The air was electric in the club tonight, though this was probably true for every night. Though it seemed curious that so many people would be up so late to be dancing and drinking with one another, especially ones so young as these, but that was the way it was with humanity in this day and age. Once they had finally thrown off the shackles of darkness that had for so long kept them trapped in their homes past the sun's descent, they had seemed determined beyond all reason to take the night and make it no different than the day. This was of course the nature of humanity, to take the things that had once mastered them and force them to submit to their will. Though quite often a rather negative aspect of their collective psyche it was nevertheless at times harmless or even pleasant, such as in places like this.
After their sourpuss of a brother had left them, much to Zephryne's lament, the remaining two legendary cats had not seen fit to follow his example and resume their separation. The youngest of their number of course had not even the slightest objection to this; it had been so long since she had last even seen her brothers, let alone spent any time with them. As such she was greatly thankful that Pyring was in the same mindset as she, and so gladly went along with him, clinging to his arm like an affectionate schoolgirl the entire way. She did however protest somewhat, though admittedly not very forcefully, when he decided that he wanted to spoil her with gifts and treats. These at first came in the form of new clothing, as he claimed he didn't like how her current attire hid her away. This was something she was not altogether keen on. For on she was still becoming accustomed to these confining human 'skins', and for another she enjoyed the concealment her loose clothing gave her as she was still uncertain as to whether her presence should be revealed. Unlike her brothers she had never spent much time amongst the humans, certainly none in many centuries, and so she had no idea as to how they functioned. To her they were as mysterious as she to them.
In the end however she was unable to prevent the elder cat from doing as he wished and so she was now in clothing that was in equal measures more constricting and more freeing, but most assuredly more revealing and much more colorful. It seemed very strange to her when she gazed at her image in the curious reflecting glasses. She was so used to her natural form, and in absence of that her bare human form, that she could not be certain as to how she felt about such trappings. But even she had to admit that it was rather flattering in her current visage, and she had to admit that were she looking at another she would find it rather appealing. This revelation was confirmed with a bit of form shifting that was also accompanied by a great many furtive glances and a good bit of blushing.
After that they had departed the shopping areas and entered a portion of the city that appeared to be decided for entertainment or pleasure; though for some whose senses were as finely tuned as Zephryne's, it was a never ending assault on her nerves. It certainly didn't help matters that there were now multitudes of humans, a seemingly endless hoard in fact, and it left her once more clinging to her brother's arm, though this time with a great deal more trepidation. When they entered the club, only to find themselves amongst many more people and many more lights and much more sound, Zeph physically blanched and almost left. It was only her love for her brother and her longing for those long lost days of their past that she stayed. She did however try and seat herself in a place that was as uncrowded, dim, and far from the sound machines as she could. While she allowed Pyring to handle any accommodations she glanced about nervously, turning her sheepish gaze upon the fiery god once he had concluded things. "I apologize for how I am behaving. I must seem like a silly little kitten...."

It had been far too long since Pyring had been able to deal with a sane sister. Even longer since he had been able to spend that time how he wished. So it was understandable that the fire cat had gone a bit overboard in spoiling his sibling, or it would had that not been how he behaved in the old days. Regardless, the god of fire fully intended to make up for lost time this evening, and damn any consequences that may or may not come up. It was a pitty that Gail was such a stick in the mud, but no matter. They'd make draging the fussy feline around town for another night. With Zephryne in enough of a mind to do this on a regular basis, it was possible.
First order of business, was shopping. Despite the mixed results of the night, it was still an occasion to party. And it was very hard to party when you were in sack cloth bags dyed to look like normal clothing. Despite his somewhat reservations about turning his sister into a dress up doll, Pyring had to admit he had some fun trying to find something her human form would look good in. The fact that the outfit he chose was pink, and by extension red-ish was icing on the cake as it were.
It was sweet how Zephryne clung to his arm, he had to admit. He relished the contact. He was greedy for affirmation that his sister was here, and that she wasn't going to turn around and rip his arm off in order to beat him with it. Carefully, he pushed through all the people to reach his destination, the only place where one could party. A night club. Reluctantly, he let her go so he could go and order a couple drinks. He decided to keep it relatively light for the moment, and decided on something a little fruity. A couple of Bahama Mamas were made up, and he returned to the seat with the glasses.
Pyring gazed at his sister over her glass, attempting to give her his most serious face possible. "Indeed you have, Zephryne. As a godess, and sentinel of Remoor you are not allowed to behave anything less then your best. Arceus knows what would happen if Legendaries were allowed to behave like 'silly little kittens'" He gave a mock sniff and took a sip of his drink. "So apology accepted..." The feline couldn't take it any longer and burst out laughing. "I'm sorry, I can't handle seriousness for too long." He calmed down and patted his sibling. "It's allright. No one's gonna fault you for being overwhelmed. It's been too long since you've had your own mind, after all."

