Ah, the park! Evan's favorite place! Where he slept, where he ate, where he pretty much did everything! Finding food was easy for him, but he didn't like having to fight to get it. Though he would if necessary. Only the strong survive. His late trainer taught him that.
"Would you be proud of me?" He asked no one. This was the time of the day when he liked to remember what life was like before the war. How happy everyone was. His mother, his father, everyone. This was life to him, though. Happiness get taken away eventually, so why not just act happy forever?
"Or would you be upset that I'm living in the wild? You did like to shelter me." Man how he missed his trainer. Someone who took care of him. Even when he had accidentally fired a shadow ball at her. That actually happened more times than he would like to admit.
With a soft chuckle, he hopped on to a vacant swing. He would sleep on them, using them as a hammock. He was small enough for it to work and be comfortable. Closing his eyes slowly, he stared at the stars as they began to sparkle in the evening sky. He wouldn't be asleep for hours, but it never hurt to try to get to bed early, did it?

Quiet footsteps sounded on the smooth paths of white gravel. A seven-year old's unusual, light grey hair fluttered in the cool breeze. Her golden eyes flitted this way and that, absorbing the peaceful sight like a dry plant hungrily taking in water. It was night, so nobody was here, except for the child, her Pokemon, and someone else, although she didn't know it.
A Chatot flying over the girl's left shoulder shattered the silence. "Why are we here?! It's night, goodness!" The child shivered at the reminder. She had never liked night. Night was the setting in every ghost story. Also, the darkness made her uneasy. But surely, nothing could haunt the quiet, peaceful Memorial Park? All the same, it made her jumpy, but the seven-year old kept walking.
Her parents are always fine with the fact that she wandered around outside, as long as her Chatot, who carefully watches over his owner, accompanied her everywhere she went. The child's Skitty and Smeargle always went wherever the girl went, too. Right now, the child was heading for the swings. The swings are the girl's favorite playground toy. She would go have some fun, and then she would return home. Only for a little bit, though, the night always seemed threatening.
Her Chatot was worried about the night, too. Not because of the darkness, but because of the dangers. His owner was curious in a careless way. If there was a noise, she was sure to go investigate until she found the source, no matter what obstacles she had to overcome. The songbird inwardly sighed. This child would open the mouth of an infected Mightyena and peer inside, just to see how sharp its teeth were!
The girl arrived at the swings, with the Chatot overhead, her Smeargle beside her, and her Skitty asleep in her arms. She was surprised to see that one of the swings were occupied by an Eevee. The Smeargle poked the still Eevee with his tail, leaving a bright red dot of paint on his fur. "Hello? Are you okay?" The young Pokemon boldly asked him.

Evan jumped quickly to action, instinctively jumping off the swings to stand in a defensive stance, charging a shadow ball. He let it fade away as soon as he realized the disturbance wasn't threatening. A little girl with her pokemon, she wanted to swing. Though did the Smeargle really have to paint him.
"Hey, um, how easily does this wash off?" He asked the Smeargle. Though it took him a few minutes to register the question he had been asked. "Oh, um, yeah! I'm okay. Just camping out here for the night." This was a curious situation. The girl had her pokemon with her, sure, but it was still fairly dangerous at night. The baddies came out, battles between wild pokemon happened much more frequently. The park was no exception.
"What brings you all here?" He asked hesitantly.
