As always it seemed, the Pravus base was filled with people and pokémon. Everywhere one looked they would see a multitude of life, all bent towards the same purpose. It was astounding really to think that so many people and pokémon of so many different backgrounds and mindsets could all be brought together such as they were. That they were almost all what one might, and many did, deem evil was perhaps a factor that aided in their conglomeration. Even considering that, however, it was an impressive feat, and one had to admire the ingenuity that those running the organization had to possess in order to keep it from turning inward and tearing itself apart.
It was things like these, among many others, that occupied the goddess' mind whenever she was in this place; or even anywhere near it. Though she'd grown accustomed somewhat to the group, she could never forget that it was they that had poisoned her beloved Remoor; nor could she forget the things that their scientists had done to her when she was incarcerated here. That was why it was unfortunate that she'd been required to be here far more than she'd like. ....Though, admittedly, she did immensely enjoy being removed from the domed city and back amongst the salt air, even if just briefly.
The reason for her frequent trips here of late weren't entirely made clear to her. Ami had informed her that there was some funny about the band on her arm that kept the infection within her in check. Though initially quite alarmed, Ami and Abby had managed to calm her with assurances that it wasn't anything serious; which should have been obvious since she wasn't murdering everyone, as her beloved dolt so tactfully put it. The scientist had then told her that she was free to go back to the city whenever she wanted, but that she'd need return to the base often in orde for her to determine the problem with the band. In the meantime, she'd also concluded that Zephryne needed to work on her breathing and muscles due to how long she'd been cooped up at this point.
That was why she'd spent the better part of her recent days in a special gym area that Ami had shown her too. Not comfortable with revealing her true form unless absolutely necessary, she was currently in her preferred human guise; that of a slender, aqua haired young female. As she'd also been informed that she was not allowed to be nude, exactly why she didn't understand clearly, she was also wearing a top that came midway down her torso and only covered her shoulders, and bottoms that came just a short way below her rump. Though at first she'd been quite reluctant, especially since the clothing fit so tightly, she'd soon been able to forget about it, the tightness actually making it fit much like a second skin and thus making it entirely unnoticeable.
Today she was on some strange form of moving ground; honestly, what wouldn't the humans think up? It was moving at a quick pace, and so even though she was loping quite briskly she didn't run off of the end of it, strange as that was. There was a portal open in the wall nearby, and through it blew the ocean breeze, the salty air stinging slightly at her sweating body, but feeling absolutely wonderful.

"Sheesh... finally."
Well, that was a long little project the scientist had to work on! Indeed, Zephryne was told to stay around in Pravus' training facilities while Ami worked on a new band for her. Thankfully, there wasn't anything wrong with the medicine or its dispersal into the goddess' system. No, the issue here dealt with the band itself, and the fact that it wasn't accustomed to working around three wrists. Sooner than the scientist anticipated, the rubber inside of the metal band had worn out, causing it to either be far too loose for her smaller Pokemon form, or far too snug on her 'legendary' form. Fixing that issue was a bit of a mechanical riddle, but it was definitely possible.
At least, it was absolutely nothing compared to the complexities that were in the medicine inside of the band. With her work completed, and the new device stored away in its metal case, Ami made her way down to the gym where Zephryne was training. And, of course, the snarky Absol was right at the scientist's side.
"You know you told her that you'd be there almost twenty minutes ago, right?" Abby sighed, keeping his pace with his trainer. "She'll be halfway done with her run by the time I'm there-"
"Oh, hush." Ami gave a small look down at her Pokemon, who glanced back up: "You know we have more than that to worry about today. Just keep pleasant for now."
"Fine, mom." Getting that last little gem out before he was in Zephryne's earshot (his beloved wasn't very well versed in Abby's puns quite yet), Abby walked towards the door as Ami slid her key-card, opening the door (locked only from the outside) into the gym. Yes, Zephryne was running on a treadmill, one specifically made wider such that she could exercise in whatever form she wished... though, really, she and Abby just used it as an excuse to run together. Trotting forward to keep the pace, the cat ran to the side of the machine and slid into place next to Zephryne. "We're back, dear!"
"Yes, sorry that took longer than expected." Taking the case, Ami set it on the bench next to the treadmill: "After this run, we'll switch the medicine out... actually, if you don't mind, I wanted to talk about something else." Hoping to get Zephryne's attention, she paused for a moment to make sure the goddess was listening:
"Let's start with this... how do you feel about Pravus as a whole? I know its kinda big for words and does a lot of things, but you've been around a lot and gotten to know it. Just, what do you think?"
"Beating around the bush, she is..."

