ABOUT THE PLAYER:
OOC Account: Elayne
What do you wish to be called?: Elayne
Other Characters: Nope
Link to previous character: N/A
BASIC INFORMATION:
Full Name: Khepri Hasina Holland
Nickname(s): Khep, Hasina
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Allegiance: NEUTRAL
Occupation (Position) : N/A
Species: Eevee Pokémorph
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Hair color and hair style:
Probably one of Khepri’s more obvious features is the dark auburn hair that nearly reaches her waist and acts much like a wild mane would. The dark coloration and soft, almost fur-like texture of her hair is a tell-tale sign that Khepri is in fact, not as human as she would appear. Probably due to this fact, Khepri has not once cut her hair even if it would be so much easier to manage the tangles if she did mostly because it hides her rather large Eevee ears. Usually, she will choose to braid her long hair or simply put it in a ponytail, other times, she’ll just decide she doesn’t want to mess with it and just leaves it down in tangles.
Eye Color:
Her large eyes are the same dark auburn color her hair is and are by far one of her most attractive features and are the focal point of her face. Most times her eyes appear open and happy but should she be upset or angry, Khepri’s eyes look almost black, as if a thundercloud has taken residence where her once auburn irises had been.
Height: 4’10”
Build:
Slim would be the polite way to describe her appearance at first glance considering Khepri has about the same amount of curves a twig would. In fact, at first glance, she looks more like a boy than anything else, if a scrawny one at that. Khepri actually has a rather high metabolism and can eat pretty much anything without having to worry about gaining more than a couple pounds, if that.
Skintone:
Khepri’s skin has a natural dark tan color to it mostly due to being part Eevee; add genetics into the mix and it is little wonder that Khepri rarely ever gets sunburned. Unlike normal smooth human skin however, Khepri’s skin feels just a little fuzzier than what is considered normal and has a texture similar to that of short fur.
Other Appearance Information:
Khepri is quite self-conscious about her appearance and goes through great pains to hide her scars, often times refusing to partake in events that will force her to reveal them. One especially bad scar that Khepri always keeps hidden is the brand on her right shoulder in the shape of a Pravus’ logo, a shield with an ornate ‘P’ in the center. Thus, even when the weather is ridiculously warm, Khepri refuses to wear anything less than her regular coarse red shirt and her comfortable blue jeans that are custom made to allow room for her tail. The only other noteworthy thing about Khepri is that her canines are just slightly longer than normal due to her Eevee DNA and she is able to extend her nails into a more claw-like shape. Though Khepri is able to turn into a slightly larger version of an Eevee, this is very difficult and extremely painful for her to do and as of right now has not been able to successfully transform.
Since Khepri ran away home she was able to bring precious little with her other than quite literally the clothes on her back. Usually, Khepri wears a red t-shirt which by this time has been reduced to little more than rags and a well worn, what might have been once blue jeans. Khepri wears a white bandage around her chest area because it’s just easier to deal with. The only accessories that Khepri wears are the seemingly out of place gold bangle cuffs around her ankles and wrists along with the gold hawk necklace that was originally her mother’s and is always seen wearing it.
PERSONALITY:
Likes:
- Rain- Khepri has always loved rainstorms for one reason or another. Oftentimes, she will dance in the rain or just walk in it because she can and absolutely loves the feeling of water in general.
- Nakhti- He’s her best friend as has always been there for her. Khepri honestly doesn’t know what she would do without him and loves spending time with him.
- Birds- She loves to watch birds soar through the sky and will sometimes even join them if she feels up to it. Birds are as attracted to her as she is to them and actually seem to listen to Khepri when she talks to them.
- Dogs- Khepri has always loved dogs and canines in general. Should she be able to have a Pokémon, it would be similar to a puppy that she could never have.
- Sweets- Candy and sweets in general were a rare treat when she was growing up and thus Khepri loves them. She will never pass up the opportunity to try something sweet and will hoard sweets given the chance. They were a rare occurrence when she was a child after all and she doesn’t want that to happen again. She is actually rather protective of her secret stash and will hit anyone who tries to steal her candy though she’s not opposed to stealing from other people.
Dislikes:
- Enclosed spaces- Put simply, Khepri has rather bad claustrophobia. Considering one of the punishments for disobedience was being locked in a cupboard or cabinet much too small for her, it is little wonder she can’t stand tight spaces. If she’s in a small space for too long Khepri will start to panic and look for a way out before beginning to hyperventilate. Needless to say she avoids such places like the plague and doesn’t even like being inside for too long.