Whilst awaiting the return of her brother, Zephryne allowed herself to look about the place they had come to and to study the people therein. This was the first 'club' she had ever been to, the majority of her time in the human world spent simply trying to find establishments that might provide her with sustenance. It was fortunate indeed for her that cities such as this seemed to possess large populations of avian pokémon, perhaps attracted by the availability of food and as a result contributing to it. Though she loved all of the creatures within her protection, there was simply no denying that nothing tasted quite so good as a nice, fat Pidgey in the morning.
Upon her brother's return she smiled at him, her lips curving gracefully, and took the glass he handed to her. She then cradled the strange container in her hands, peering at the orange liquid within dubiously. "You are quite certain this is palatable? It isn't another one of your pranks involving lava?" While true that the glass was considerably colder than the molten rock that Gaillardia had once been tricked into drinking, it was always best to be cautious when handed something by one of her trickster brothers. Somewhat reluctantly she raised it to her lips, taking a tentative sip. Immediately her nose wrinkled and she scraped her tongue against the roof of her mouth. It wasn't lava, but it did burn and appeared to be some sort of fruit juice. "It's.....not bad. Must it burn so going down though?"
Zephryne took another sip of the fruity fire liquid before placing it down, her eyes lingering on it curiously for a few moments before turning to her brother upon his speaking. The look of seriousness on his face was confusing to her at first, but his words quickly cleared up any nervousness she might have had. Though she had thought he might have had a reprimand prepared it was only more of his usual snark and so the goddess merely rolled her eyes, smiling in spite of herself. "Yes, heaven forbid my poor conduct leads to something such as, oh I don't know, the burning of a sacred grove." She gave him a pointed look, her smile curving just a bit into an amused smirk. She had long ago learned that the easiest way to deflect any guilt from herself, was simply to bring up much more patent cases of guilt involving her beloved, foolish, brothers.
At his final words however her smile faltered, and her eyes lowered to focus on her hands, now fidgeting with the glass nervously. It was strange how he could speak of it so casually, as though it were just a mild cold. Perhaps in the grand scheme he saw it as such, just a minor misfortune to be put behind them. But Zephryne could never think of it as such, could never forget it. She had lost her very soul to the madness, and worst of all had been forced to watch, helpless, as she did things so monstrous they'd sickened her to simply think of. But even so.... It was past, wasn't it? She had fallen to the darkness, yet here she sat, smiling with her brother, miracles growing within her womb. The mere thought of the latter returned a warm, motherly smile to her lips and she looked back to the fiery maned man seated next to her. "Yes, it has been too long, hasn't it? Tell me dear brother, how have you been, and Gail? How does the world fare in my absence? I have missed so much these past years, it would be nice to know what has gone on within the interim."

