BASIC INFORMATION:
Full Name: Michiko Amelia Sakura
Nickname(s): Michi, Mich, Mimi, and Amy
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Allegiance: N/A
Occupation (Position) : N/A
Species: Mutant Ponyta Pokémorph
Powers: Michi has the ability to experience some emotions of those around her as if they were her own, especially if they have strong feelings for or against something. Michi seems to be able to pick up sad, hurting, or angry feelings better than anything else. However, she has to be in close proximity of the person(s) in order for her to be able to read them, touching them is a sure bet while those within a four foot radius are a little more difficult and beyond that is iffy at best. This being said, being in the same room as a group of people is difficult at best, but being stuck in the middle of a crowd is unbearable. The only people thus far Michi has been unable to read for whatever reason are the people she loves or cares deeply for. For sanity’s sake, Michi has learned to block her mind off from everyone else so that she is unable to read anyone even if they should happen to touch her. Unfortunately, she can only keep the barrier up for so long with the longest time as of now being almost 4 hours. When unable to keep the barrier up she tends to get headaches the longer she has to be in the same vicinity of people to the point where she gets physically sick and will eventually end up fainting. Forming the barrier itself is troublesome and takes one post for her to build it up and then another to solidify it. Depending on how well Michi is depends on the length of time she is able to maintain the barrier; if she is weak, sick, or injured in any way it could last as short as 5 posts with the longest as of right now being around 15 or until she gets too tired to maintain it or is unable to concentrate on keeping the barrier in place, whichever comes first.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Face Claim: Guilty Crown ~ Inori Yuzuriha
Hair color and hair style: Michi’s hair is a natural very light pink, almost white color that eases into a darker pink the longer it gets, in certain lighting her hair appears an almost vibrant white. Unlike the rough hair texture one would expect a horse-like creature to have, Michi’s hair has an almost silky feeling to it that comes from being a Ponyta Pokemorph. Reaching just past her waist, Michi doesn’t usually do much with her hair beyond tying it back with a few clips and hair bands to keep it out of her face. Also because she is a fire type, her hair is a little warm to the touch and even can be set ablaze if she concentrates hard enough or if she is frightened. She also has a tail the same color and consistency as that of her hair and looks exactly like a Ponyta's or a horse would. Michi loves the feel of the wind rushing through her hair and doesn’t often put her hair up as a result.
Eye Color: Michi’s eyes are something else entirely; her large red eyes set off her light pink hair very nicely, dominating the majority of her features and is arguably one of the more attractive things about her. Her slim cheekbones and small nose serve to accent her eyes more which only add to her innocent appearance.
Height: Standing at five feet tall Michi is a healthy weight for her height and has a slim, elegant figure. Michi has all the elegance and grace of a dancer and walks with a confident air around her when alone.
Build: At first glance Michi may not seem much to look at and may in fact seem weak when in fact the opposite is true, her well-toned muscles may not be evident due to her body structure but after years of running and dancing (when she thinks no one is watching her), Michi is quite strong despite how small she appears. She has a very faint scar on her forehead that is almost invisible against her pale skin and is almost always covered by her hair. Michi has several similar scars on her back and around her wrists and ankles. On her side just above her hip is a burn in the shape of a heart set on top of a cross where it appears someone branded her.
Skintone: Her skin is almost porcelain white because although she is a Ponyta Pokémorph, she is fairer than most normal Ponyta. Also, due to being a Ponyta Pokémorph, her 'skin' is closer to the consistency of the fur if short fur at that.
Other Appearance Information: Michi likes to wear comfortable clothing that she can easily move around in; her tastes are simplistic in nature, preferring what’s comfortable versus what would be considered ‘in style’ and generally wears jeans with a comfortable blouse underneath a jacket. Michi is almost never seen without a jacket or a long sleeved shirt on because she doesn’t want others to see her scars. Michi’s legs resemble the back legs of a horse or a goat and make her able to run faster than most. Her feet look just like a human’s would normally, albeit with darker than average nails that are almost as hard as rock. As such, she is never seen in shorts and is very self-conscious about her appearance in a swimsuit lest she be teased about her legs.

