Despite her best efforts at finding her family, Michi was coming up empty in her attempts at finding her family. At this point she was grasping at straws in attempting to find the police station when she knew that it might not pan out. Besides, she had a horrible sense of direction and there was no way of knowing if this was even the right direction to get to the police station. Surely they would have at least some record of what had happened all those years ago. It was at least a start anyway, perhaps she would be able to keep the shield up long enough to ask someone if they had any record of a kidnapped girl. Sora knew the full story and it was the Starly's presence alone that gave the Ponyta Pokemorph the courage to continue walking closer to the center of town where the police headquarters was. How wrong she had been to believe that she would be able to keep the shield up long enough to ask a police officer anything. The shield had wavered moments before reaching the building and that was when the pain had started. The voices started crowding in, shouting at her, clamoring for her attention. Before long, Michi couldn't see straight anymore, couldn't focus enough to keep walking. Dropping to her knees, Michi tried desperately to try and block her mind once again but it was no use. The pain was excruciating and nothing she tried was making it go away. A soft whimper escaped her as the Ponyta Pokemorph slumped against the side of a building and drew her knees closer to her before simply collapsing in a heap. Terrified as she was, Michi could already feel her hair begin to turn into tendrils of flame as it always did when she was frightened. It was a reflex, or so she'd been told the last time it happened. Michi could turn her mane and tail into flame if she wished, unfortunately when she was in this state, it was something she couldn't control no matter how hard she tried. Whimpering softly, Michi vainly tried to focus on something anything other than the voices shouting at her at the top of their lungs. It felt as if her mind and heart was being torn into little pieces as the emotions clamoring for her attention pulled her every which way. Clinging to Sora, Michi tried to focus on the Starly's calm, soothing voice and the sound of his heartbeat but even that wasn't enough...not this time. Her vision blurred as the pain increased and Michi once again wondered why she had even tried to venture this far into the city. In the end it hadn't mattered how brave she was trying to be...she had been foolish to try and go into the heart of the city. She was simply too weak to even attempt such a feat...Michi had just been fooling herself.... Moments passed before Michi slipped into unconsciousness, still holding onto her precious Starly, looking for all the world as if she was just sleeping. Words: 519 | Notes: --- |Tags: Zorro

It was a lonely cold morning out for the Zebstrika morph. Then again, every day was lonely or filled with stares at his body. He eventually got used to the feeling of constantly being watched and just shrugged off the unending paranoia as routine. It was time for work and if he was lucky, he'd have no run ins with the newbies. The new recruits always got on his nerves with their questions. Things like if he used a chair at his desk, or if he slept standing up. Inquires like that were not professional and he preferred to just ignore them.
Zorro entered the area and his ears swiveled to face the crowd, catching his attention. The police officer cleared the crowd and lifted up the child into his arms. He looked down at the little one and the starly. As Zorro looked the two over, he thought it would be best if the little one woke in an uncrowded area. The officer walked through the halls and to the infirmary section of the station. The centaur did his best to make sure the room was moderately empty and that the little child could rest there for a while.
He folded his legs under his body as he rested on the floor. His arms occupied themselves by checking away at a console while he waited. Naturally he was curious about why the girl had fallen asleep there but he could ask her why when she woke up.