- Disappointing anyone- Due to her upbringing, Khepri is almost terrified of disappointing others. Her parents were rather strict to say the least of it and disappointing them was almost as bad as breaking the law as far as they were concerned. Khepri will bend over backwards to make sure she doesn’t disappoint anyone again because of this and will do whatever it takes to make sure she does the task right the first time.
- Feeling helpless- Khepri absolutely hates being put in a situations in which she is useless and can’t do anything to help which is part of the reason she takes great pains to make sure nobody knows about her seal. She absolutely refuses to be babied and won’t sit on the sidelines while everyone else does all the work.
- Losing anyone- Khepri has a paranoid fear of losing anyone. This fear borders on severe separation anxiety and thus she can be a little clingy to those she calls friends. She is terrified of waking up one day and finding out that they just disappeared. Worse yet, finding that everyone she has known is dead and Khepri could do nothing to stop or prevent it.
- Authority- Khepri both hates and fears authority or people placed in a position of power. She despises being told what to do and refuses to bow down to anyone’s wishes, much less a teacher’s. Nevertheless, she knows all too well that those in authority can do more harm to her than any of her peers. She has learned the hard way that questioning a person in power is never a good thing and thus will bow to their wishes if she sees no other way out. However, should any of her peers try to order her around, Khepri will rebel against them every step of the way.
Strengths:
- Loyal- From a young age, loyalty was something that was drilled into Khepri. It was considered the worst possible sin to leave someone behind or betray someone that trusted you. Her own betrayal hurt Khepri more than she is willing to admit. She still struggles with what happened that day and has vowed never to do the same to anyone. Once someone has managed to gain her trust or vice versa, she will never let them down. Khepri knows how badly it hurts to have someone you trust betray you so completely. Thus if she realizes she has earned someone else’s trust, she will be an extremely loyal friend and be there whenever they need her, regardless if she trusts them in turn or not.
- Resilient- Khepri has been through a lot to say the least but even if life hasn’t been the kindest to her, she refuses to admit defeat. She frankly doesn’t care what happens to her and absolutely refuses to lose hope. There’s always another, better day coming after all, as long as her spirit remains strong and unbroken she has won. It might be her pride that refuses to let her be seen as weak but in the end, Khepri refuses to give in so easily. It takes a lot to break her and in though she might have been deemed ‘broken’ at one time, Khepri refuses to be seen in that same light again. Being seen as weak is something that is forbidden and thus even if she can barely walk; Khepri will pick herself up again and continue on. That’s what life is after all, a series of ups and downs but if you continue forwards then you’ll win, no matter what the cost.
- Natural leader- Though she doesn’t like to admit it, Khepri does have the natural ability lead others. Ironically, she doesn’t see herself as a leader and actually doesn’t like being put in the spotlight. Khepri doesn’t think very highly of herself to say the least and doesn’t think that she’ll be a good leader at all but when it comes down to it, she’s able to stay calm under pressure. Her natural leadership ability doesn’t come to light very often considering Khepri shies away from being put in such a position most of the time. It’s only when things get bad that she’ll try to step up and take the reins in order to try and salvage the situation while still remaining calm.
- Self-Defined- A bit of a loner, Khepri doesn’t like being told what to do at all, especially after her years of being mistreated. She wants to be seen as an individual, not just some part of a crowd or an object and strives to make herself known this way. Her ‘can do’ attitude isn’t meant to draw attention as much as it is to make sure those around her know that she is there. Too many times people have just passed her by without so much as a second thought-as if she was invisible. Now that Khepri has been given a second chance to actually be somebody, she is bound and determined to make sure she stands out from the crowd.
- Compassionate- Though life hasn’t been the kindest to her Khepri doesn’t take out whatever ill will she may have on others. Despite all odds, Khepri still retains a kind heart and always tries to help whenever she can. If it’s within her power to bring a smile to someone’s face, no matter how small, then it’s worth it. Khepri doesn’t care what consequences may be in store for her actions; in her mind, people are far more important than her own well-being or following some idiotic rule. She’s a bit of a bleeding heart and hates it when she sees suffering and is unable to do anything to alleviate it. After seeing, and experiencing, a lot of pain, it honestly hurts Khepri deeply to know that she can’t do anything. In Khepri’s eyes, it doesn’t matter what the other person did; nobody deserves to be in pain whether it’s from the actions or words of another. It doesn’t matter what happened to cause the person in question to be hurt, the fact is, they are hurting and Khepri will move mountains to help them out.
