- Caring; Not so much in general, but more to the people who suffered as he as. Trying to discourage younger kids from stealing as he did, despite him continuing to do so. And, for some reason, his nature as a Riolu more forced that on him.
- Careless; When see's his prize he see's his prize, and doesn't care what's at stake. Possibly the reason why he's stuck the way he is. He often overrun's people, ignores plans and outright walks into some traps when the prize is close. A reason why he doesn't like grave robbing.
- Idealistic; He legitimately believes he can change the world by stealing it blind. That if he takes enough, people will either start killing eachother or help eachother. But regardless, he thinks he can do something.
BACKGROUND:
History:
JT was born in the more calm time in the city of Saffron in the Kanto region, really giving him time to grow and find interest in things. Most kids went with playing ball or training Pokemon. JT, on the other hand, was never given anything by his parents, so he favored stealing things from other kids, often hording the items he stole under his bed. His parents, when they decided to pay attention to him, took action. Sending him to remedial school where they hoped he'd stay out of their way and be a 'problemless child'. Problem was, you send a group of thieves in one location, and they’re going to steal more and more. Complie that with parents that don't care and being at the bottom of the social food chain as a 'reject'. So, instead of simply dropping the habit; he perfected it. Going back home as the “Problemless child” his parents wanted, (And didn't really care about) but being cleverer on how he stole, even going as far as to steal for money. Unknown to his parents, who saw him as a ‘good kid’ and not really what he really did.
When he left, his parents didn't even know he was gone. He wasn't their kid, he was their household pet. So, he went years stealing professionally with little repercussion until; he stole for the wrong reason that ended up killing someone. A small gang of men, all wearing matching uniforms wanted him to steal some items from this man, which looked harmless on the surface. He agreed and robbed the man blind, which allowed the uniformed men to storm into his house and demand payment. The man must have borrowed money and had the money, which JT had just stolen. At first, he didn't know, thinking it was just another gig. Then he saw the picture of the man, and a picture of him next to it, saying he was the killer. People glared at him from every angle, police were on his tail and would be there in quickly, he was sure of that. So he did what any other man would do and ran, ran for his life as he fled Kanto and headed to Remoor, where he heard about the Mewtwo clone stirring trouble there, no one would even bother to look for him in all the Chaos. He took the first boat off and headed to the land, hiding his appearance from anyone and everyone as he made his way into the land, not knowing about the war that was brewing. Moreso, the destruction that would follow.
During the war, he hid as much as he could, ducking into places where every one else did to avoid the chaos, and just as he planned, no one knew who or what he was. Leaving that to his advantage. Stealing more and more as he watched the Rangers rise, and just as they did, he watched them fall. Praying off their misfortune from the shadows as he stole from any and all, even becoming pretty well known in some small villages. He did his best to keep his identity hidden, so people assumed it might have been a band of thieves, because of his tendency to change masks. People here died all the time, so JT wasn't concerned with the loss of life any longer. People didn’t care about if you killed someone and no one was going to look for him here. He was set, making a living off stealing from others and getting money to go treasure diving to grab things out of ancient tombs people were scared to enter.
A few years later, a very much seasoned JT learned of a very high risk and high paying job to take an artifact said to be buried with a man and his Lucario. It was ‘cursed’ as they said, but JT had been through plenty of ‘curses’ and he found them to be nothing more than stories to scare people away. However, what made this one different is the fact that a ‘Legendary’ supposedly watched over it, some even say Arceus himself damned those who dared to steal it. That didn’t sway him; it was high risk so that meant high pay. What thief could turn that down?
INTRO:
He walked to the client, a man claming to be from Pravus, which JT was wary toward, but if they had wants to pay this kind of money, they were all right by him. The man handed a map and a notice, stating that if anything happened to him while he was in the Temple that his money would become forfeit and all services would be terminated. And they would be monitoring his status via a small wristband that read heartbeats. If it dropped, the contract was terminated. He was curios why they would be so quick to deny him as this appeared to be any other job in raiding tombs, it wasn’t his preference but he did it a few other times. He packed essentials and headed out the following morning before the sun peaked over the dome, he left through the sewers as instructed and headed to the temple, which was hidden by years of erosion and was buried under several hundred feet of rock. But, for some reason a team before attempted to excavate it, all of whom suddenly vanished, JT hardly believed it was legitimate but it did leave a very easy opening to straight to the first tunnel, which left only the main chamber. He made his way into the first tunnel via a fast rope, crawling his way through as metal beams still stood very much strong and unwilling to give into the weight of the tunnel. He hoped they’d show a bit more strength as he slipped into the main chamber, seeing his target and smiling as he pulled himself out and walked straight there, stopping right as he noticed several largely decayed corpses, mostly bones now, laying right where he nearly stepped. A line slit across the floor with, it’s length about one to two inches as he stopped, watching the light beam across the floor sit across the chamber. He picked up a bone and spoke to the skull;
”Sorry bud, but this for the greater good.”
