraid of that.
- CONFUSED -- She honestly doesn't know. One person can tell her one thing and someone else could tell her something completely different about that same thing. She also doesn't always know how to react to certain situations and can often be overcome by fear or sheer excitement without an exact reason why. It doesn't make things easy.
- STRONG-HEADED -- Perhaps this is a defense mechanism against some things she immediately doesn't like or something, but she, nor anyone else really, doesn't really know. This one is on the fence of a good thing and a bad thing, since it seems to decide to come up in the wrong moments and in the right moments. Wrong being when something isn't going to hurt her and right when something could.
- LOYAL -- She doesn't know anyone and takes a huge risk each day attempting to associate with people she's literally just met. However, these people show no intention of manipulating her and turning her into something she isn't. This gives her reason to trust these people and form the kind of bond with them that never makes her want to leave. She trusts them and likely always will, and would never betray them or purposely hurt them for any reason.
- FRIENDLY -- This can be both good and bad. Her curiosity plays into this, and it tends to involve wanting to meet people who might have answers for her. She doesn't know entirely what's right and wrong, but slowly learns that she's better trying to get along with people she's introduced to through those she already knows, otherwise it might not end so well. However, she seems to have a generally friendly demeanor towards others, even when she's asking all them questions.
- TEMPERAMENTAL -- The poor girl is confused and doesn't know how to react to certain things, or to most things. She doesn't know how to feel and emotions will likely present themselves at the most random times during most activities. She doesn't know any better, honestly, and is relatively harmless. Her emotions will change quickly, so just imagine if toast pops out of the toaster.
BACKGROUND:
History:
Hazel was not born in the best of conditions nor was she born under the name Hazel. At this point in time, she is known as Beatrice Daphne Miller, named such by her mother before she passed away due to her placenta detaching from the lining in her uterus. She was not born in a hospital, she was born in the bed of her mother's room, where there were no doctors. There were only people in the medical field who were also strictly involved with the underground drug rings and gang her family was a part of. Beatrice was left to her eighteen year old brother, Manfred, and her mother's body disposed of. The father had never been anywhere to be found.
For the majority of her younger years, nothing was really out of the ordinary. Her brother raised her well during this time, even if he was taking out the stress of raising a young child on drugs and the like with the gang. However, at this time, it was only a small amount of such. He did it here and there to simply take his mind off it, and hired a babysitter, a family friend perhaps, when he went and did these things. For the most part, he was doing a decent job. She was sent to public school when she was of age, which left him to work as an underling. He intended to get higher ranked in the gang. Most of his mind at this point was still good, and wanted the best for his sister and would do what he could to get it.
Things were about to change, though, and by the time she hit age eleven, things had gone very wrong in Manfred's life. He lost his long time girlfriend and his gang pals decided the best way to make him feel better would be to shoot him up with something nasty, getting him hooked on gambling and drug dealing. He proved not to be all that horrible at such a thing, and the higher ups within the gang were rather impressed with his skill. This lifted his rank within them, and while it paid more money for he and Beatrice, the poor young girl was receiving less and less of the attention that she needed and wanted from her sibling. She did love him, but at this point he was being a bumbling idiot with what he was getting involved in.
And perhaps her biggest mistake was saying it out loud. At age twelve, she was getting fed up with having to start doing everything herself. Not that she minded, but she means everything. She did his laundry and learned to cook their food, which he never ate anyways. All because he spent his time doing drugs. She said it at the wrong time and in the wrong place. He had people over and they were all under the influence of some crushed up drug she couldn't ever want to identify. He got angry with her and hit her, for the first time ever, and then proceeded to throw her in front of his friends and let them do as they pleased with her. This was a patter that would continue with many people as he moved up the ranks, and it actually helped him get there. He offered her to those he needed to, either for a price or for a moving up in ranks.
Around age sixteen, Beatrice was to offer her services to the boss of the gang as a kind of distraction. In this business, whoever was capable of killing the boss was good enough to be the boss. Manfred did so when the boss had his guard lowered. At this point, he had managed to stop using the drugs due to waste of product, but that did not change his cruel mindset towards his sister. He had been holding back on her food, thinking she was too large for someone her age. It makes her look sickly and incredibly malnourished; hence her sudden love of food after losing her memory.
This continued for the next two years. Beatrice had a personality outside of being around her brother. She had a bit of an attitude, but had no one to take it out on and didn’t even make friends. She got herself an Archen egg and hatched it, naming the small creature Giselle and befriending her. After a slight incident with a drunk and overly rowdy client, Manfred hired a Golurk to be Beatrice’s bodyguard. The Pokémon was hers to keep, but he did not speak often and simply did his job.
One night, recently, she was sent to a client’s house. She did not want to, as she often didn’t, but was threatened by her brother into doing so, and went. There were four men there, each she knew by name, but the extra three unexpected and unwanted. She complained about it, said it was not what she agreed to, and of course she had to speak to them about it without Cedric in the room. She was gagged, blindfolded, and violated several times. She was sexually and physically assaulted, left with more than enough marks. When she managed to rip the gag out of her mouth and scream, Cedric came in to get her.
Cedric is only one Pokémon though, and could only take so much from the others’ Pokémon. Though one of the men strangled Beatrice to the point of near passing out cold, he pulled him off and went to finish the fight. That was the start of her amnesia, the inflammation due to lack of oxygen to her brain caused slight damage. The next bit caused it to happen completely, turning the fuzz into straight blankness. The house was near the park and so there they went, fighting and causing a ruckus, but no one seemed to want to bother with it. A specific attack to the crack in Cedric’s chest caused a slight explosion, which threw them all back.
The blast threw Beatrice into the ground harshly, slamming her head against it, gashing it open. The force was enough, alongside the inflammation already in her brain, to cause damage to the hippocampus inside her head. It caused her to lose all memory, and the attack on Cedric would cause him to lose enough memory to not remember her entirely. Simply her name. She would wake to find herself in pain and bloodied, remembering simply vague details from the night before. Four men, assault, and then a blinding light. That’s about it. She would ask a young man named Silver what the tree she was under was called, and now calls herself Hazel.
Pokemon:
Name: Cedric
Species: Golurk
Level: 60
Gender: Male
Ability: Iron Fist, Klutz, and No Guard
Personality: Along with Hazel, Cedric has also lost his memory, but only part of it. He remembers nothing from a certain point. He remembers who Hazel's brother is, but vaguely, and doesn't know the girl's name. He remembers being offered the job as a bodyguard and then nothing after that, so he isn't much help in recovering anything useful about either of their lives. For the most part though, out of muscle memory and simply just knowing, he is a quiet being with a couple of quirks and perks every now and then, feeling the overwhelming urge to protect her from anyone who comes near her.
Attacks:
- Shadow Punch
- Rollout
- Iron Defense
- Magnitude
- Curse
- Nightshade
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt
Name: Giselle (Gizzy)
Species: Archen

Ability: Defeatest
Personality: Maybe many people would compare Cedric and Giselle for their common general traits of silence, but Giselle can't make a noise at all, not even squawk like a baby bird should. However, she is incredibly sweet and enjoys cuddling with Hazel, though only her. She seems to take a small fear to everyone else, possibly because she remembers everything that's happened since she hatched, Hazel's life, and is afraid to return to it. She does seem to take a liking to throwing pebbles at people's heads though, but only if she likes them.

She enjoys roaming about in every possible area that she's in and in no way does it seem she can ever be mean to anyone, but her Rapidash DNA tends to take a hold of her from time to time, as she loves herself some friendly competition. She feels terrible when her trainer cries and has always been protective of them, always there to comfort them, like a loving elder sister.
