What was she doing there? Her nerves were causing her leg to bounce up and down at a rather alarming rate, revealing her anxiety in the situation. The mall was filled with busy people, rushing about with bags on their arms, chattering, some wrangling children and some there on business, and there were teenagers that were chittering excitedly to one another. She had never been like that in high school. She made some friends, but not enough to matter.
Speaking of friends, today was the day she needed to make enough of an impression to make a friend, or at least to get Abigail to like her. The woman was Raphael’s twin, and it seemed only customary that she start meeting the family members of his. Her own were…nonexistent. She had no desire to remain contacted with her father and her mother was dead from cancer. She didn’t even have her own last name, the one she had been born with. That was how much she did not want to have ties to her family. It was better that half of her was not met, and she could only pray it remained that way.
”Av, calm down.” The Gardevoir’s hand on her back startled her and she jumped from where she was sitting. ”It’s just Raphael’s sister, I’m sure everything will be just fine. There’s no reason to be so nervous.” The expression on the blue-haired woman’s face did not relax even in the slightest; she’d only ever had bad experiences with people for the most part, but this was a necessity. ”Av… She won’t bite.” Sarcastically, the mute woman responded, ”You can’t say that for sure. And I’m just…nervous that she won’t like me.”
Brynn muttered some comment about how impossible it was for anyone to really dislike her, honestly, and it was hard to hate Avalon. She was a sweet woman, just with enough bad experiences to make her wary. She was nervous about messing this whole thing up, even though Raphael had assured her profusely that everything would be all right. Brynn was doing the same, and they waited quietly at a table in the food court. At least there were plenty of people, something she wasn’t usually fond of, but in some sense it comforted her.
I can only hope I don’t mess this up for Raph.

The mall was a large place and it was one place in particular that Abigail would not go to alone. Due to her lack of human friends, excluding the grumpy old kindergarten teachers that called themselves her co-workers, Abigail only had her Pokemon to keep her company. So, Gracie, the woman's canine companion a spliced Arcanine - Charizard morph by the name of Fleur would accompany the woman to the shopping center.
Usually, the main creature to accompany the woman would be Gracie, a fluffy match-maker fairy that was always determined to hook the woman up with an unsuspecting male, but usually ended up scaring the majority of them off with her excitable nature. No, this time Abigail was to meet Avalon, a friend of her brother's. The woman had been trying to see her brother for the longest since moving to Remoor, but apparently his schedule was too busy. Yet instead he'd asked for her to meet a 'friend' in his stead? Fleur instantly disliked the idea of Abigail meeting someone 'new' and insisted on coming along, and so there were the unlikeliest of pairs, a frail, pale woman with a winged dog that towered over her.
Who was she supposed to be looking for? "Fleur, calm down. No one's going to jump at us, okay?" The woman reached out with a soothing hand to grab the dog's fur as the canine kept her head high and her ears pricked, alert for any signs of danger. Abigail sighed and decided to take a break by sitting down on the nearest bench, unknowingly sitting next to the woman she just so happened to be looking for. Fleur huffed and sat down next the woman, striking blue eyes glaring at any passerbys, she was worse than a drug dog at a airport.
Abigail would look to the woman that was sitting next to her, a delicate yet tired smile on her face. "Waiting on someone?" She asked curiously before quickly adding, "It's okay if you don't want to tell me, I don't mean to sound nosy." While the kindergarten teacher asked the questions, one may notice just how protective the dog opposite her was looking as she glanced at the stranger (Avalon). | TAGS: AVALALALA - LON NOTES: SORRY FOR THE SHORT REPLY, TRYING TO GET OUT REPLIES :3 CREDIT: LAIKA OF GS! |

Considering her past track record with men, she was not all that...comfortable in meeting Raphael's sister. She did truly adore the man she was seeing, yes, but to say she wasn't anxious to go through this whole process would be a lie and a half. She was nervous all hell, to be completely honest, and why wouldn't she be? She had come across the possibility more than once to date a guy, thought about it, but things came up and moving again was required so she never really took that step. The severe anxiety just of dating in her head was there as well, and that made it hard.
Brynn was watching her friend carefully, quietly placing a hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner. Even the Gardevoir had to wonder how far the relationship with Raphael would go, and personally, the Pokemon was hoping it would go on until the end of days. She saw them as a couple in her head, adored Raphael herself, honestly. She had never met a man so kind to her trainer and Avalon seemed to care for him very much, trust him so quickly, and that was a sign of hope o the Pokemon more or less.
When the woman came to sit beside her, Avalon's heart felt as thought would race right out of her chest. It couldn't be that bad, could it? It was the first time she had ever gone through something like this and making a good impression was a part of it. But don't compromise yourself...just be you. Was that not what she did anyways? She did not really know what Abigail looked like, but this woman fit the bill of what she had been told. Her hands lifted to her face level and moved quickly, the sign language being translated by her Pokemon, "We are waiting for her boyfriend's sister, his twin. He thought it would be a good idea for us to meet."
Of course it had. Avalon had little doubt the rest of his family was at the very least kind as he was. After all, he had been raised by those people, they had to have rubbed off on him. "It's...anxiety inducing to say the least." The Gardevoir was mostly transferring her thoughts out loud, but the sign language was more or less to show that she could not speak to others. It would be odd for the Pokemon just to talk on her behalf. She hesitated before asking finally, "You wouldn't happen to be her, would you? Abigail?"
Brynn kept a wary eye on the canine.