Strengths:
- Loyal- Michi is extremely loyal to her friends and those she cares about especially since it’s so difficult to make friends to begin with. She’s constantly afraid of losing her friends and goes to great lengths to be able to keep the few she has. If anyone of her friends needs her help, Michi will be there for them no matter what the situation might be.
- Intelligent- Though she may lack the confidence to believe it, Michi is actually rather smart and picks up on things rather quickly. She doesn’t like to broadcast that she’s smart and stays quiet unless spoken to. Michi picks up on things quickly and seems to have a natural talent for the arts. If asked about it, Michi simply shrugs and plays it off like it’s nothing just because she doesn’t want attention drawn to her.
- Compassionate- Possibly due to her own experiences growing up, Michi is very kind-hearted and doesn’t like to see anyone around her hurting. One of the few times Michi’s timidity seems to disappear is when she sees someone upset or hurt and will go out of her way to help them even if it’s in some small way. Michi would never turn her back on a hurting person and often ends up playing the role of the Good Samaritan if it’s within her ability to do so; if she is unable to help Michi will still stay with the person or help them find someone else who can.
- Determined- Whenever Michi makes her mind up to do something she’ll follow through with it no matter what. Despite being timid and unsure of herself, if the situation calls for quick thinking lest someone become gravely injured, the shy girl all but disappears replaced by a more courageous one. In Michi’s mind her word is as good as a promise and will do her best to follow through with what she says she’ll do.
- Humble- Michi doesn’t like to draw attention to herself and tends to downplay whatever praise she receives. She doesn’t like being in the spotlight and would much rather prefer working behind the scenes. Whenever asked about something that she excels at or has done well on Michi almost always finds a way to change the subject. Michi doesn’t like to brag about what she’s done simply because she doesn’t think it’s that important and doesn’t seem to know what to do when she hears others boast about their achievements.
- Creative- One of the things Michi absolutely loves to do is draw or paint. The ability to make something new with her hands is exciting to her and is one of the few things that will draw her out of her shell every time. Michi is rather good at figuring out what colors go together to make a sunset come to life or how to make it seem as if a branch is blowing in the wind to name a few. When she’s by herself, Michi loves to make up her own dances and songs but rarely ever shows them off considering she’s very shy about performing in front of others.
Weaknesses:
- Timid- Michi is rather quiet and tends to keep to herself whenever possible. She rarely speaks even when spoken to and more often than not appears afraid when someone approaches her. It’s rather hard to get her to open up and say something other than a murmured ‘hi’ or ‘excuse me’ if she’s passing through. Michi is a typical wallflower and would be more than happy to sit in the corner and let the world pass her by…it’s safer that way after all. This makes it especially hard for her to make friends or even get close enough to someone so that she feels comfortable enough to talk.
- Skittish- Easily frightened, Michi is apt to shy away from anything that even seems remotely dangerous. If there’s even the slimmest possibility that something could go wrong, nine times out of ten Michi will find some reason not to join in or find something else to keep her occupied in the meantime. The sight of blood or anything overly violent makes her queasy.
- Stubborn- Though it wouldn’t be expected out of such a quiet girl, Michi is actually rather set in her ways and refuses to change so easily. Truth be told, she’s afraid what might happen if she does allow herself to be pushed around and is prone to panic attacks if told otherwise. This is not to say that Michi hates change or new ideas, she simply likes to think about it on her own time and will decide whether or not she should do as was suggested.
- Self-conscious- Michi is very insecure about her appearance to say the least and takes extra care to be sure that none of her scars or other flaws are visible. She’s afraid that she won’t be accepted if someone saw them and assumed the worst or even worse, would show everyone else in the room. If someone happens to notice them and asks, Michi has a tendency to panic and run no matter what the intention of the person might have been.
- Lack of confidence- Michi doesn’t believe that she is actually good at anything and when asked to do something will almost always decline. The main factor behind this is fear; Michi has a rather bad case of stage fright and the thought of doing anything in front of anyone is daunting to say the least. When faced with a new challenge she generally backs down from it simply because she’s afraid that she’ll fail. Failure is simply not an option for her, it’s better to not try it and not know if you’re good than to fail and face the possible consequences.