Weaknesses:
- Pride- It is said that pride comes before the fall and Khepri is certainly no exception to this. Her own stubbornness combined with her prideful nature makes it almost impossible for her to ask for help. Rather, she refuses to admit that she is weak and would rather suffer the consequences than admit such a thing.
- Family- As much as Khepri wishes she could say she hates her family and move on, it’s impossible for her to do such a thing. Ever since she was a little girl, Khepri has been taught that family comes first no matter what. At the same time, she knows she should love her family and doesn’t know how to act around them anymore. They’re a bit of a stumbling block to say the least and generally Khepri avoids contact with her family rather than face them again. It’s simply easier to stay out of their way then try and answer the question of what they mean to her now, even after all that happened.
- Self-questioning/conscious- Khepri’s confidence is virtually non-existent. After being broken pretty badly, she constantly doubts herself and worries about making the right decision. She doesn’t have the confidence to believe that she’s good at anything and is extremely self-conscious when it comes to her appearance. Though it may not look that way, Khepri does want to be seen as beautiful but doesn’t think that’ll ever be the case. Her scars mar whatever beauty there might have been after all, not to mention the brand that is a constant reminder of the shame she must bear for the rest of her life. As much as she wishes it wasn’t true, Khepri truly believes that she is ugly and isn’t even sure if she would make a good leader like she was supposedly destined to be.
- Distrustful- Trust doesn’t come easy for Khepri to say the least. Sure she may respect her friends and authoritative figures but trust is something that must be earned. After being betrayed by those whom she trusted with her life, it’s little wonder that Khepri is skeptical at best about people. She’s learned the hard way how badly betrayal hurts and thus has the tendency to hold a piece of her heart back. A part of her believes that the same thing will happen again and Khepri doesn’t want to be hurt like that again. Needless to say it will take a long time for anyone to gain her trust and even then it’ll take Khepri a while before she’ll admit she trusts anyone.
Personality:
Khepri has chronic low self-esteem and little to no confidence in herself or her so called talents. She genuinely thinks she is lower than garbage after having lived almost half her life treated as such and doesn’t believe that will ever change. Though she might be weaker than most, Khepri refuses to be treated as a helpless child and abhors being a burden on anyone else. She’s dealt with pain most of her life to the point where she simply doesn’t care if she gets hurt or not. Pain is nothing new to her and sometimes Khepri almost seems to enjoy the torture pain brings and appears almost defiant to whomever or whatever is hurting her. To Khepri, her life means next to nothing now that it seems she will never be able to return to her family and it is this that drives her to be reckless. This being said, Khepri is by no means suicidal, however, if anyone is in danger, Khepri will sacrifice herself without hesitation if there’s just the slightest chance that it will save them. Khepri doesn’t fear death; in fact she almost welcomes it. Khepri has turned rather bitter and rebellious towards almost everyone and everything. Khepri is rather set in her ways and hates being told what to do in any way, shape, or form or trying to control her. She has had enough of being ordered around to last her a lifetime, or so she believes and will clash heavily with anyone who tries to do so. Every one of her peers is seen as an equal in her eyes and thus Khepri doesn’t see any reason to listen to them when they’re all in the same place. Khepri tends to cut herself off (or attempt to) from anyone and everyone else lest she gets too close to anyone else and risk getting hurt again. If she has learned anything, it’s that making friends can hurt you in the long run because they can be used to manipulate you. With this mindset so firmly in place, Khepri has a hard time making friends or opening up to others lest history repeat itself.
Khepri gives those she sees as elders the respect they deserve upon first meeting them but not her trust. Trust, just as respect is something to be earned and though their positions grant them some respect, this can just be as quickly retracted. Just as with her peers, Khepri doesn’t appreciate being told what to do. In a certain settings she understands that she should respect their wishes. However, that doesn’t mean she has to like it and depending on the person and how they treat her, she can either be sweet and one of the most polite people they’ll meet or a rebellious witch who refuses to do anything. The latter usually only happens if the person has lost her respect or Khepri has simply lost interest in the subject and simply doesn’t see the point in doing what was asked of her. This is not to say she’s lazy but doing menial work just because somebody has told you to do it rubs her the wrong way to say the least. If there’s no point to the task, Khepri will drag her feet doing it or simply not finish it at all. She truly doesn’t care what other people think of her and will be the first to let others know exactly how much of a waste of time the assignment is.