He tossed the bone into the light, the blade extending and slicing through it like butter as it slowly came back down. He tossed another while it came down, and the blade ignored it. He smiled as he recovered another bone and winked to the skull, tossing the bone over the light as it shot up at blinding speeds. He quickly leaped over it and smiled as he took his time, keep his eyes focused on the prize as he watched his step. The curse was obviously fake, but the dangers were very real. He sighed in relief as he grabbed the coffin and pulled it open, the bones of a man and what he thought was a Lucario fell out, spilling all over the chamber as what he assumed was the artifact followed it. He quickly scrambled after it, ignoring the light as the skull of the man crossed it, causing the light to shoot the blade up, and break the skull. A smoke with escaped it, with a harsh whisper assaulting JT’s ears as he recovered the artifact and moved to grab a bone to get out. But, to his surprise, something was latched on his leg. The whisper grew into a talking voice, then a scream as he covered his ears. It just kept saying “Give it back, give it back!” JT looked at to see his reflection, but as a skeleton. He looked up to hear the voice grow stronger;
”Well, that’s not good.”
He quickly grabbed a bone and tossed it over the light, hopping over the blade after it popped up, moving to leave as he looked down to see the hand still around his ankle. He cursed as he kick his leg and fell over. He tried to kick it off, but it was on him firmly. Smoke wrapped itself around the arm and his leg and started pulling him closer, right into the light. He cursed as he grabbed a bone and swung at the smoke but to no avail. He started panicking as he tried to crawl away; ”Oh shit, not like this, not like this. Not like this! No no no no no no no!”
But his pleas had no effect, it just kept pulling him as he gave up, the arm and smoke dragging him into the light as he closed his eyes, preparing for death. But to his surprise, it never came. Instead, the smoke formed what he thought looked like a man who shook his core as he spoke;
”You DARE raid this tomb?!”
JT looked down, he was well off the ground as he started begging for his life; ”Please, I was hired to do it. Please, don’t kill me.”
The apparition pulled him close, causing JT to turn his head in fear; ”No, I won’t kill you.”
JT breathed a sigh of relief as the apparition dropped him and walked to the amulet, which started glowing blue as JT started crawling away, but was stopped by the vengeful apparition; ”Infact, you have me in a generous mood. I’ll give you something for coming this far. But I’m taking something in return.”
JT stood up and brushed himself off, playing the situation off as if he never did anything wrong; ”Right, well, my contract is very clearly stated that I do not accept gifts. So, please contact me anoth-“
The apparition rose up and got inches from him; ”No, but you steal them. And I think taking the biggest thing you care for is compensation for the souls you caused grief to.”
JT started walking back; ”Okay, name it and it’s yours. Please, I’m just here on a job. I’m innocent, well, not totally but in this case I am. Just, what do you want?”
The smoke around it’s face twisted in a smile, Your humanity.
JT tried to speak, but was blasted across the chamber, slamming into the wall as his world faded and as if played in reverse, the bones and artifact all sucked into the coffin. The ghost vanishing as his body grew numb, and the world seemed to grow further and further from his sight. He knew was dead, or atleast dying, it had to be. Nothing ever felt like this. But, once again, he was wrong.
He awoke several hours later, his head pounding and his heart racing. He attempted to stand, but was unsuccessful as he struggled to even move. The hit must have paralyzed him, or maybe made him unable to move? What did he mean his humanity? He couldn’t calm his mind as he struggled to stand, barely able to walk as his clothes were nothing but a pile of linen as he grabbed the heartbeat monitor and screamed into it, a very much younger sound voice coming from him. He said something else, confirming that. He didn’t understand, he could barely see and his mind was a blur. He felt his was to the tunnel as he struggled to walk even then, wobbling and falling left and right as he found the fast rope, grabbing it and pulling it with everything he had. The rope responded by yanking him up, clearing him from the tunnel as he tumbled through the hole and rolled several meters before just lying down and accepting defeat. He got out of the tomb, but he was stuck in the middle of Remoor’s many fields as he just laid flat out, unwilling to continue as tears gushed from his eyes and rolled down his cheeks, being too weak to wipe them he just continued to cry. Weeping in the middle of the fields as he knew this was going to be his end.
But once again, he was wrong.