At the question, Pyring brought up his most solemn face for the occasion. Taking one hand and placing it over his chest, and he decided to hold the other straight up in the air. "Upon my honor, Fair Maiden, I do so swear to you that thine concoction is not made up of molten rock." The fire cat gave a shrug as he dropped his hands and he took a sip of his drink. "Besides, I doubt they sell lava at this establishment. Heathens, I say. Don't know what they're missing." The feline grinned as his sister took his first sip of alcohol. "It must, it must. It's part of the experience, as I am to understand it. You can't get a good drink without it feeling like it's peeling layers off of your throat." He took another taste of his drink, still grinning. "I happen to like the stuff. Goes quite well on the way down, and the burn is quite pleasant for me. Though I am of fire after all." The fire god gave his drink a speculative look. "You think the grumpy brother of ours would like this? I doubt he's had it any more then you." Pyring laughed. "Now there's a thought, eh?"
"Hey now," the flame god looked over his sunglasses at his sister reproachfully. "I swear that wasn't my fault. Grumpy-briches just took fault at one of my jokes and things escalated from there." He sniffed. "Trees shouldn't be so flammable anyway, it's like they're begging to be ash." Although not just Gail was displeased with that incident, he had to admit. No few of his kin, once they realized what had happened had done their best to chew him out a new orifice. It was a sacred grove for a reason, and because of some mishap it was sacred ash. Gail had managed to regrow the trees in the grove in short order, it was true, but many were still unhappy at it happening in the first place. Never make a joke around the plant god, bad things happen around him.
The cat gave a smile. "Things go well, I think. Present circumstances notwithstanding. The humans haven't managed to burn their charming city down, as of yet, and things seem more or less peaceful. I don't know anything about Gail, you know how we are." He gave a cough and looked away momentarily before continuing. "Also, I don't know if you noticed, but I have a companion now. Happened not too long ago." Pyring gave a nod and grinned. "A certain mangy furball by the name of Blaze has decided to follow me around. I rescued his caretaker out in the wilds, and the poor thing managed to become infatuated with me." He shrugged. "Bet you never thought to see your brother have company with a dog, now did you?" The legendary had enough tact not to mention Zeph's own relationship with Abbey. If he brought it up, it'd do fair to ruin his mood.

Try as she might the goddess could do little more than roll her eyes and shake her head at her dear brother's antics. It was no small wonder to many how one such as he had managed so long with his duties, yet most merely questioned how the humans were still able to worship him with the way he acted. Zephryne herself wondered thsi from time to time, but in truth she wondered at it when it came to any of them. The only one truly worthy of worship was he father himself, they were merely his hands upon this earth, performing the tasks too small or time consuming for him to waste his focus upon. Thus, to she at least, they were no more special than any other being that walked across the land, swam in the waters, or flew through the skies. Why the humans would go so far as to worship them she would never comprehend.
Once Pyring began to complain of their brother she smiled, knowing that he was not trying to act anything other than his true self. She appreciated that, dearly. It had been so long since she was with her brothers and she did not wish them to tiptoe about her as though she were some fragile doll of glass, she wished for them to be themselves; their rude, boisterous, impertinent, silly selves. Thus she giggled as he went on, amused as always at the playful enmity between the siblings. "Somehow I have trouble believing him to be any more innocent than, dear brother. If my memory serves correctly neither of you ever had any qualms as to acting in a quite mortal manner." She paused, long enough to give him a look and make sure he saw it. "And might I remind you, as your memory seems to be slipping, that it was not the sourgrass but a certain hothead that lost their temper and led to said escalation." Pyring was just like his given element, likely to combust at any moment but just as likely to sputter out the next. His rages never lasted very long, but with his powers that was all the time it took to level a forest or cause a grassland to vanish. Zephryne herself could not blame him however, death was all a part of life, and rebirth could not come without the first birth having been canceled out.
She turned her gaze to the large Arcanine once he was mentioned, letting the now gray orbs flicker over his imposing form as she smiled at him. "I have indeed. Being as he appears to be the wiser of the pair I can only hope that he's been keeping you out of trouble, brother." She couldn't resist giving the elder deity a cheeky grin, as always never above poking fun at her kin, especially in the areas where it happened to be rather close to fact. Though she wished to, dearly, she did not ask Pyring what might have become of her own companions, whom she had forced to leave her side for their own safety once the madness had begun to take hold. Zephryne would give much to know of their safety, but she knew that she would be hard pressed to keep herself composed should she learn that they had met an ill fate. As such she merely kept silent on the matter, and asked another instead "And how did the two of you come to be together?