- Distrustful- Very cautious when she meets new people, Michi tends to keep to herself more often than not and won’t open up around others. Because of her past Michi it is rather difficult to say the least for her to trust others. Even teachers and those that are supposed to protect her are kept at arm’s length out of fear that if anyone gets to close they’ll just end up hurting her like so many others have in the past.
Personality:
Michi has lived a rather difficult life to say the least and finds it hard to get close to anyone, least of all make friends. She is most at home by herself in the forest with her ever constant companion Sora, her Starly and only seems to truly be herself when nobody is around or with what few friends she has. Having learned through experience that people are not to be trusted, the timid, shy girl is the wall of sorts Michi puts up to keep others away from her lest she get hurt again. In truth Michi longs to have someone that she could call friend but is afraid if she lets her guard down even for a moment that she’ll just get hurt again.
In all reality Michi is driven by fear; fear keeps her from pursuing any relationship because of past experiences that have only led to pain, both physical and emotional. It’s a wonder that Michi is as kind-hearted as she is considering the pain she has been through but despite her small stature she has a very strong spirit. No matter what happened to her, Michi was able to hold onto the hope that tomorrow would bring a new day and always tried to find the silver lining that was hiding in every bad situation she found herself in. It was this bright outlook and determination that brought her through her darkest days and is what seems to hold her together whenever it seems that stress, worry, or whatever else should have long since broken her.
Despite her strong spirit there are a few things that will cripple Michi almost instantly, one of them being water. This is not to say that a small puddle will make her panic but anything bigger than that makes her cringe and begin to panic; anything larger than a than a bathtub brings about a full-fledged panic attack. At this point Michi would have to be removed from the situation in order for her to begin to calm down and even then it would take her a couple of hours to do so. The other things Michi fears are whips and sharp objects such as knives or even broken glass but she will only shy away from the sight of them unless they are used against her.
Michi lives in the present and tries to make the most of each moment no matter what the current circumstances are. She tends to look on the bright side of situations and seems to be able to find good in every circumstance or person she meets which can make her appear naïve at times. However Michi does not let others in so easily and often finds ways to divert questions about herself to something else if the timid, shy exterior isn’t enough to keep people away. The side of her that almost nobody knows is the fun loving, laid back part that she assumes when she is alone. Her true self only seems to come out when she is creating something with her hands such as a painting or drawing of some sort or when she is singing or dancing. Since Michi doesn’t like to draw attention to herself unless someone catches her unawares or when she thinks she’s alone, others will have a very difficult time seeing her do so.
BACKGROUND:
History:
At first glance there appears to be nothing special about Atsuko and Ryota. High school sweethearts, they married young and for years were clearly in love with each other when the unexpected happened. Atsuko's job as a firefighter was always dangerous and Ryota often worried for her safety when she left for work. It was something that Atsuko loved to do however and he wasn't going to take that from her despite his misgivings about her line of work. One day the call that he had been dreading came; Atsuko had been gravely injured while rescuing a family from a burning building...it was unlikely she was going to survive for very long. Ryota's heart stopped and for a second he couldn't believe that something like this could happen. It just had to be a dream...right?
All doubts fled the moment Ryota got to the hospital and saw the state that his wife was in. This couldn't possibly be happening...she couldn't die...not like this, not now... Fortunately luck seemed to be on their side as Atsuko's heroism earned her the opportunity to become a Pokémorph. Ryota agreed without a second thought and the process to turn Atsuko into a Rapidash Pokémorph commenced. Thankfully the process was successful and after a time of adjusting to her new abilities, Atsuko was permitted to return home. Ryota couldn't be happier, he had his wife back and that alone was more than enough.
Life returned to a sense of normalcy after that and Atsuko and Ryota didn't think they could be any happier. That was until they found out that Atsuko was pregnant. Ecstatic, the happy couple immediately began to make plans about what the nursery would look like and all the other details involved. As the months went by, they found out the baby would be a girl and the name Michiko Amelia was chosen for their firstborn child. At first, Ryota was concerned about what would become of his daughter with both mutant and Pokémorph DNA but Atsuko assured him that everything would be fine and they would be able to teach their daughter how to use her gifts when the time came. Reassured, Ryota agreed to cross that bridge when the time came. For all they knew, the baby wouldn't have any mutant powers after all, there was no sense in worrying about what could be.