How long Michi was out, she didn't know as the overload of emotions had effectively knocked her out cold. Combined with her exhaustion, it was no wonder that the Ponyta Pokemorph had been rendered unconscious. Truthfully, she had only made it this far out of sheer willpower and determination only to fail moments before she reached her goal. Sora was the only one that noticed the crowd that had formed around them but as tightly as Michi was holding him, there was nothing to be done. Thankfully a police officer did clear the crowd that would have otherwise made Michi have a nervous breakdown moments after she regained consciousness. As they were lifted into the arms of the Zebstrika morph, Sora was relieved that the officer took them into an almost vacant room. That was good, at least then Michi wouldn't be overwhelmed again like before. The child had pushed herself too hard though, even before they made it to the heart of the city the Starly could tell that she was exhausted. Given that, it was no wonder that Michi had not been able to maintain the barrier for the length of time needed to reach the police headquarters. Now that they were safe, the Starly settled on the bed, watching as Michi slept before looking to the officer that had helped them. If it weren't for him, they wouldn't have been able to get this far and for that, Sora was grateful. Exhausted as Michiko was, it was hours before she regained consciousness. Stirring, the Ponyta Pokemorph almost expected to be thrust back into pain but surprisingly enough it was quiet. Red eyes opened slowly as she looked around the room, disoriented and confused to say the least. The moment Michi opened her eyes, Sora was right there beside her, obvious concern in his eyes. Michi smiled at the Starly and reached out to pet him before looking around the room. There was a man, an officer, nearby...had he helped her? Slowly sitting up, Michi pulled Sora into her lap and looked over at the other officer, not sure what to say now that she was in the police headquarters at long last. Zorro's tail swings as he waits for the little one to wake up. Salan had slithered out of her pokeball and onto the table so she and him could chat about the mysterious little ponychild they had gathered up. The two of them were bouncing ideas between them about why the little pokemorph had fainted when she arrived as the little one began to stir.
Zorro gave the little one a smile and calls his partner back into her pokeball. "Well hello there little one. Are you alright?" he asked, puzzled about the young ponyta completely. He was so curious about her, where were her parents? Shouldn't they be here? Did they know their child had run off? Was she in the missing person's database? He made a mental note of asking Salan to check that later after he made sure she was alright.
"... Would you like something to drink?" he asked softly, shifting his weight as he watched her. He felt like he was going to bolt for some reason, and he didn't quite understand it.

Red eyes studied the police officer as Michiko held Sora closer to her as if he would shield her against whatever might happen next. The little Starly cooed soothingly, knowing that Michi would be frightened after the ordeal she had been through. From what he had seen however, the officer only wished to help and for that Sora was grateful. One thing was for sure though, if the man even hinted at hurting Michi in any way, Sora wouldn't hesitate to defend his trainer and friend with his life. It didn't matter that the officer was part Zebstrika, or at least not to Sora, he would still do his best to protect Michi despite the odds.
The voice from the officer gave Michi pause, hesitating briefly before nodding in response to the question. Thankfully there weren't many people in this area which was good considering how weak Michi felt after forcing herself to go this far. To be honest, Michi was surprised she had managed to make it even remotely close to the station with the crowds she had had to go through. It had been difficult to try and keep out of sight and away from crowds while searching for any clues in regard to her birth parents.
No doubt she looked worse than she felt to say the least of things with the dirt that coated her hair, making it look a dirty reddish/grey color rather than the pale pinkish white it normally was. Mud covered the majority of her clothing, mixing with the various cuts and scrapes she had received during her journey. Her normally white t-shirt was caked with mud, turning it an ugly muddy brown color. Like her shirt, Michi's otherwise red jacket looked more brown in appearance while her supposedly jeans looked almost completely black. Needless to say, Michi had seen better days but at least she was in a safe place now. From what she could sense from the man before her, he simply wanted to help.
Scanning her surroundings, Michi remained silent, a little intimidated at finding herself in the infirmary when her last recollections had been of a tormented emotions assailing her at every end. At least Sora was with her, that was something even if she still felt the effects of the emotional overload from before. It was rare that Michi got that sick though it was something of a miracle that she hadn't landed in her own vomit when she had passed out. Michi knew all too well that she wasn't exactly making a good first impression with her appearance but that was to be expected when she had been on the streets for the better part of a month. It had been hard enough to find something to eat, let alone a safe place to sleep for the night. Not many people took kindly to a strange pokemorph wandering the streets, especially with her ability to sense people's emotions.
At the next question, Michi looked back over at the officer, licking her chapped lips briefly before nodding again. "Yes...thank you..."Michi rasped, her voice little more than a whisper. Clearing her throat, Michi tried again, "Water is fine..."she said quietly as she looked up at the officer, not quite as scared as she had been before.