From the time she was young, Khepri has always been rather opinionated and isn’t shy about letting others know exactly what she thinks. Khepri is quite blunt and sometimes harsh in the way she speaks, having little to no tact whatsoever. This makes her appear rude but the way Khepri sees it is if they wanted fluffy good news then they shouldn’t have asked for the truth. Truth can sometimes be harsh yes, but a harsh truth is better than a gentle lie in the long run. Khepri absolutely hates liars and refuses to be one of them and almost chronically tells the truth even if it’s rather uncomfortable to do so. Usually in situations where she’s uncomfortable with letting the questioner know the truth, she’ll attempt to steer the conversation in another direction to hopefully avoid answering. Though her brashness is what usually comes across first and foremost when conversing with others, Khepri does have some knowledge of how to handle a situation more tactfully than she lets on. She is able to talk civilly but more often than not refuses to simply because it frustrates her.
When it comes to girly things such as makeup, dresses and the like, Khepri simply doesn’t understand why she is supposed to like them. Fashion is just a bunch of nonsense as far as she’s concerned; who cares about looking nice if you’re just going to be miserable in the long run. Khepri would much rather wear something that’s comfortable and be able to run, play, etc. without having to worry about ruining her clothes. In all honesty, though Khepri doesn’t understand why other girls enjoy things like dressing up, makeup, and well…pretty much everything else, she will still give it a chance. As much as she hates people telling her what to do or trying to control her, Khepri does care what others think of her and will try new things, no matter how ridiculous they might seem to her at least once. Khepri is a bit contradictory in that she does want to try and fit in but at the same time, doesn’t want to get close to people so she can’t be manipulated because of her relationships with other people.
The only exception to Khepri’s standoffish behavior is family. From the time she was young, Khepri was always taught that family is important and must always stay together lest chaos reign. However, Khepri’s view of family has been warped since then and is rather conflicted about her family to say the least. She knows she should love her family and be close to them but at the same time, that trust has been shattered and Khepri honestly doesn’t know how to interact with them anymore. More than likely should she meet any of them again she would be as standoffish as she is with other people and would seem almost scared of them initially. Trust is something that is hard for Khepri to do but considering her history, she is more inclined to trust those she sees as family than anybody else. Likewise, if someone introduces themselves as ‘family’ regardless of whether they’re related by blood or not, Khepri will be more inclined to trust them. She’s not naïve by any means certainly and won’t immediately trust those who introduce themselves as family but it at least opens the door to her heart, even if it is just a little.
Khepri is quite smart and picks up things fairly easily when given the opportunity to learn. The main problem is getting her motivated to keep at something long enough to understand it. She gets easily distracted especially when there’s something much more fun that she could be doing. Needless to say it’s quite difficult for Khepri to sit still for long periods of time and more often than not gets frustrated with whatever she’s working on if she has to sit still. Studying is the bane of her existence and though Khepri knows she should study, it’s just so boring when she’d much rather be outside playing. Khepri is extremely easy distracted, especially when it comes to jewelry or really anything shiny for that matter. She lights up when seeing the dazzling trinkets and would stare at them for hours given the chance. If she was able to, Khepri would actually hoard all sorts of gems and various other shiny objects simply because she loves them so much. Not that she would admit this obsession of sorts to anyone of course, it’s something she has managed to keep secret for this long and would much rather it stay that way.
Should someone manage to get past her standoffish nature, they’ll find that Khepri is actually quite the little dare devil. She loves to play pranks on people as well as practical jokes just because it’s hilarious to see the reactions people give. Khepri likes to have fun and if she could, would play all day and all night. Not only is Khepri a troublemaker, but she loves to purposely make people flustered and watch them squirm. This is not to say that she’ll simply walk up to a complete stranger and start flirting with them but she will sometimes tease her friends in this manner. When it comes to actual romance however, Khepri is completely oblivious to most, if not all advances towards her unless they are blatantly obvious. Once she does realize that someone is pursuing her, Khepri is a horrible tease and purposely plays hard to get as much to try and dissuade them as to see how true their devotion is to her. Anything subtle will go right over Khepri’s head, if someone wants to tell her something, they need to be straight forward or the young Horus won’t fully understand. Should anyone manage to fluster Khepri, they will find that she has a tendency to ramble random truths about herself or the situation just to try and ease the discomfort she’s feeling at the time. Most of the time Khepri catches herself and shuts up before rambling too much but other times she might reveal something that she would have rather kept a secret. Either way, Khepri tries to stay out of uncomfortable situations because of this or will just try and keep her mouth shut lest she blurt out anything she’ll regret saying later.