Michiko was born on a beautiful spring morning and right away it was clear that Ryota and Atsuko adored their precious baby girl. It was clear that the baby was a Ponyta Pokémorph just as Atsuko had expected but it would not be known if the baby would develop mutant abilities until she grew older. Unfortunately the happy ending Ryota and Atsuko had in mind for little Michiko would not come to pass. Once it was deemed that the baby was in fact a Pokémorph, a plan was put in place to use the babe against Pravus. Second generation Pokémorphs were important to Pravus after all and it was doubtful that anyone would suspect a child on the inside. Not a month after Michiko was born, Ken, a trusted friend of the Sakuras suggested they take the night off and go enjoy themselves. After some persuasion, Atsuko and Ryota agreed and left to have a date night. Little did they know that the moment they were out of sight, Ken took the babe and left. By the time the Sakuras came back there was no sign of Ken or their daughter anywhere.
Alarmed, Atsuko immediately called the authorities and told them what had happened. After months of searching with no results, the investigation went cold but the Sakura family never once gave up hope of finding their little girl. Ken had in fact, taken the child into Anti-Pravus territory with the intent of raising the child to become their mole within Pravus. He along with his wife, Hana, raised Michiko as their own. Still an innocent baby, Michi quickly adjusted to her 'new' family and grew up a happy, normal child, or as normal as could be given the circumstances. Not long thereafter, Michi grew ill and though Hana and Ken tried their hardest to care for the babe, no matter how hard they tried, Michi continued to get worse. At their wits end, Ken and Hana tried taking the baby to the local pokedoctor to see if there was something unique to Pokémorphs that they had missed.
After a short examination, it was determined that Michi had a type of flu unique to Ponyta. Now that they knew what was afflicting the babe, the doctor informed the worried parents what they could do and gave her some medicine to help. A few weeks later, Michi showed signs of improvement but for whatever reason around the time she first turned two, the Pokémorph became quieter and withdrawn, often not letting even her own parents touch her. Unbeknownst to Ken or Hana, the first signs of Michi's mutant power, empathy, were beginning to show. Frightened and confused, Michi often ran into the forest and hid, much to her parents' worry. Often, she would go to the pokedoctor's office simply because she felt safe there. For whatever reason, when she was home there was almost something....scary about it.
Any attempt to tell her parents about what she was feeling was played off as an overactive imagination. They simply didn't take her seriously because she was a child and would grow out of it eventually. Her friends didn't understand either, nobody did...the odd thing was that Michi never felt the echoes of voices when she was by herself. This figured out, Michi spent more and more time away from home. She would often stay at the pokedoctor's office because there weren't any 'bad' voices like at her home or sometimes when she was walking down the street. The doctor was her friend after all and her parents didn't mind her being there. The Pokémon were friendly too and Michi loved helping the doctor take care of them as best she could.
Sometimes though the voices started to get overwhelming and Michi would get panic attacks simply because the 'bad' voices drowned out everything else. She started to retreat further, staying away from people whenever possible. It got so bad that she couldn't even let anyone touch her without having a panic attack. Not even her parent's reassuring, calming words had any effect on her, the 'bad voices' were still there even when Ken and Hana were saying nice things. Her neighbors were the same way, the smiles were there but the 'bad voices' remained and Michi found herself confused and afraid more than ever before. They were only getting stronger every passing day and nothing Michi did made it any better. Her parents kept saying that it was just a phase though...maybe they were right. Michi wanted to believe them and trusted them, even if the 'bad voices' were there.
No matter what her parents said or did however, nothing changed and Michi was finding it hard to sleep at night with all the 'bad voices' around her. They just kept getting louder and louder every passing day despite trying to shut them out. She started losing sleep simply because the 'bad voices' sounded like they were shouting. Michi began to get sick more often because she couldn't handle the stress and would get physically ill due to her still developing mutant power. The odd thing was that whenever she was with the pokedoctor or alone, she would feel better and would actually be able to rest. However, the moment she stepped inside her house she started feeling sick again.