The god of fire shrugged as he took another drink of the concoction. "Aye, it's probably safe to say i was a bit to blame too, sib. You know that we hardly get along and have no qualms of showing it. But you'd think that being based on plants, Gail would be a bit more mellow. I mean, come on, it's way too easy for me to rile him up." The feline gave a great big grin at his sister as he added. "And making it easy makes it fun. I can't resist."
Pyring shook his head. "Gail would say it was my fault. I promise that under the circumstances, it was closer to self-defense then being riled up. Our dear brother did try to strangle me and rip me asunder. I was merely making sure that didn't happen."
Blaze met Zephrynes gaze and then chuffed. "He's you're brother, you should know exactly how hard it is to do that. I try, but you might as well ask me to make fire burn downwards then to keep Pyring out of trouble. He will do as he wishes, I just try to lessen the impact of it."
Pyring turned over to look at his companion and gave him a look. "You've tried to get me in trouble too, mut. I don't wanna hear it."
The arcanine gave Pyring a guiless look. "Have not."
The legendary turned back to his sister. "I was wandering in Gail's woods. Stumbled on this little human boy with this mangey thing. They were being attacked by some spliced, infected pokemon, and I intervened. I escorted them back here, and on the way the boy told me that he took in and helped pokemon on the street. Blaze here was one of them, and they mentioned that he was ready to be out of therapy. Blaze asked to come with me, and so he's been following me ever since. Beggin' for table scraps." The cat grinned and winked. "Ain't that right bud?"

Zephryne could do nothing but giggle at her dear brother's meager attempts to justify his own actions. She knew without doubt that Gaillardia would be doing the exact same thing were he the one being questioned. Believe it or not but she actually wished he were her for this particular conversation. It was always so amusing to watch the two scrap, even though the effects were quite often devastating. They would both assert that the other was in the wrong until the end times, but what neither of them ever seemed to realize was that both of them were at fault. Perhaps that was hat made it so amusing, the fact that she got to watch comfortably from the moral high ground.
Likewise she giggled behind her hand as the Arcanine proceeded to tell her what sh was well aware of. Pyring and Blaze seemed to have quite a dynamic between them, their personalities seemingly meshing quite well. Of course they picked at and complained about one another, but she'd learned long ago that that seemed to just be the male way of showing affection. She was quite glad that her brother had a companion to keep him company whilst she could not. Though her world was filled with darkness, she seemed to always find some small light in the midst of it all. Perhaps that was some sort of sign from the father; she certainly liked to think so.
As the pair continued their banter the single female turned her gaze to the room about. She proceeded to examine all of the young humans as they mingled with one another, particularly those in the centre of the upper area that were all grouped together, gyrating their bodies to the strange noises coming from some hidden source. It was a strange thing to be certain, but she assumed this must merely be some form of dance amongst the youth. It somewhat resembled the many tribal rituals that she had witnessed, and her brothers had participated in, in ages long past.
Watching the young people and listening to the curiously invigorating beat, the legendary felt herself overcome by a strange urge. She wanted to join them, to participate in this activity. Never before had she ever done so, but then in the last few months she'd done a great many things that were without precedent. What, then, was one more?
With a grin and a slight, girlish giggle she gripped her brother's much larger hand in both of her own and stood, moving from the seat so as to pull him up likewise. "Come brother. I know so little about things, and I wish to learn. We shall start with this ritual. Not waiting for him to accede or protest she pulled him along, her tiny frame belying the godly strength she truly possessed. In short order she had wound them through the tables and seatin g upon the lower floor and past the people crowding the stairs to the upper floor, the excited cat only stopping once they were on the edge of the mass of bodies. Once she'd finally relinquished her grip on the other legendary she turned to him, the grin still on her face as a lost sparkle alit her eyes. "Well? Instruct me." She waited patiently for him this time, feeling that she might ought to mimic the others but hesitant to do so until her brother confirmed that it was acceptable.