BACKGROUND:
History:
Farren Holland was a loyal soldier for Pravus for years and had climbed the ranks rather quickly because of that loyalty. Though he wasn’t a soldier on the front lines, his work was just as important to him at least. After all, he was serving the country that had always treated him well and kept him safe from the monsters outside Nada’s walls. The least he could do was do his part to make sure the city remained safe. After a time, Farren’s loyalty was recognized at last and he was allowed to become a Pokémorph should he desire to. Farren immediately agreed and was transformed into a Jolteon Pokémorph. It took a while to get used to his newfound abilities but Farren did not once regret the decision that allowed him to fulfill his duties more effectively. He would meet Adonia soon after and would eventually marry her. For Farren, it seemed like the perfect life until he heard that Adonia was pregnant. Though he was admittedly not thrilled at the idea of having a child to contend with, Farren eventually warmed up to the idea. After all, the child would be able to carry on his legacy and continue to serve Pravus.
Khepri was born as an Eevee Pokémorph much to her parents’ delight. Not only did they have a beautiful baby girl, but she would eventually grow to be a strong warrior and serve Pravus just as her father did. From the beginning however, Khepri was always getting into trouble. If it wasn’t drawing on walls, tables, or anything she could get her hands on, she was taking things apart or making a big mess. Farren’s plans to make Khepri into a strong warrior seemed like they wouldn’t come to pass without a lot of work and thus he opted to take matters into his own hands to curb his daughter’s behavior and with Adonia’s cooperation, created a strict set of rules. From then on, Farren more or less ran his household like the military would. After all, they were both Pokémorphs and were expected to be loyal considering Pravus was the only reason they were able to be gifted with Pokémon traits.
A military man to the core, Farren was a rather hard man to please and as Khepri grew, she began to be rather dependent on her his approval. Her mother loved her and told her so every day but as for father, such words were rare for him to say. Khepri wanted her father to love her just like any girl would but his love was to be earned and thus she did whatever he told her without question. She trusted him after all and though it seemed that every part of her life, from when she ate to when she hung out with friends was controlled, Khepri didn’t mind. If that is what it took to gain her father’s love, she would do it in a heartbeat.
Sometimes Khepri would go with her parents to events where other Pokémorphs were and she was allowed to play with kids her age that looked like they had some Pokémon in them as well. For whatever reason her father didn’t like the human kids and forbid her to play with them simply because she was ‘better’ than them. This confused Khepri but young as she was, did as she was told and played with the Pokémorph children just like the good little girl she was. It was here she met Nakhti, a Servine Pokémorph that seemed to take great pleasure in laughing at how big her ears were and pulling at them. Khepri retaliated by pulling on his tail and a fight would ensue thereafter much to their parents’ displeasure. Farren immediately stepped in and separated the two of them and lectured Khepri in front of everyone about how inappropriate her behavior was. Ashamed, Khepri looked down and apologized over and over again, trying to fight back the tears that threatened to form when Nakhti stepped in front of her and started yelling at Farren. Shocked, Khepri looked up, almost scared for the boy but all Farren did was smirk, call Nakhti a good little soldier before giving her another scolding glance and walking away. To say Khepri was shaken by the whole thing was an understatement. That look meant that the conversation wasn’t over with and she dreaded what punishment would await her back home. Nakhti had granted her a reprieve certainly but…why had he done that…
To her surprise, after Farren left, Nakhti turned around and asked her if she was alright. It was odd to say the least of things…why would the boy who was teasing her just moments ago stand up for her…and to her dad of all people. In truth, Khepri was honestly not sure if she was alright or not but nodded anyway, even smiling a little when he offered her ice cream. The rest of the evening was fun and Khepri thought that she might have even made a new friend and went home in high spirits. This wasn’t to last however as shortly after Khepri returned home, Farren scolded her once again about her behavior earlier that evening and sent her to ‘solitary confinement’, or a small dark cupboard that could be locked from the outside. Khepri hated the cupboard, it terrified her but there was nothing she could do about it. She couldn’t stand up to her dad after all, and mom didn’t do anything about it even though Khepri had practically begged her not to let him. The young Eevee Pokémorph would end up spending the night in the cupboard before Farren finally let her out the next morning.