Ken and Hana were at their wit's end; with no improvement from Michiko, it was becoming clear that they wouldn't be able to use her as they had intended. Ken wanted to just get rid of her but Hana pleaded on the child's behalf. She was still young yet, given time perhaps something would change. In an effort to connect with the little girl once again, Ken and Hana gave Michiko a Starly for her 5th birthday. Michi adored the Starly and named her new friend Sora and from then on the two were inseparable. The little Ponyta Pokémorph told Sora everything, at least Sora believed her, he understood that she was telling the truth about the 'bad voices'. Somehow Sora made everything seem better and always knew how to cheer her up. Ken and Hana couldn't be more pleased as it seemed that Michiko was finally coming around and beginning to trust them more.
A few months later Michi started school and though she was afraid about the 'bad voices' showing themselves again, it wasn't that bad. As long as she stayed away from the other kids it was tolerable at least. Not only that but Michi realized just how much she loved art and had a natural talent for it. Drawing and painting relaxed her and made the other 'voices' seem not as bad. The teacher noticed Michi's natural talent as well and praised her for it, encouraging her to continue. Michi couldn't be happier at the teacher's praise, even more so to find out that there were actually good voices too. Maybe the 'voices' weren't so bad after all, perhaps she could learn to live with the voices that nobody else seemed to hear.
Michiko's optimism soon faded when it was time for recess and they were let outside to play. At first it was fun but after a while the voices seemed like they were shouting at her again and this time not even Sora could make the shouting stop. With nothing to stop the onslaught of the voices, Michi blacked out. The next thing she knew, she was back home with a concerned Hana hovering over her, asking if she was alright. Still groggy and frightened after what had just happened, Michi clung to her mother and didn't let go from some hours thereafter. From then on, Michiko was more withdrawn from the other children and stayed by herself whenever possible. It was just too difficult to deal with the voices when they continued to get louder every day. Now that she was ten-years old it was getting harder and harder to deal with every passing day. The only consolation Michi had was her drawing and dancing, they helped take her mind away from the pain...if only slightly.
As Michi grew more clingy and reluctant to go anywhere near large crowds, Ken once again brought up trying to get rid of her and finding another child to fulfill their goal. Hana argued that Michi was sick but that made no difference to Ken, he had been patient enough already and it was clear that there would be no using the timid Michiko. Somehow the child had never fully trusted them that much was clear though Michi couldn't possibly know their true intentions. Finally, Hana conceded that perhaps he was right and they should try different methods to persuade the child to help in their cause. The next day, Ken took Michi to what he told her was a special place where he could teach her something new. Michi knew right away that something wasn't right but he was her father...he wouldn't do anything to hurt her.
The room they had arrived at was dark, musty smelling with nothing for decoration other than a few pieces of furniture to make up a makeshift bedroom. Michi looked around with wide, curious eyes, wondering why they were here in the first place. No sooner had she opened her mouth to voice the question however when Ken suddenly grabbed her wrist and chained her to the bed. Confused and afraid, Michi asked why she was being punished but the voices shouted at her thereafter causing her to flinch back as far away from her father as she could. This only angered Ken more and he unchained her and dragged her away to the nearby lake, inherently afraid of water, Michi fought him every step of the way but was no match for the stronger man. The next thing Michi knew she was under the water, unable to breathe...to do anything. Thankfully Sora escaped his pokeball and attacked Ken, saving Michi in the process.
As soon as Michi was able to calm down enough to run, she fled the lake as fast as she could. Where she was running to, she didn't know, or care...just as long as she could get as far away from her 'father' as possible. By the time she finally stopped running, she realized that she was at the pokedoctor's office. Pushing her way inside, Michi just barely made it inside before the adrenaline that had fueled her terrified race vanished and she collapsed onto the floor,. Weakened and sick, it was a miracle that Michi had made it that far as no sooner had she collapsed that the pokedoctor found her. When she next awakened it was to see his concerned face hovering above her. In her weakened state, Michi wasn't entirely sure where she was but she was glad to see a familiar, friendly face to say the least of things.