Pyring was reassured by his sister's smile. That, more then anything, was proof that she was no longer insane. It was trying on the fire cat when his sister was infected. There was nobody he was closer to then Zephryne, she was both mother and sister to him. When the humans had mistakenly spread their poison in the world, corrupting the very water that was his siter's lifeblood he was beyond himself. In an instant his sister went from caring and nurturing to a bloodthirsty animal that couldn't recognize her own family. He had been tempted many times to hate humans. The very creatures he had such fascination with, he felt like burning every last one of them to the ground. Had his sister gotten any worse, or died because of it, he very well could have.
The legendary took another drink, and then found himself pulled away from the table. "Wha-?" Without a chance to protest, Pyring was dragged across the room and up the stairs. He was drug all the way to the party floor, and he knew what was coming. He was the one that was supposedly the expert on humans, and his sister was not. Finding them dancing had apparently caught her interest, and it was time to deal with it. "Well..um..." Pyring looked around, as if to find some recourse. There wasn't. "There's not much to instruct, Zeph. Just, follow the music. Or the kids, either way." He grinned and scratched the back of his neck. "I'm not a big fan of dancing, you know. Never really done it myself."

Though she was indeed eager to learn and partake in this particular human ritual, the goddess nonetheless stood and waited patiently. Though her eyes glowed with a childish curiosity long thought lost she was not so brazen as to charge in headlong. That trait was one unique to her brothers, and that was why she now looked to the eldest for guidance. This had always been the way, the elder siblings going out and discovering things, challenging the world their father had created, while she waited at home or hesitantly stumbled along in their footsteps. Many would, and did, find it quite surprising that one who had witnessed the birth of creation would be so ignorant of what made life, and so hesitant to learn.
When it was revealed, or at least claimed, that even her brother was not aware of how to partake in this act her cheeks immediately puffed up, taking on the appearance of a pouting child. Zephryne was not even aware this was the case or else she would have rectified it immediately. It was just so easy to feel like an innocent child again when with her brothers, the actions and thoughts came as naturally as breathing. It only made sense though; she'd never been without them before, and so could never really feel at home unless they were with her. That being the case she was the darling little sister however, and they the doting big brothers, so with them she could at times play the spoiled little brat.
But even when taking that part, she was still hesitant to rush ahead. This was made clear when her pouting face was blemished by uncertainty in her eyes. She turned her head, looking back at all of the young humans and their strange motions. She really had no idea where to even begin, and the last thing she wished would be to inadvertently look a fool. But perhaps.... She turned her gaze back, looking up at her brother. If he joined her, then even if she made a mistake she would not feel quite so foolish, because she knew that he would not judge. A small smile, mischievous even, crept to her lips. Once more she took his hand in her own and pulled him onto the dance floor, willing or not.
Once on the floor with him she again paused, looking about certainly and nibbling at her lip. After a few moments, however, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She then did as her brother had instructed and allowed herself to feel the music. It was a strange, pulsing beat, but not altogether unenjoyable. She allowed it to flow through her body, and then likewise allowed it to move on its own as it felt that it should. The motions felt quite strange to her, and the heat before her told her that she was being pressed quite closely to the other god, but that in itself lent a certain degree of comfort. Besides, so long as she kept her eyes closed, she wouldn't be able to see how foolish she might look and thus so would no one else. ....Right?

There was no help for it. His sister wanted to dance, and Pyring was at a loss to refuse her. Even with his hesitation in dancing. Shyness wasn't a feeling that came naturally to the flame cat, and so when it came it was more bewildering for it then would it otherwise. Nonetheless, he had promised to show his sister a good time as a celebration for her returning to herself. And really, he would allow this. His beloved sister was back, and he found himself as unable to refuse now then he was years ago even before the advent of humanity into their realm. He might as well dance anyway, he was a supposed expert on the humans and the fact that he had never partaken in the ritualized recreation before was a slight on his part.
He only let out a token protest as he was drug further onto the dance floor, but nothing more than that. With a sigh, he let his coat vanish from his shoulders. It would just get in the way of his dancing, such as it was. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Blaze trying not to laugh. Damnable Mutt. Pyring was thus inflamed to do his best and to teach that dog a thing or two.
Next to his sister, he let his eyes fall closed and let the music control his limbs. Swaying and rocking, he fit into the crowd naturally. He felt like one of his flames, dancing merrily on a candle's wick. And so Pyring moved next to his sister, for all the world resembling a tongue of flame within the crowd of humans, bright and graceful.