Khepri and Nakhti would continue to ‘play’ together with Farren’s encouragement. He liked the boy’s spirit after all and hoped that Nakhti would be able to teach Khepri a thing or two about what it meant to be a soldier. Unfortunately this plan of sorts didn’t go over so well as Khepri and Nakhti seemed to despise each other and would fight every chance they got. Farren’s constant supervision certainly didn’t help either and though Khepri did try to behave, Nakhti just seemed to find a way to make her angry all over again. It certainly didn’t help that they attended the same school together but at least there were other people Khepri could talk to that didn’t insult her at every turn. The two would end up in detention almost on a daily basis and end up in separate corners, leering at each other stubbornly.
Eventually the fighting would stop and the two would become rather close friends before heading into middle school. The change in schools came as a bit of a shock to Khepri however as most of her friends and classmates got switched to other classes and there were different teachers for everything. Not only that, but there seemed to be a group of kids that had made it their mission to make her life miserable. They despised Pokémorphs and saw fit to remind her how much of mistake she was each and every day. At first, she lashed out and tried to fight back but that only served in making it worse. As an Eevee Pokémorph, she was smaller than average, and though she could outrun the best of them, it simply wasn’t in her nature. To make matters worse, when she told her parents about what had happened, Farren would claim it was her fault that she was being bullied in the first place and sent her to solitary confinement. Khepri’s grades began to slip as the bullying grew worse and even her old friends, with the exception of Nakhti, turned their back on her.
One day after coming home from school, Khepri was confronted by Farren about her grades only to receive evasive answers from the young Pokémorph as she tried to explain why without mentioning the bullies. By this time, Khepri had learned the hard way that even mentioning what was going on at school would only result in solitary confinement in that awful cupboard. Instead of risking that, Khepri simply took the verbal lashing and said that she would try to do better. Farren seemed to see right through this lip service and said that it was clear that this Nakhti was doing nothing to help her and told her that she was no longer permitted to see the boy. Khepri lashed out at Farren for the first time and yelled at him, telling him that this was his fault, not Nakhti’s that she was failing. Furious at the outburst, Farren decided to punish this clear insubordination by taking one of his medals, in the shape of Pravus’ insignia, heating it with an open flame, and branding it on his daughter’s shoulder. The pain was excruciating and Khepri begged him to stop but Farren simply said that this would be a reminder of who she was meant to serve, of what she was born to serve. After this, Khepri was sentenced to confinement once again, sobbing as she tried to come to grips with what had just happened.
Since it was now clear that she couldn’t talk to her family about what was going on at school, and was even blamed for it, Khepri withdrew and started to seek out solitude. That way she could hopefully stay out of everyone’s way and not draw attention to her. She even took to growing her hair out to hide her Eevee ears as much as she could though there was nothing she could do about her tail or her more obvious Eevee traits unfortunately. High school was worse and with nobody to turn to, since she didn’t want to worry Nakhti, Khepri took to cutting herself. It at least gave her some control in her life when everything else was being decided for her; her future, what friends she had, everything…this wasn’t freedom…this was a prison and Khepri hated it.
One day when she was walking home from school, a group of kids surprised her and though she tried to get away ended up cornering her and beating and cutting her before leaving her for dead, or so they believed. Thankfully Nakhti found her shortly afterwards and picked and unconscious Khepri up and took her to his home to patch her up. When she awoke thereafter, she would receive an earful about how worried Nakhti had been and that she should have told him before he simply hugged her. Khepri was beside herself and just sobbed into his arms, repeatedly telling him how sorry she was. Nakhti tried to convince her to stay with him but Khepri refused, not wanting to hide from her father, or anyone for that matter. Despite him trying to convince her otherwise, she went back home and dealt with another lecture about how she should have fought back.
Things only got worse thereafter. Khepri felt as if she was suffocating and started cutting herself again but at least this time she had Nakhti. Even that didn’t seem to help however as she fell into the same pattern of abuse at school and a prison at home. It was rather evident to Nakhti that her home was toxic and was slowly killing her and tried to convince her several times to leave. Khepri stubbornly refused however, almost scared what leaving might mean after it was all she had ever known. Eventually she relented and agreed to run away as soon as summer vacation started. Considering it was only weeks away, Nakhti agreed and after some planning, they ran away. Since then, they have been travelling to other regions, and only recently returned to Remoor.