It would be a week before Michi was well enough to return home and even then she was weak. Being a Ponyta Pokémorph, water was especially harmful; as a result, Michi grew rather sickly before she showed any signs of getting better. After hearing Michi’s story when she had revered enough to talk coherently, the pokedoctor alerted child protective services about what Ken had attempted to do. Unfortunately, Ken and Hana had the police in their pocket and with a few well-placed bribes, Michi’s parents were found innocent of what they had been accused of doing. The story had simply been imagined by a traumatized child who had the misfortune of falling into a rushing river. Fortunately, Ken and Hana were placed under surveillance for the duration of the time the young Pokemorph was still recovering.
It was during this time that a psychic Pokémon that the pokedoctor happened to be treating noticed that Michi had the ability to read emotions. The ‘voices’ that had haunted her ever since she could remember were in fact emotions and not voices at all. After dealing with the adverse for so long without knowing what was wrong with her, Michi was relieved to finally understand where the ‘voices’ came from. Weak as she was there was no way she could have dealt with the negative emotions that seemed to ebb from her parents whenever she simply walked through the door. Thankfully the Pokémon took pity on Michi and taught her how she could shield her mind from others to avoid hearing the ‘voices’ as Michi had described them.
At first, it was difficult to put the shield in place and Michi was left exhausted by her failed attempts to do so. Determined to succeed, Michi refused to give up and kept trying despite how tired the attempts left her. After a few days, the Ponyta Pokémorph finally succeeded in creating the shield around her mind, albeit for a short amount of time but for Michi, that was enough; what mattered was that she had done it at long last. For the first time in a long time, Michi was actually happy…she had actually accomplished something and it felt amazing. No sooner had she done so however when Ken found her at long last, none too pleased after searching for days for his daughter. Frightened, Michi tried to evade him yet again but wasn’t fast enough and was soon dragged back to the room in the cellar.
The first thing Ken did was bind his daughter in chains once again before proceeding to punish her for daring to run away in the first place. He desired nothing less than perfection from Michi and the fact that she seemed intent on daydreaming and ruining his and Hana’s plans was unforgivable. One way or another, they would use her to infiltrate Pravus, the fact that they couldn’t brainwash her into believing Pravus to be the enemy anymore was inconsequential. There were other ways to persuade the child to do what she was told.
Instead of obeying Ken however, Michi grew more withdrawn than ever before. With the ability to feel the negative emotions rolling off of her so called father in waves, there was no possible way that she could trust him. His intentions felt…wrong…twisted in some way and Michi couldn’t bring herself to listen to him, no matter how he hurt her. Sora protected Michi as best he could but eventually he couldn’t bear to see just how miserable the Ponyta Pokémorph was and told her the truth about her parents. The Starly had overheard a conversation between Ken and Hana about getting rid of Michi and starting over again and didn’t want any harm to befall his beloved trainer.
Shocked and dismayed, Michi didn’t know what to say after hearing the truth. Everything she knew was a lie…it had all been a ploy to use her… Michi had never before felt so hurt and betrayed as she did in that moment. Nevertheless, it was clear that she couldn’t stay here any longer, not if they simply wanted to lose her like some tool or weapon. With Sora’s help, Michi escaped the cellar room and ran as far and as fast as she could. When they were out of sight, Sora went back to get a few supplies for the journey before they set out towards Pravus. Before returning however, the Starly went straight to the police and led them to the room where Michi had been held. With the evidence before them, the police couldn’t deny that they had a case of child abuse on their hands and immediately arrested Ken and Hana.
Shortly after they had been arrested, Sora returned to Michi with the supplies they needed to start on their journey, not once mentioning what had become of Ken and Hana. Even after learning about the truth of what her so called parents did, Michi would have never wished them harm. No, the one thing that Michi wanted more than anything was to find her real parents and Sora wasn’t going to distract her from that goal. At long last, Michi was out of that place and looking forward to finding where she really belonged…if she could find her family, her real family…if there was someone out there that really, truly loved her…that would be more than enough.