Truth be told, the river goddess hadn't even noticed that the pair had been gone longer than they ought. With the salty breeze blowing through the opening in the wall, a window, she believed it was called, it was rather difficult for her to focus on the here and the now. As she had begun to run her eyes had closed, her ears had confused on the sound of Wingull outside, her nostrils had absorbed the briny scent, her skin felt the salt upon it. She was no longer within the building, no longer a trapped beast, caged by human constructs and her own tainted soul. Once more she was upon the ocean floor, the dark depths above her, seemingly endless in their depth and beauty. She was racing across the deeps, faster than the wind, faster than the eye. If she wanted she knew that she could circle the world in the space of a breath, but she could never leave her beloved Remoor, the land she had tended and called home since the creation of the universe itself. The land as her treasure, her precious child, and she loved it with every fibre of her being.
This aethereal excursion into times long past continued for her entire run. Even when the entranceway to the room opened up she didn't notice, her mind entirely elsewhere. It was only the voice of the Absol that brought her back to the correct place and time, bright blue eyes blinking open to find the pokémon that she had come to care so deeply for. The goddess smiled down at the feline running alongside her, love and compassion as always present in her gaze. "Welcome back, dearheart." One hand reached down as she continued to run, lovingly scratching at the cat's ears before returning upwards.
For the most part she paid little mind to what the woman was saying, outwardly at least. She was listening to the words that the scientist was saying, but as she saw no need or requirement to respond to them she merely kept running as she'd been instructed. Personally she had no idea how running would help with her condition, but she didn't really mind. In any case it was Ami that knew what was best in such concerns. The infection was the result of human ignorance, and Ami was the most intelligent human she'd yet encountered, so she had absolutely not reason to doubt that if she said something was necessary, then it was.
When she specifically asked for her attention, however, the girl's head turned towards the woman. She listened to the next few statements she made, not entirely sure as to why she was asking such questions. Her mate's followup statement did not help, as she could not understand why Ami would be assaulting shrubbery, were such even present. Zephryne dearly loved the Absol, but sometimes he simply made no sense at all.
In response to the query she merely shrugged her pale shoulders, not pausing in her run. "I cannot say I am able to provide much insight. I know it was they who halted the advance of the clones, yet also they who poisoned the land. Likewise you and Abby have been most kind to me, but there are others nothing less than cruel." Again, she shrugged. "Much like life, I suppose, there is good and there is bad. It is not my place to bear judgement upon either.

Honestly, Zephryne's absentmindedness during her runs didn't surprise Ami nor Abby all that much. Abby, for the most part, just generally assumed she was in a focused 'zone' and was enjoying herself for most of the time, while Ami similarly attributed it to some sort of runner's high. Well, there was that, and perhaps not being able to hear anything else over the sounds of the treadmill and falling feet, but for the moment, that was far outside the point.
Feeling Zephryne scratch him in that sweet spot, right at the back of his ear, Abby gave a small smirk, briefly nuzzling to the hand before righting himself, keeping pace with the human on the treadmill. There was little need for words. Not because Abby wasn't usually a chatterbox when they were running together, but because Ami still had a point to bring up, and told Abby to try and not interrupt them too much while the two girls talked.
With the question posed, the scientist intently listened to Zeprhyne's answer. It was a rather 'average' view of Pravus, shared by even most of their employees (well, except for the fact that most wouldn't bring up the point that they could smite the entire organization at the drop of a pin). Pravus was, after all, a government, and no government in the world could achieve complete approval. However...
"Well, to be honest, that's how a lot of people feel about Pravus. Even the current members of the organization don't like everything that the people in it do, but what we do provide is an opportunity for good." Standing up, Ami stood at the side of the treadmill so she'd be a bit easier to look at and talk to. "I'll get right down to it. Since you do spend a lot of time around us, well... I'd like you to consider joining Pravus."
Abby held back his snark for the moment, perhaps to the surprise of them both. Ami continued:
"Now, understand that you wouldn't be forced to do anything you didn't want to. However, after so long, I think you're beginning to feel 'cooped up': protected in the city, instead of being out in the wild as I'm sure you would prefer. What I'm offering is a chance to work for us and help, bit by bit, help purify parts of the land. Granted, you could do this on your own merit, but with Pravus' resources-"
"-You'll be safe no matter what happens."
Abby's small interruption earned a blink from the scientist: he said it plain as day, like it was a normal sentence. And to her further surprise, he even looked towards Zephryne and smiled. "You'd have a safe place to stay, consistent lodging, and be able to see the woods and the rivers again. Ami's work takes her outside the walls a lot... and its still a pretty land out there. At least, give it a thought."