Though she might not look it, Autumn is quite the little devil and loves playing pranks on others, especially unsuspecting Nakhti. In all honesty, Autumn just might be a little jealous of how much time Khepri spends with him and that's why Autumn picks on him almost constantly.
Extremely protective of Khepri, this Pumpkaboo is quite the fighter despite her small stature and refuses to give up no matter what the circumstances. It can get her into trouble sometimes when Autumn finds herself in over her head but with as stubborn and sometimes bull-headed this Pumpkaboo is, she will win or fight until she can no longer stand.

It was clear that something else had her on edge other than the fact that she had almost gotten assaulted but as to what it was the vampiress didn't care to speculate on. For whatever reason the offer to go to the cafe made Sally tense up even more but that made no sense whatsoever...usually getting out of an alleyway would calm people rather than make them worry. Unless Sally saw Carly as a threat...in which case it would make sense that she would be uneasy. That was crazy though, who in their right mind would think the person who had saved them was a threat. Maybe Sally was crazy, Carly had no idea if that was the case but for now she'd wait for an answer and go from there. Besides, the cafe was close to the bridal boutique she had in mind so it wasn't that far out of her way. Really, now that the vampiress thought about it, she probably should have just ditched Sally and headed to the boutique but ah well, hopefully finding her dress wouldn't take all that long.
When Sally finally answered her question, the vampiress smiled-careful not to show her fangs- and nodded. It was doubtful that anyone else would attack them now considering Carly was fairly well known as a detective in the area but she wasn't really worried about that. Carly was rather confident in her ability to protect herself and still conceal what she was. Heck, she'd been doing it for years now and nobody had suspected her yet, why would that change now. The comment about not being in a hurry elicited another nod from Carly as she led the way out of the alley. She was about to enter the cafe when the vampiress caught sight of one of her friends from the precinct. Well, wasn't that just her luck, now she could tell someone about the attempted attack and not have to worry about it later. Ugh...why did it have to be Roberto...he always treated her like a child and just-sigh...ah well, best get this over with.
Flagging down the officer in question, Carly waited until the man came over...and proceeded to pick her up and spin her around like a little girl... It was all Carly could do to resist the urge to punch him then and there,"Dammit Roberto! Put me down, I'm not a child!"she all but spat out before the officer did as was demanded of him, grinning from ear to ear as he did so. "Do that again and I swear I'll make ya regret it,"Carly sighed out before rubbing her temples briefly,"Anyway, couldya put an alert for three thugs? They had the audacity to try and attack Sally here, I ended up drawing them away and scaring them off but the cowards will probably try again," she continued, thankful that Roberto's stupid smirk had faded away to something more serious as he pulled out his notebook.
As Carly listed the details about the men that had attempted to rob them, the officer wrote down everything and said that he would deal with it once he arrived at the precinct again before asking her what she was doing attracting thugs to attack in the first place. Smirking, Carly shrugged, "What can I say? I guess I just can't stay outta trouble~. Yeah I know it's my day off but hey, all I did was drop my purse then defended myself when they tried to attack. No harm done. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I work too much but I'm not gonna stand by and do nothing either. Anyway, gotta go, I promised I'd treat Sally to the cafe here before going wedding dress shopping. Oh shaddap you, I don't want to hear it Mr. I'm-married-already-with-a-baby-on-the-way,"she quipped, fending off any attempt at teasing on Roberto's part.
It was no news to well...everyone at the precinct that Carly was excited about getting married and nigh everyone gave her a hard time about the honeymoon and the like. Of course, Carly had only just begun preparations, she still had a long way to go before the vampiress could believe herself to be ready for the big day. With that, Roberto finally stopped trying to tease Carly and went on his way before telling the two ladies to have fun. Waving goodbye, Carly turned back to Sally and motioned to the cafe,"Sorry about that, he's a friend from work. Shall we go?"the vampiress explained briefly before heading into the cafe without really waiting for a reply. Sitting down at a table adjacent to the window, Carly leaned back in her chair and waited for Sally to join her. No doubt the exchange with Roberto would elicit questions from Sally but Carly wasn't all too worried about it, it wasn't a big secret that she was a detective anyway and Sally would've found out sooner or later.
